Depeche Mode Reaction, Reaction to Precious, Reaction to songs playing the angel Album reaction, DM playing the angel songs,
Martin Gore, Dave Gahan, RIP Andrew Fletcher,
Martin's song to his children during his divorce. Lovely song, I particularly like some of the live versions.
Excelente.Depeche mode ,letra y sonido van de la mano
Definitely the best song after Alan-era
Dave has been like a fine wine from about age 35 to 50. He’s so handsome!
Couldnt agree more :D
Martin delivered one final masterpiece. It's all about those gorgeous high notes Dave sings in the verses. Exquisite.
In this song its you know unnormal situation where the voice text and sounds of this song are talking to my spirit really i think that we love depeche mode for that they try to talk with our spirits by music
Love that this video finally got released! One of their very best and was written specifically about Martin's divorce & how he felt it was affecting his children!
Been waiting for your reaction to this! One of their best for sure! The song is about kids, and going through divorce and how they feel.
Precious was first song after Exciter so it was such a shock! Precious is one of the best DM songs ever 😊
Precious was released as the first single a few months before the record came out. So it was the first taste from the album and the first song release in like 4 years since the Exciter album. Good song that did not disappoint, and is still played on the tours.
Wonderfull song after the divorse from martin🥰
This hits hard if you go thru it by yourself, or your children😌
Thanks for your reaction seph👍🏻☺️
There it is, my favorite DM song. I'd wager most DM fans consider this their favorite 21st century song. The subject matter, the passing mention of God and angels, and the extended final note of the verses, alongside the surreal video, gives it such an ethereal vibe, which in my book, is a 10/10.
The album tracks deserve more love IMO. If they make songs like this all of their work should be respected
Love you Seph. A pleassure to see you enjoying this song so much!
That's my ringtone. It's all I have to say. :)
This is one of my favourite singles Dave's vocals are epic brilliant awesome my all time favourite is everything counts wow wow wow wow memories for me in the early 80s 🎉🎉🎉thx for sharing buddy cheers 🍷🥂🍷
It talks about Martin's divorce and how it affected his children, if I'm not MISTAKEN!!!!!!!!
They still do this live. Says it all. Epic song.
You're absolutely right - in this song everything happened and right time. Great lyrics, melody arrangement and Dave sings like God... Fragile things like kids and broken marriage turned into one of the beautiful and melancholic piece - that's another side of Depeche Mode! ❤😊
I remember, when I've heard it first time I was at work in Aachen, and it was in the radio I was in shock! I just love it!
Angels with silver wings, shouldn't know suffering....what a line ,as you know written to Martins children about the sadness of his divorce..heartbreaking lyrics ,still a massive live song and reached number 4 in uk chart .
great "divorce song" , last depeche MODE single with massive radio airplay, at least here in northern germany (its really poppy and catchy)
i like the song a lot too.
off topic :
check out the 12" of get the balance right (combination mix) one of their best 12" singles from 80s, im sur you will love it. :)
It is a very good song. in the UK it got to number 4
I'm glad you like this song so much cause Precious ultimately got me into Depeche Mode back then. I used to see the video play on TV when I was younger and even though I knew who this band was, I never really got too much into them until I grew older. But this song always stuck with me, it has a really special place in my heart.
Une des chanson que j'aime le plus de DM.Je vous adore...
If god has a Masterplan, that only he understands....
Been waiting and waiting for you to get to this one. I knew you were going to absolutely love this song. It’s definitely one of the best songs that Martin ihas written and it is an absolute Depeche Mode classic.! As many other people, I’ve told you this song is about divorce and he’s basically singing this song to his kids. I’ve been in the situation myself, so this song always hit me hard. Absolutely love it! Top 5 Mode song for me!
I didn’t mean to say, Martin was singing it to MISS, and he wrote the song for his kids. But I guess obviously when writing the song he did sing it, so I guess it is both Lol.
I really like these small instrumentals like at 2:04 and the sound of an aux chord not properly plugged adding to the songs feeling of something being broken
Pure gods. And all devotees know what this hurt martin to write this
It was the first single and a hit
It was the first single from Playing the Angel
This song and Suffer Well were later released on compilation "The Best of Depeche Mode - Vol. 1"
A love how Seth thinks every song's about Relationship haha
Or the illuminati or aliens >.>
@@SephPlayshahahaha
jes ist´s one of my favourite songs from Depeche Mode ever! ist higher lever, as you say! 💓💓💓
This song was my introduction to Depeche Mode, the rest is history 😉 An absolute superb song, Depeche Mode classic as far as I'm concirned.
Nice reaction video Seph, Cheers man 🙂👍
Now imagine you would have listened to all those "without Alan DM is nothing" people and stopped after SOFAD - you would've missed so many highlights.
Martins prolific songwriting really shows in this album, definitely up there with never let me down again and all the other brilliant songs.
"Angeles de alas plateadas, no deberían conocer el dolor", esta frase es épica. Según escribió Martin Gore: Mientras el significado de la mayoría de las canciones de Depeche Mode no son revelados, pues Martin Gore prefiere que las personas encuentren su propio significado, se hizo una excepción con Precious, revelando que la canción fue escrita por sus hijos y lo que ellos debieron haber pasado cuando él se estaba divorciando de su madre.
One of the most Amazing songs of my chilhood.
Thought you'd love this one. Just shows how talented they are. For Martin to write this 25 years into their career. Not many can do this. Still played live now. Depeche Mode's biggest hit in chart terms and up their in You Tube plays behind Enjoy the Silence, Personal Jesus, Never Let Me Down Again and Strangelove.
Dave Gahan getting more beautiful as time passes has been noted since 1988 or so...
...and that cheeky bastard just keeps gettin' prettier, just to spite us! LOL
Our local Mtv was running this video every day in the year of release of the album, along with the hard rock cover of Enjoy the Silence(By Mike Shinoda).
Also was featured in Cinema4D showreal, cause CG in video was made in it.
My God, I love this song!!!
Una de las más conmovedoras canciones compuesta por el maestro Martin L. Gore. 🤗🤗
I'm an old Depeche fan and for me Precious has always taken over the legacy from ETS. DM didn't have anything like this. Airy, inspiring sound, anthemic power, purest voice. And I was just crazy when I heard Ghosts Agayn from the new Memento Mori album. It's like I'm back in time when DMs really stole my heart. Now for me this is the holy trinity - Enjoy the Silence, Precious and Ghosts Again. You can listen to this forever.
In GB Nr. 4, in D Nr. 2 😊
Das Musikvideo wurde von Uwe Flade gedreht. Irgendwie erinnert mich die Grundlinie des Songs an Enjoy The Silence...
Their grestest Hit without Alan
They won MTV Europe band of the year on the back of this
As some said, this is a touching song about the consequences of divorce in Martin's children. Beautiful, but for me the hidden jewel of this record is the last song, "The darkest star". I have curiosity about your reaction when you'd listen to it.
You missed the best lyric line when you paused....
"If God has a masterplan, that only he understands. I hope it's your eyes He's seeing through"
That is my favorite line of all Depeche Mode songs!
Yeah, this is the most emotionally powerful expression of love in the song. How beautiful a thing to feel about the one you care about.
The three eras of Depeche Mode DAAM, DAM and now DM
Perfect!
God's got a sick sense of humor.....😅
Missing the VMAD era,
Their biggest hit of the 2000‘s chart-wise. I think it was a Top 5 all across Europe and even sold well in the US.
If I may say, there was another single prior to Precious which came out between Exciter and PTA. In 2004, Depeche Mode released a Remix Album with a single remix of „Enjoy the Silence“ (by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park). That one was also a huge hit, so 2004/2005 felt like another heyday for the band in a way.
I mean, he overcame a very significant heroin addiction and this is something of his apology / come to jesus song. At least, that is how I read it. It is no secret Dave's struggles through the years, and frequently addiction and poor decisions are resultant of something much more broken and damaged inside. The realizations that come from emerging from profound darkness and emotional brokennes are of course, profound and moving, however they're termed, but he certainly can turn a phrase in this song.
This is one of my favourite songs ❤
I knew you would love this. Don’t forget the single martyr which was released as a single just after this album. You will love that too. It was going to be on this album but for some reason was not.
I agree Seph this is one of their best songs. I remember when this came out first time i heard it was on TV video and I was so happy they were still making music on this level. They did a great job with mixing and production, even without Alan.
Extra song..... Top class
Gran tema, uno de los pesos pesados de la banda!
Short: Hear this live! A banger, believe me. (Seth, I missed the live shows on your chanel.)
One of few gems they've released after Ultra, there's not that many of them sadly, but this one is pure gold
You understood it perfectly
Dave definitely got better looking after ending his bad habits
This was the first single from the album and once i heard it i loved it as well. Some criticize it for being an obviously made to be a single , but who cares it is a good song. Here in the states in LA it did get some radio play, i wouldnt call it a hit single here, but then again outside of Violator singles and people are People before it, most of their tunes werent really radio hits here.
It's about Martin's Divorce and him taking his children's pain
Easily a double banger
It's a song Martin wrote for his children when he divorced from his wife he knew they would suffer because of that.
I feel sad when I hear this song, knowing what the song is about, knowing how hard the divorce must have been for his babies, and knowing how bad Martin's alcoholism got during the early-mid 2000's.
Martin wrote three perfect pop songs in my opinion:
enjoy the silence
Its no good
Precious
That does not mean that I think that these are his best songs but they belong to his best songs. They are the most main stream popsongs I would say which are brilliant.
The fourth one would be „ghosts again“ in my row but this was written by Richard Butler and Martin.
It reached number 4 in the U.K. chart . I play sinner in me much more than this one though 😝👍
Far from an amazing relastionship lol, Martin wrote this song when he was getting divorced, and he wrote this song for his children and how they were getting through the divorce (I hope you learn to trust, have faith in both of us). Also, Precious is one of their most famous songs, alongside Enjoy The Silence, Personal Jesus and Just Can't Get Enough.
hi, are you going to listen to this live?
Honestly, DM had lost me with Exciter, but once I heard this song on the radio, they had won me back. I’m not sure where exactly this song would rate for me but definitely upper tier.
hi seph not bad this one yes? undoubtedly the best of this opus according to many people, but not my favorite 😅
I suppose this is way down your tier list, like D or F, right? :p
Hahaha yeah right on the bottom 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 😆
i think that the majority likes this song, because it sounds very mainstream. i even think its more mainstream than enjoy the silence. don’t get me wrong, the lyrics are great and so is the tune, i really like it, but for me it‘s nothing special and a little bit too boring 😬 maybe it’s also because i know this song like forever 😅 glad you found another banger tho 🤩
Ok bro, I noticed you like more pop things from DM than alternative things, as for example John the Revelator and Sinner in Me ,even if it’s masterpieces totally. Wow because it’s more indie pop what you like from DM. Just don’t forgot, DM isn’t pop band and you can’t still just waiting songs for radios. And PTA so fat isn’t pop album. So I will be really curious to your reaction to Alan’s solo albums aka Recoil. But rather don’t try listening it because you will be get stroke 😂 DM get melody but Alan don’t know what is melody. And never will be know.
Maybe their last top-top-top song. More good ones, but not this level.
Hmm, would not say this ist the best DM Song… but i agree to the lyrics, this one is so mutch touching the heart🥰
In the charts this song reach #12 in switzerland, the Album after came on #1😊
Probably in a minority but I am not a massive fan of this track. Don’t ask me why, it just doesn’t work for me. Don’t get me wrong, I get the words and meaning, just not a fan of it. All of that said, it is a decent live track. Forgive me
