  • Join our group on Facebook at Frank Lloyd Wright Journeys. Hollyhock was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for oil heiress Aline Barnsdall and completed in 1921. Since her favorite flower was the Hollyhock, Wright incorporated abstractions of the flower into the concrete exterior and even the high back dining room chairs. Hollyhock House is LA’s one and only UNESCO World Heritage Site, meaning its significance goes beyond national boundaries, influencing the development of architecture and culture at large.
