I was seeing so many videos, but no one was knitting like me. I knitte just like you. I was miserable trying and constantly falling. Thank you for solving my questions!
@@sweetgeorgia Thank you for your videos. I really like the colors you choose for your projects. In this pattern, which type of casting on did you utiluze? Thanks
I'm an experienced knitter, but for the life of me could not figure out brioche knitting. This was by far the best video I've seen! Thank you for taking your time and thoroughly explaining the steps, what to look out for, how to "read" the knitting so you can see what needs to come next, but also about talking about what you were struggling with when you were trying to learn. I would have never thought that the "slip" I've always done would need to be done differently for brioche stitches. Now I can't wait to dive into a brioche pattern. Thank you!
Thank-you so very much. Knitting makes sense to me when I am able to read it and be confident where I am with it. Your tutorial makes it look simple and stress free. A good teacher simplifies things and makes it look like fun. You my friend are a very good teacher. By not using all those burps and other confusing words you actually draw the attention to being able to read your work. I think that was the awesome part.
You are such a great teacher! Brioche has been on my bucket list for several years now. I have found a cute hat pattern I want to knit and you've given me the confidence to try it! Thank you so much!
Even with your patient and informative instructions, I had to restart this a couple of times, until I could 'see' it! But perserverance has paid off, it now makes sense to my brain! Thank you!! And I am amazed at you doing this with magic loop...those ladders would drive me over the edge. I'm glad they have come out with shorter cords for the KnitPro and Knitter's Pride family of needles- I find the shortest cord of the Mindful Collection to let me do hats and cowls with ease, and now the two cords that came in the KnitPro Denim shorts set are even shorter!! I love making warm scarves in the round, instead of flat pieces, and brioche is going to make them doubly warmer, as well as beautiful. Thank you again for your patient instruction. I am off to see what else is on your channel! 🥰😘
I have been struggling working on a pair of slippers for my mother that start out with flat brioche and then goes into brioche in the round. I must have restarted it at least three or four times when I got to the round part. I looked a lot of videos and I am so grateful that I came across this video because it has been the absolute best description and instructions on how to do this and what to look at when you're doing the stitches. I have now completed several rounds on the slippers and am confident that I can put this down and pick it back up again without issue. Thank you for making such a clear and concise video. It's helped tremendously
You have such a wonderfully clear voice and great cadence for video tutorials. In the first three minutes, just from your spoken explanation of the knitting terms [before you even begun the visual lesson] I was able to glean wayyyyy more than from any other brioche video I've watched. I love how much you stressed the structure of the process and teaching one how to "read" the knitting so as to not have to rely on the infinite ways that different designers may write brioche instructions. I am a fan of your teaching style. Bravo and much thanks indeed!
Tammy thank you sooo much Tammy! This means a lot to me! I do think it’s helpful when people really understand what’s going on with what they are making. Glad it was useful for you!
Thank you so much for showing me how brioche is ACTUALLY knit 😊 I have repeatedly struggled with the same confusion that you described, for the past 18 months 😵💫 I just thought I was never going to get it 😒 Your tutorial has shown me how easy it REALLY is 😄 So, I will be trying brioche again soon 💖
Thanks so much I’ve been confused for so long with brioche you made it so easy. I’m going to start a project or start a hat like you did and see what I can do. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you.😊😊😊
I really appreciate the way you encourage knitters to 'read their work'. I aim to take that approach from now on...since I have struggled to interpret written knitting instructions in the past. I particularly like the two-colour brioche project you picked up again...lovely colour effect. Thank you : )
Ok, I'm glad I wasn't alone. It took me a few times to finally figure it out too! Everyone was saying it was easy, but I was like...no. this is hard. But now I think it's easy and love it!
This was so helpful and clear! Thank you! I've been knitting for almost 50 years and just tried brioche and could not get it from the pattern! Wonderful!
EXCELLENT!!! SLOW Enough to catch what’s actually happening, that helped immensely! How you spoke and at the same time demonstrated how the yarn over was accomplished as you knit or purled the next stitch or stitches. Just excellent... absolutely got it! You are a wonderful teacher, both in the spoken word and physically demonstrating! What fun this will be now!!!
This was such a great video! I’ve seen other videos that said brioche was just to finicky/hard/complicated that I didn’t even want to try it. Your video made it seem so simple. Thank you!
I have been looking for brioche tutorials and yours is by far the best! I am a visual learner and I also need to have things explained to me so I can form a picture in my mind. Great teachers anticipate their students' questions and you have done just that. Your explanations are excellent and very clear. Thank you so much!
Finally a brioche video I can understand!! Thank you so much this is a perfect tutorial. I've watched so many this week and couldn't understand till I came to yours.
Thank you so much! I am a newbie to Brioche knitting and got very confused when just reading the pattern instructions. You have made it do much clearer! 🌸🌷🌺
Thank you so much for this!!!! I have tried a million brioche tutorials and written instructions and nothing has clicked until now. I so appreciate your time and your ability to walk us through this process. :)
Thank you for explaining and photographing so well. I've been struggling to learn this (am experienced knitter) and agree the S1yo can be confusing. Where I always goof is on the last stitch of the row and the first stitch due to the slip sts. This causes my count to be off and combination of colors in sts. What I've learned is, 1. Every slip st will be a live st not a slip st. 2. The yarn must always be in front of work when doing the slip st. 3. Every Brk or Brp with two color Brioch will have one of each color for this st.Not just MC or CC but 1MC 1CC. 4. One Brioche st consists of a slip and live st. Last your idea to begin the project with basic knitting foundation is a good one. This helps stabilize the work for the Brioche to build on. Plus makes it much clearer what colors and sts to do. To start the beginning as Brioche is difficult when learning, I'll try a swatch with your technique of a few rows traditional then begin Set Up rows for Brioche. New Sub, Tks. Also glad you knit English vs Continental. I do too and much easier to follow.
Thank you, thank you, thank YOU! I was doing the same thing you were, doing a full yarn over and then slipping the stitch, which left me with an 'excess' that made my stitches look very loose. This has been a wonderful tutorial. You've helped me get over my fear of brioche!
I was trying to figure out brioche the other day and was so confused. I watched like 4 different videos about it and none of them made any sense and they seemed like they were all doing different things. This one is clear and makes so much sense! Definitely going to come back to this when I try brioche again!
I'm glad I found this video! I've been wanting to try Brioche knitting after seeing so many beautiful brioche projects from my fb group I recently joined even though I don't know how to knit brioche yet. Thank you for this tutorial!
I LOVE being able to read my knitting..and the pattern. I usually won't do a pattern that is difficult to read. AND my daughter just asked me to knit something brioche. I said i wouldnt because too hard to read!! AHA! thank you for this, Felicia!
Thank you for this video. I refer to it often when I get confused with my project in two color brioche in the round! It is taking me a while but I am really learning to memorize the steps and know what to look for to prevent a mistake! It feels so good when I get it correct!
This video saved me! I am attempting the Cinnabar Shawl and have never knit Brioche. The instructions were confusing me - mostly because I didn't understand the YOs. On my way now. Thank you.
I’m new to brioche, and I almost gave up on the pattern for the beanie I wanted to make for a Christmas gift. I’m so glad I kept searching for tutorials. Yours is the first out of 5 that has made sense to me! Thank you!!
Thankyou it was rather bewildering for me so I had never tried it & I’m so glad you showed it English style I just can’t get on with continental style I’m so thankful for your awesome tutorials 😁💕
It is so nice to see a tutorial in my favourite colours thank you 🙏 & thank you for you clear instructions & great camera work helps us see exactly where to place the needles & yarn 😊💕
Thank you! I was doing a yarn over slip and it was a mess! It’s really a slip THEN yarn over. Will try again tonight! Gave up in frustration last night.
The best 2 colours demonstration holds my interest although I’m going to have to watch this over & over to burn it into my brain as I really want to do this very awesome pop of colours beautiful thank you 🙏 😊💕
Well done! I can now start my Ostrom Redux Cowl. Been trying to figure this out all day today. Glad I finally found this tutorial. What a great teacher you are Felicia.
Thank you!!! YOS makes so much more sense to me that slyo. I was doing the purlwise slip wrong, without the yarn in front, which was my problem, but now I've worked it out, "yarn over slip" is exactly how I would think about that stitch in my head, not "bring yard forward, slip one, yarn over" - I was completely missing the bring yarn forward part!
You have mad tension control skills to have such uniform columns of ribbing. I'm an English-style knitter, too, and I aspire to get to that level of evenness in my knitting.
Georgia you’re AWESOME!!! Sweet is a great description of your voice. I’ve subscribed as your the first voice I can stand. Thank you for your time and efforts. Plus the explanation is wonderful. I’m so happy I found you. My mothers name is Georgia.
Thank you for this clear tutorial. I've had a 2 colour brioche hat pattern on my "To Do" list for over a year, but could not understand the pattern nstructions. This video will help me finally attack this hat.
I have tried the brioche stitch and struggled so much and then I found this video and I completely understand what is going on and cant wait to try brioche again
This was an amazing tutorial. Your instructions are so clear. I kept making the same mistake over and over again and your directions have helped to clarify what i need to do! Thank you so much!

Your video is very clear, and void of the drama some people don't realize they're performing with. So, Do you have a small brioche in the round project I can try?
Best brioche video I have ever seen, instructions were given concisely and simply and so thankful you taught how to read the work. Wonderful.

This is the first two colour brioche video that I actually understand! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you for showing what happens at the end of the round. That is where I've been struggling!
This is the tutorial that made it click for me, thx! Just finished my first brioche project.
Amazing. Thank you! So glad it was helpful!
Your edges are beautiful...could you do a tutorial on how you started the work and what edge patter you used???
This is - by far - the best video on brioche i have seen! I couldn't figure it out until now but you made this so clear. Thank you!
