- Odense, a cozy, tolerant city in the south of Denmark. Alleys with colorful houses, lots of nature and even more relaxation. Ready for a weekend trip? Odense in 5 minutes.
Odense is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. Here a whole museum is dedicated to him - the H.C. Andersens Hus (the museum was opened in 2021, not in 2022, as in the video described). A visit is worthwhile. Both the modern wooden architecture and the interactive, audio-guided exhibition about Hans Christian Andersen and his fairy tales are especially great.
If you are hungry, we recommend Storms Pakhus. Storms Pakhus is a popular place to try food from all over the world. A real food market. The atmosphere is really cozy. The market is open until 11pm every day, and even longer on weekends.
Just outside the city is Odense Zoo, with its new 250-meter tree-top walk and countless animals. Close by is "Den Fynske Landsby". This is a Fyn village where you can visit old houses and learn more about the former life in Denmark.

Hi Dina. Odense was a nice weekend trip end of May. Unfortunately, the weather was not as summery as we wished, but at least, you dont see the cold in the video :)

I have lived in Odense over 45 years, and there is nowhere else I would live in the world... Yes the weather is not always sun and warm, but we danes come from the Vikings, so a litte bit of frost og cold weather, that is no problem...

@@theTravellers Yes, we are doing well here. I have not yet been to Denmark, but I look forward to visiting one day. I also want to get back to Europe soon, but I don't have a definite plan yet. At least the USA dropped the covid testing requirement to enter the USA. I'll send you an IM on Instagram about our next trip. ☺

Not sure, but I think the Finnish government in the 60s tore down a lot of the nice wooden buildings because they thought it was for poor people and wanted things to be built in concrete
