- Yes, it's that F1 sounding, 20k RPM revving little beast... Well, at least the green version of it. The Kawasaki ZXR250, or ZX2R as some people call it...

That era of small displacement, high-revving 4 cylinder Japanese bikes are my absolute favourite. I'm glad we can now get the ZX4RR in North America.
I can’t wait for that little thing to come out! So unexpected, and so much potential
Awesome little bike - not common these days in Australia, but a decade or two ago they were the go to learner bike (as well as the MC22 and NC35!).
I wish my learner bike was something like this :)
I had one as my first road bike in Australia. Mine was a grey import. Lately I’ve found myself wanting another one.
I just sold my zxr400! hahahaha you mention long distance...... more like 20 minutes the ergonomics are soooo race focused! as for reasons.... i saw a two page spread in the 90's of a zxr400 and knew i wanted one! i loved it! my back did not hahahaaa but i ticked off a dream and have fond memories. great content dude!
Those types are bikes are so cool ... and one of those gems that will never be built again. Which is special. I’m glad you got to enjoy yours!
I have one of these in Australia, the 91 model. All in Australia were grey imports from japan but A LOT were imported from 2004-2010. Super fun bikes :)
II can't wait to get mine running properly... I think you have quite a few over there, right? They're not as rare in Australia
@@KRANKiTRare in aus now. Everyone use to get these as learner bikes back in the day and thrash them, so most are now scrapped or in poor condition :)
here in Australia these were everywhere and i actually had a two stroke version called a KR1250s ,this model would EAT the ZXR250 four stroke ,it was very fast and light
I think you're going to have a lot of fun with this bike! My first bike was a Suzuki GSXR250, also a 4 cylinder 17.000rpm+ screamer. I had just acquired my license 2 weeks earlier, before riding that thing from Denmark to Austria. It was deadly uncomfortable but a lot of fun! 😂
I do not envy you riding Demnark to Austria on that... Can't wait to be able to properly ride it myself too!
Imaging putting a turbo.This bike would be serious competitor to big bikes.

invest your time, energy and money into her
and then when shes finally yours it looks like a heaven
but cracks start to show up and all is not well
finally u decide your ways must part
and in the end u elaborate whether it was even worth it

U have our admiration to going for it. Must have been pretty long way from RO to HU.
Good for u that ur mechanically skilled and have a moto workshop. Otherwise those models would be out of reach for average people like the rest of us.
I contacted few people in central europe that had these models but luckily i decided it wasnt worth time and effort.
Dunno why they are found in HU, i also contacted some HU guys but language barrier or other shenanigans broke the deal.
If possible pls provide long videos about the restoration. I think there are many people that find it helpful and watching resto videos is a great experience.

Well, I don’t have a shop. Not right now at least. And I don’t have all that knowledge, but we’ll see when we get there :) it’s a project, there’s no rush for it ...

@@KRANKiT Starts and runs, although is in pieces for a good clean and service. Hopefully all goes well with reassembly! Beautiful sounding bike.

I bought most of mine off webike from Japan
I had the naked version of this bike, the ZR250 Balius. 20k rpm was always a good time, however the lack of torque with my 100+ kg frame meant getting around town was a chore!

I got my dads 91 model and rebuilt it, i wish u luck and remember to test the Regulator rectifier because that will always screw over your CDI

Great bike. Rare in Australia as well, only seen a few here. Small multicylinder bikes of this era are very collectable
I hope so :) even if they won’t be though, they’re special simply because they offer something that no other bikes can offer.
