I told you, it's a masterpiece! So powerful, so dark, sounds great, éventuellement better live with Martin's baking vocals. I've goosebumps each time I listen to this track.
That's Depeche delivering yet another masterpiece.

FUN FACT!!! Check out the World premiere of wrong live on german tv. The song was supposed to be released as the first single from Sounds of the universe on this evening but not before 9pm. Me and thousand other fans catched the leak on this morning before. Watch the audience at the premiere…. Everybody is singing the song in full!!!😂😂😂

Glad you liked it ,i was worried you may find the video too dark, some people who have reacted to it didnt care for the video, but I think the video is good and different , one of the best ones not done by Anton. The song is also great, one of the best post Ultra songs..

I think Alan would have done this much better, and in particular much more interesting. He probably had stripped away the loudness and screaming, kept the darkness and found a different rhythm in the song and deepened the sound, so to speak.

One of my favorite but for me it’s the kind of song the most difficult for Dave to sing live. I think to Barrel of a Gun and John the Revelator too. Very good tracks but hard for him live. For I feel you they changed the key and play it lower for live versions
I prefer the in the studio version of Wrong. In the video, Andy was actually playing the keyboard.
I love the fact that the song is pretty melodic. A tune I can hum … Too many of their actual songs gives me the impression (it is totally personnal) that they don’t have a real melody I can hook to. But this one : perfection ! 🎉

It's on the concert that was released, although they switched Hole to Feed and Wrong live. Also Wrong has been on subsequent tours as well including the Memento Mori tour until they switched it with Black Celebration which has an epic intro.
There's a YT vid where the guys are in the studio playing it live. That's the only live version I like. When they have concerts, they always play the song in a lower key. Maybe by the time they finally start the tour, Dave can't sing the song in the original key because his voice is strained? idk

The video is crazy, and Martin's singing gives me chills.
Im surprised no one else on UA-cam has done what im doing with DM. Its very sad in a way too! Most reactors might only listen to one or 2 of their songs and call it a day ya know 😕

WRONG! This is one of their last true classics. I love how everything intertwines by the end. Only Dave could pull this vocal off. Even though there's not much melody it's not easy. Just imagine some wimpy singer trying it, it'd be terrible. This calls for real power. I love the vocals all together going Wrong! Classic Depeche sound, it reminded me of the old days, songs like People Are People or Told You So. The lyrics make me think of some old timer in a bar, talking through his beer. Yep, I was born on the wrong side of life. Great!
You should watch the Live In Barcelona version, I think you'll be surprised when you hear Dave's vocals on that one😂

On the release they made a free promotional app for iOS, that was interactive album logo, playing and combining different samples from the album.
"Wrong" was the front single of the album, so yes, it was on live tours, I think even some later ones too.
I think the guy in the drivers seat tied up is Anton Corbin!

I do not know. With a few exceptions, something is missing with Depeche after the time around Alan's departure.
This is mostly just screamed, hard surface and shrill. Very stereotypical without human vibes in the sound. Not only is something missing here, but more than that in my opinion.
The song itself isn't terribly bad, but nothing special either.
Will you make a video of Alan's version of the album's opening track "In chains" Seph?
Not that I necessarily think you'd like his version better than the original on the record - rather probably the other way around since you held the album version of In chains in high esteem in your previous video.
But his version, and the soundscape he sets, pretty well reflects the difference between Depeche with and without Alan in the band.
This album was way too underrated...
This is my favourite DM song in the 2000s, I was so hyped for the album but the album was almost nothing like this? I like SOUNDS OF THE UNIVERSE now quite a lot actually for its experimental nature and production, but after PLAYING THE ANGEL comeback it was a complete let down. I think MEMENTO MORI is what should have happened after PTA hahah
The song had potential but needed some love on the chorus. could have elevated the song with someone who can develop chord changes. you know who.
