You should do We Are Marshall next. It's based on the true story about the Marshall University Football team who had to re-create the football program from scratch after Southern Airways Flight 932, the plane the football team was on, crashed into a hill, killing 37 players, 8 members of the coaching staff, and 25 boosters on November 14, 1970. Today, Marshall University plays this film for freshmen during their orientation, calling their story an "Ashes to Glory" story. The Ashes being the plane crash, the glory being their ability to rise above it. This isn't in the movie because it happened long after it premiered, but sadly, Reggie, who was the youngest on the team at the time (he wasn't on the plane because he was injured), died a few years ago due to a fall at his house. In life, he went on interviews telling the story, not wanting this tragedy to be forgotten. It's an important story because it shows how a football team who lost nearly everyone, triumphed over tragedy.

It's a true story hockey movie starring Kurt Russell. It's about the USA hockey team that defeated Russia in the Olympics. It's what the movie Mighty Ducks 2 is loosely based off of.

What was the atmosphere like there regarding racism? Did kids resent having to watch this in school? I'm in my 30s and grew up in Southern California, in a neighborhood with basically every race. But my mom sent me to a "better" high school an hour away, in an all-white area, and they had their own KKK. It was ridiculous. I'm white, so I blended in, but I hated seeing all the Nazi crap and the teachers acting like it was normal. I loved this movie growing up. The whole "who do they think they are, the NY Jets" was during the time the Jets were running the shotgun formation almost exclusively because Joe Namath's knees were so damaged that he could not scramble like he once could.

The real Herman Boone was fired from his coaching job after he was accused of getting into physical fights with his players whenever they refused to play.

Love a good sports movie this is definitely at the top of the list the story was very touching, and with the time period you get to watch both sides start to understand and respect each other them having to touch that field together and trust each other is what makes the movie so good because like it or not your team is your family 👏🏾

"The Kiss" - This was Sunshine's method of "F'ing" with Bertier's mind because Bertier called Sunshine "Fruitcake" the first time they saw each other.

Many people don t realize Louie just moved from Bayonne, NJ.
New Jersey had been desegregated since the late 40s. He probably had black classmates and friends back in Bayonne. That's why, much like Sunshine, he's oblivious to the racial tensions that are going on in Virginia.

Sunshine was definitely not played by Eddie Redmayne 🤣 (Eddie was in the Fantastic Beasts movies and the Theory of Everything). He's played by Kip Pardue! But they do look very similar and I think Eddie and Kip look like they could be brothers with Patrick Wilson from the Conjuring, too. Sameface!!
