I love this concept. One of the things that makes Pitch Meeting so entertaining is your insight into filmmaking, so sharing some of your insights into your own work is actually quite interesting.
I just imagine that 2 years from now we'll be getting an "Avatar Pitch Meeting - Revisited - Revisited!" where you revisit the revisit and show us how much better you've gotten at drawing cats

This was actually as good as a normal pitch meeting in my opinion. Please do do more of these if it's super easy and barely an inconvenience for you. This is tight.
I mean the tails in general are not inherently sexual. They provide an emotional link and establish a much deeper bond between the two who are linked. The banshee scene was not at all weird if you compare it to how a wild, or generally rambunctious, horse is broken into submission to the point that it becomes rideable. Its literally the exact same thing except you're able to communicate emotionally and, again, build a substantially deeper bond on mutual trust instead of fear and pain. Of course the Na'vi link when having sex but day to day they likely use it much more as a tool to control their mounts than to have sex. I can definitely see how some people can see it as weird seeing as how they hardly explain it besides showing it off in only like two scenes, one of which was a sex scene. Its something that a casual watcher would kind of have to piece together themselves or look up to understand what they were going for.
Visual Metaphors are Tight (but seriously, it’s both.) Instead of limiting the definition of what sex is, give a thought to broadening your definition of personal connection. The tails add something really important most action movies lack, which is some kind of mature presentation of sex and sexual origin. Alien has its face huggers, Aliens has its queen. Blade Runner has its clones seeking out their father. Great movies do this. And it’s okay at the same time to crack wise about how they go about it, which is what Ryan did so beautifully.
I like this new format. You have a calmness and likability that a lot of other internet movie critics lack. Hearing some of your genuine thoughts and opinions from time to time would be a nice addition to the channel.

It is _super easy_ for me to understand you: I write poetry as a hobby, as a way to analyse and criticize myself, while providing as much insight and wisdom I can (and hope to) gift. the extensive elaboration on pony tails was actually the best part of that pitch! I always love it when Ryan deep dives into super unimportant but weird parts of the movies that make absolutely no sense.
Agreed. Sometimes there are jokes that drag on for a bit too long, but I didn't feel that here. Ponytail thing was the weirdest thing about Avatar and it deserved all this time to make fun of.
I actually really enjoyed the ponytail joke in that Pitch Meeting. The mix of Screenwriter Guy obviously being super into it and Producer Guy feeling uncomfortable was very funny.
@@LoveProWrestling You may have seen the rerelease when it came to theaters. After the theatrical cut's success, they rereleased the movie to theaters with about 8 minutes of additional content which included the ponytail sex moment.

Luckily I discovered Pitch Meetings as soon as the first episode aired and become a huge fan since then. Now looking back at the beginnings of the channel you can clearly see how much Ryan improved his acting skills, comedic timing, writing and editing. Thank you for many hours of great entertainment through Pitch Meetings and your other skits Ryan. You worked hard and deserved a break... And the other guy is not that bad also.

I really like that you did this video because it's easy for someone to dismiss Pitch Meetings as "oh, he's just nitpicking/roasting movies," but that little bit on exposition makes it pretty clear that you very much understand narrative and screenwriting, and that's why Pitch Meetings work so well.
One upside of the pandemic was me discovering Pitch Meetings and seeing there was so many to watch. Ryan take all the time you need you've earned it. Creating new content is " Super Hard, Very much an Inconvenience".
Ryan George don't apologize for taking a break for your mental health, everyone needs it (especially for people like you that had to do videos weekly for such a long time) we will gladly be waiting for your videos, no matter how long they will take because they are always entertaining and mental health should always come first, so proud of you for doing it.
Mental health is so lazy. The saga of life is that we are born, got nuts and then die. This worked well for all of our ancestors, what made us so special? Stress feels tight!
@@gentblue Not sure if you're being sarcastic or earnest, but pacing ourselves allows for a more fulfilling, longer life. Stress eventually catches up with us and has an impact on our physical health.
Thanks for the reminder that what makes Pitch Meeting work is the fact that you actually conduct nuanced, in-depth reviews of the films before translating it into the madness that is Pitch Meeting. Keep these coming!
Hearing about the thought process behind the pitch meetings is facilitating! Your comedy is gold especially without having to rely on potty humor for cheap laughs. Your videos are timeless and have all aged like fine wine. I hope you find the balance between working and keeping your sanity. We are rooting for you and are happy to support such a talented artist.
Take all the time you need. We can be patient, burn out is real. Thanks for all the work you have put in, and I'm so glad pitch meetings has its own channel now!
This was an excellent filler between your Pitch Meeting videos. I can't imagine how much work goes into writing all of the zany things you pick from each movie to develop a video. I can't wait to see more!
For the record I’ve never “forgotten” to subscribe but when a UA-camr has asked in a funny enough way I’ve done it out of respect for making me laugh. Your outros almost always make me laugh and even your sponsored segments are usually funny enough I’ll watch them all the way through even if I have no interest in the product. 10/10
These are literally great. I rewatch pitch meetings all the time and now you're here to give commentary or just stare directly at us with your cat and legs. A+ content would watch again
Dude, mixing the Ryan George channel with the pitch meeting channel and adding the commentary onto it while looking back. I’m so fucking excited for this to become a thing! Thanks for 5 years, hope you treat yourself for it because the community fucking loves you for it❤️
To put to rest any doubt, to me, all Pitch Meetings are some of the most entertaining videos on YT. I’ve watched every single one even without watching the movie the pitch meeting was about and I will gladly re-watch all of the revisited ones too
This was really fun! I liked hearing your thoughts on your past work. Would definitely watch more of these! I also want to say that while it is clear in your older videos you're still figuring out the characters, they're still very funny!
Yes absolutely do more of this. You have a recognizable body of work now and enough people are mentally and emotionally invested in your characters that you can rehash that same work and make more money with a quarter of the effort. Hollywood is truly rubbing off on you Ryan. I love it.
It's good to hear that he's aware of his own mental health and the need to take a break. I always come back to his pitch meeting videos without waiting for a new one. I just hope his viewers would come back to him when he's back.
I think he needs it. It was pretty easy to see he was getting burnt out, as he started using some of the same "bits" in his last few videos (most notably the "yeah... shuddup!" thing, not the catch-phrases, but just funny little bits). Him getting a bit of rest will get him refreshed.
It's a lot better now that they're on the dedicated Pitch Meeting channel. Subscribing to this channel is great, but subscribing to Screen Rant meant 5 videos I didn't care about in my feed every single day so I'd just come back to check for new Pitch Meetings instead.
I love this concept. And I love that you are taking time for yourself. You may not realize how much joy the silly little videos you make bring to us, but waiting a little longer between releases knowing that you aren't pushing yourself to be unhealthy is super easy, barely an inconvenience.

You’re incredible and this body of work is tremendous! The creativity, intelligence and general hilarity is OUTSTANDING! Thank you for all this hard work! Your videos got me through a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment this past fall. At one point, I put the channel on for 6 hours, just watching and laughing. Lifting people’s spirits and making them laugh is one of the most important and valuable contributions. You are a treasure! And frankly, you deserve a break! Like a long vacation! Best to you! ❤️💕😃
You're literally the best take as much time as you need!! So many creators with a "niche" drive it into the ground and it gets old after a few years. You've managed to keep it always enjoyable and fresh, says a lot!
"So many creators with a "niche" drive it into the ground and it gets old" .... kinda like the creators of Avatar. The first one was a preachy mess, but we were willing to overlook the bad writing because of the stunning CGI. Now the new one is just more of the same CGI... and the same stupid sermonizing.
I appreciate you acknowledging your chest hair and "do-do". Also, I super appreciate you taking time for yourself. I love Pitch Meeting and accept in order to keep yourself sane and keep the engine, as it were, running, you gotta take time to recharge.
You take all the time you need good sir. You have no idea how many people who's lives you enrich and help distract from the horrors of day to day existence with your great sketches and pitch meetings.
How’d Ryan get to our universe? This is the multiverse movie we need and we deserve. I’m sure everybody will support your decision, you’ve done so much for us. Big ❤️
The amount of time you spent on the Na’vi hair bond with animals was the perfect length! Spending so much time on it really makes the audience have to come to terms with how messed up it actually is. The edgy tinge of discomfort that you let stew is what makes it one of the funniest parts of the whole skit.
I came to your channel because CinemaSins name-dropped you. I'm glad I did! I really like your delivery, and of course, all your points are spot on. And funny. I've only watched a handful of your compilation videos (to catch up faster) but I want to say I like your format plan for the filler content. I love behind the scenes for EVERYthing.
I love this Revisiting format; and hearing from Real(ish) Ryan is a nice change of pace. Definitely happy to see more of this, especially if it gives you more breathing room and space to relax a bit!
Love your channel and take whatever time you need. The avatar movies made me think: makes billion dollar movies about protecting and caring about nature produces tons of toys of plastic and tons of junk from sets just to earn billions of dollars from people who actually care about nature.
I appreciated and enjoyed how you let the whole Pitch Meeting play through before giving your take on it years later now, as opposed to talking over it or pausing over and over again. Do not change!🙂
IDK man I'm so used to the characters it kinda creeps me out peeking behind the curtain. it's like catching the wizard of OZ in the bathroom, in his underwear, unshaven, with a toothbrush in his mouth. I mean, who is this Ryan guy?
9:22 "Show, don't tell" I was watching WALL-E yesterday, and something I was reminded of revisiting that film is how much exposition it lays out in a mostly visual way at the beginning. Like, there are some expository BnL recordings that go off to provide information, but tons of little things are just done visually. Like seeing how WALL-E collects parts from other broken WALL-E models and that he can use those parts to repair himself if needed, which comes into play at the very end. Or how when he's watching a romantic scene in "Hello, Dolly!" WALL-E puts his own hands together, implying that he has a longing to understand what love is. That movie goes so out of its way to have you passively learn things about the world and characters, mostly without dialogue in the first third. It's why it's still my favorite Pixar movie and one of the best Sci-fi movies ever made :3
"Dances with Smurfs" was a great one to revisit... and the Ryanverse deepens with yet another level of you talking about you talking to you. Super fun.
If having more time to perfect the pitch meetings and make them even better than they already are is what you feel like you need to do, then I am onboard with that!
I knew he wasn't real the whole thing. The voice acting is on point though he really brings the character to life . Even though I know he's CGI he feels so real.
I hadn't seen this particular Pitch Meeting, I've never even seen Avatar, and had no desire to. One of the things I love about your scripts is that you clearly understand story, structure, character, and all of the other things nobody in Hollywood seems to remember anymore, and the commentary section of this revisit shows that even more. In a way these are valuable educational tools as well as good entertainment. I direct a lot of dubbing and one direction I'm often giving the actors is: don't make this expository dialogue sound expository.
Glad that Ryan is watching out for himself - I’m excited to see how the channel shifts this year! You can tell that, just like in his early pitches, he’s figuring out this new role but it’s an engaging start! I wish all UA-camrs were as clear and open with their audience.
I think this sounds awesome. And after *watching* 300 pitch meetings over several binging sprees I'm honestly maybe more excited to hear you talk about them than to just see the new ones

Was definitely an enjoyable alternative to a weekly pitch meeting. As much as I adore your comedic takes on film, it's also just as good watching you talk about it a bit more seriously too

Your videos are awesome, you're really funny i love it hahahaha
Your mental health is definitely more important than anything else. We're all big fans of the Pitch Meetings (as well as your other content), so any uploads, even if only bi-weekly, will still be something to which I look forward. Pleasing your fans is super easy, barely an inconvenience.
the extensive elaboration on pony tails was actually the best part of that pitch!
Agreed, it was fantastic
I actually really enjoyed the ponytail joke in that Pitch Meeting. The mix of Screenwriter Guy obviously being super into it and Producer Guy feeling uncomfortable was very funny.
totally. I'd not change a bit about this episode. but it's fun to revisit those anyways!
I remember that from the theatrical version. They cut it for the bluray?
Same
Same here! I think it was very well written and delivered.
@@LoveProWrestling You may have seen the rerelease when it came to theaters. After the theatrical cut's success, they rereleased the movie to theaters with about 8 minutes of additional content which included the ponytail sex moment.
You are legit my favorite comedy UA-cam channel. Your sense of humor is one I thought was strangely unique to me haha. Please don’t feel pressured to keep putting them out at a ridiculous pace. I’ll love them when they come. Thank you for all of your work and making me laugh so much 😂❤
Rarely do we see a youtube creator do a commentary on their own comedy. I like this very much. I think I can learn quite a lot from these.
He has got to be one of my favorite comedians. His timing and delivery are perfect, his insight to typical movie pit falls is spot on, and I'll admit I've watched movies I never would have watched just because he did a Pitch Meeting for them 🤣 Keep up the great work, Ryan!
Did you see his other work
Funny, he’s actually saved me hundreds of dollars by convincing me to wait for a ton of movies to make it to streaming 😂
@@alexpowers5117 I actually have seen all, or at least most of his other work. I've even got the Ryan George YouTooz figurines 🤣
And the other guy is not that bad also.
your character look like two face if both sides of his face burned off
@@parsnipguy2986 so Both-face?
That's not "the other guy", what are you talking about? As Ryan himself explained, that's just a CGI character...
@@truehare cgi... he's just covering for the fact he's got an illegal clone
I think the improvement in his timing is the most obvious change. Some of the earlier Pitches almost don't feel like real conversations.
Oh man, I love this format. Great way to make a vid longer and get a look into your thought process when making these. I couldn't help but stick around the whole 10min and it honestly didn't feel long. Plz do this more!
You have saved thousands of hours and hundreds of dollars with Pitch meeting. Your doing Gods work!
*Billions of dollars
Fr i barely even watch movies now
Very true, i see the pitch meeting and then decide if I should bother watching the movie.
If Ryan George keep up like that maybe he will be able to buy Canada.
Don't give them ideas. The industry loves to sell money they did not make for whatever reason as "damage" to them.
Glad you’re taking a break once in a while I can’t imagine running two channels by yourself is easy. This was awesome. Please do more of these. Thanks.
It's actually super easy.
@@HelgaCavoli barely an an inconvenience!
@@Studentforlife473 When Dolly the sheep was cloned back in the 90s, some people said there'd be no practical application for that. Fortunately, Ryan's parents were visionaries.
IDK man I'm so used to the characters it kinda creeps me out peeking behind the curtain.
it's like catching the wizard of OZ in the bathroom, in his underwear, unshaven, with a toothbrush in his mouth.
I mean, who is this Ryan guy?
I really like that you did this video because it's easy for someone to dismiss Pitch Meetings as "oh, he's just nitpicking/roasting movies," but that little bit on exposition makes it pretty clear that you very much understand narrative and screenwriting, and that's why Pitch Meetings work so well.
I like when the sirens go "WEEOOO"
Nope. Totally flawless.

@@gentblue It's actually very simple, hardly a nuisance.
Thanks for the reminder that what makes Pitch Meeting work is the fact that you actually conduct nuanced, in-depth reviews of the films before translating it into the madness that is Pitch Meeting. Keep these coming!
I like how it’s “Pitch Meeting: The Directors Commentary “
Hearing about the thought process behind the pitch meetings is facilitating! Your comedy is gold especially without having to rely on potty humor for cheap laughs. Your videos are timeless and have all aged like fine wine. I hope you find the balance between working and keeping your sanity. We are rooting for you and are happy to support such a talented artist.
Hearing about the process is tight!
Honestly a good excuse to watch old ones since I forget all the jokes anyways!
Okay THIS format is INCREDIBLE. I absolutely love it and hope you continue on with them.
These are literally great. I rewatch pitch meetings all the time and now you're here to give commentary or just stare directly at us with your cat and legs. A+ content would watch again
A trippier experience has never been had, than when Ryan talks directly to you as himself.
For a while I thought Ryan was just making fun of the fact that Jake Sully recorded a lot of videologs and was adding that to the Pitch Meeting 😄😄
Please do this more often Ryan, I love your interaction to us, it's so surreal cus we often see you just doing sketch lol
Uh. Parasocial much, guys?
In addition, I'd like to see a pitch meeting for this Pitch Meetings Re-Visited series
Revisiting old Pitch Meetings with Ryan's commentary is tight!
You should REALLY do a revisit of the Willy Wonka pitch meeting. Your riff about Grandpa Joe being the villain was absolutely hilarious.
I have rewatched that one so many times and that part is absolutely hilarious.
Which episode is that?
I love this concept. And I love that you are taking time for yourself. You may not realize how much joy the silly little videos you make bring to us, but waiting a little longer between releases knowing that you aren't pushing yourself to be unhealthy is super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Haa, Good one bro 😅😅😅
Really enjoyed this, getting to see Ryan’s commentary on it and if his thoughts have changed since filming the pitch meeting. Also this means we get more Ryan! Getting more of Ryan is TIGHT

So now we're doing Pitch Meeting DVD commentary? What a time to be alive.
This guy literally brings so much joy.
It is an amazing amount of joy.

The amount of time you spent on the Na’vi hair bond with animals was the perfect length! Spending so much time on it really makes the audience have to come to terms with how messed up it actually is. This CGI Ryan looks weird. The combed chest hair looks fake.
It's also going to be nice to get content with him that isn't just an add for an article
I love this Revisiting format; and hearing from Real(ish) Ryan is a nice change of pace. Definitely happy to see more of this, especially if it gives you more breathing room and space to relax a bit!
Anything for his MENTAL HEALTH! 😁
This is fun! Ryan has definitely gotten more interesting and natural with his delivery over time
Love your channel and take whatever time you need.
This was great, Ryan! More of you revisiting of old Pitch Meetings is definitely awesome content :)

Super fun.
If having more time to perfect the pitch meetings and make them even better than they already are is what you feel like you need to do, then I am onboard with that!
wow this format is absolutely awesome, i would more than happily watch an equal balance of new pitch meetings and these every month
Nice to know that Screen-writer Guy is a C.G.I creation! Thanks for the lore, really appreciate it!
Worldbuilding is TIGHT!
I knew he wasn't real the whole thing. The voice acting is on point though he really brings the character to life . Even though I know he's CGI he feels so real.
Is a lie, is a clone.
How can someone be third cousins with a CGI creation though?
I hadn't seen this particular Pitch Meeting, I've never even seen Avatar, and had no desire to. One of the things I love about your scripts is that you clearly understand story, structure, character, and all of the other things nobody in Hollywood seems to remember anymore, and the commentary section of this revisit shows that even more. In a way these are valuable educational tools as well as good entertainment.
I direct a lot of dubbing and one direction I'm often giving the actors is: don't make this expository dialogue sound expository.
That was really neat!
I would be more than happy for you to fill content slots with more videos like this, rewatching pitch meetings is tight!
