Yeah, because he didn’t finish the sentence, “they didn’t cry until I left them with her.” Is what I assume he meant. He clammed up because she was right there and probably just terrified yk
The cut to Sadness in the back 💀 I can see the resemblance. I just watched this movie last week and it stressed me out so much but I loved it. Great reaction!
Watching this made me remember reading what a father said once at the birth of his child: "I knew from now on I would never be free again". A loving parent's happiness is tied to what happens to this vulnerable being they have brought into the world. It's a scary thought.
Yessss. I read a quote by an author once who said after she had her son she was so happy, but “I will never again draw an untroubled breath”. I have 3 kids and it’s so true.
I love how it's so obvious when Zuff like the movie/series he is watching. The way he was so invested in the plot and actually clocking some stuffs (like Alex being Barry, the kid who was kidnap years ago) I really like to see.
I saw this in the cinema and came out shaking, I had to sit down outside of the cinema for like 30 minutes before I could get up to go home. That was the first time a movie did that to me. What a masterpiece!
When Keller is wielding the hammer at Alex, the director told Hugh Jackman to be as ferocious as possible. Howard's reaction is genuine because he wasn't aware Jackman was going to do that.
This film was filmed in my home state in areas that look EXTREMELY similar to around where I grew up. Something about it makes it so insanely real. Amazing performances and insane directing
Turn your volume all the way up at the end and you can hear the board moving which means Loki found Jackman's character. I love this movie. Its top 10 for me all time.

Films like Se7en, The Bone Collector (Denzel and Angelina), Silence of the Lambs, Zodiac, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Game, Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, True Detective, Memories of Murder, etc. Hope you guys do more films like this in the future!
Watching this movie back after knowing how it ends is a WILD experience. Would definitely love to see your reactions to Donnie Darko or Nightcrawler for other great performances from Jake Gyllenhaal!
The first time I watched this movie, I guessed the twist with Dano's character fairly early on, but until it was confirmed I was thinking "Please don't let me be right, because if I am, what is happening is sooo much worse". Great movie.
not to be this person but this movie genuinely has such a big impact in my life. it was one of the first films I watched and I was 100% invested in it. It was the movie that made Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano my favourite actors, and Denis Villeneuve one of my favourite directors. I watched this movie when I was 15 and it made me fall in love with cinema. Easily on my top 5 movies of all time. Great reaction as always.
This is my second time watching this movie, and it's been so long I honestly didn't remember who the kidnapper was. I just remembered Hugh Jackman's character torturing that guy and that he was innocent. I was shocked that Rob predicted that the aunt was involved pretty early on and Zuff predicted that Alex was really Barry! I didn't figure it out until right before it was revealed. Also, good take by Bryce on the fact that Alex/Barry, Bob and the rest of the kids who were kidnapped were mentally imprisoned by Holly and her husband. Furthermore, Keller became a prisoner of his own grief by sacrificing his humanity to find his daughter, which lead him to the pit at the end of the film. Loki also became a prisoner to the case due to his obsession with finding the girls, and escaped the prison by saving Anna. I know Alex/Barry was innocent of the kidnapping (he lived with his aunt so that's why he saw the girls) and was a victim himself but after what he did to the dog I didn't feel as sorry for him. I have no sympathy for animal abusers or child molesters. Anyway, I remembered it was very disturbing and intense but I forgot just what a good movie this is. The writing is excellent, the cinematography is stunning, the music is phenomenal (not a surprise since it's by Jóhann Jóhannson, one of Iceland's greatest composers) and the acting is incredible, especially by Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. But also an underrated performance by the amazing Viola Davis. Fun facts: The scene where Keller attacks Alex/Barry with a hammer was largely adlibbed. Amazingly, Paul Dano didn't flinch as Hugh was threatening him. The moment where Holly asks Keller to drink a little more was improvised by Melissa Leo, who thought Hugh wasn't drinking enough to make it believable. In case the studio did not approve of the more ambiguous ending, Denis Villeneuve actually shot a scene in which Loki saves Keller. However, originally, Keller was supposed to never be discovered. Finally, Hugh Jackman was actually considered to play Mark Wahlberg's character in The Lovely Bones and Mark Wahlberg was considered to play Hugh's character in this movie.
definitely my top 10 movies i love Paul Dano he just know how to play creepy weird dude and also find a way to make you feel for him in a way specially in this movie cause he's a victim too .. but he needs more movie cause he's AMAZING same for Hugh Jackman he really surprised me in this movie being so helpless but so motivated to find his daughter no matter the cost .. same for Viola we don't see her that much but god she know how to make you feel sad..

Honestly I think Hollywood couldn’t recognize a good film. That’s why this one is on the top of everything and always included. It’s phenomenal. It hurts and it really is a haunting story.
1:11:13.. On that note, what I found really worrying when I first watched this was the facial expression Anna has when she's wheeled in to "thank" Loki...
