It was so enjoyable to be able to watch with the volume turned completely off.
I go straight to the Edding markers for small spot repairs these days. You can mess around with wood paste and stain forever, but the more you try and perfect it, the worse it gets.
Hard wax for floorboard repairs, melted in, and then scraped off with a small spatchelor, is a lot quicker. Then you can use the markers to correct and blend out any color mis-matches.
Brilliant results though! Those ‘Surfboard’ style Danish coffee tables are a fantastic design that never gets old.

If i do the sam3 process with teak oil, can i then go over it with a polyurethane varnish? For protection? Thanks
That would work but be sure to let the oil sink in properly and wait a day or two!

Was it Teak Oil that you applied for the finish? I have a 1960's Danish Modern dining table and four chairs designed by Johannes Andersen for Christian Linneberg. I was surprised how easily you were able to sand off the original finish. Thanks for the tips. Especially the ironing to raise the wood. A shout out from Houston, Texas via Little Rock, Arkansas, USA.
Hi! Such a great designer! It was danish teak oil. The table had a really old finish so it was easy to remove. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching 🙏🏻 I will post a new video this week where I restore a really messed up teak table.
If you decide to undertake refinishing such a piece, be aware the top is veneer, so you're better off using a chemical stripper to remove the finish, as opposed to going straight to sanding. The less sanding you throw at these pieces, the better. It'll be one of the steps for sure, but shouldn't be the first. Just my experience.

Why did you not narrate your process? Your video would have been so much better. There were some advanced techniques like the iron process where you didn't bother to explain what you were doing and why.

Oh that explains it. When you moistened the area with the scratch and then ironed it, what made the scratch go away? Just curious...
The heat and moist raises the wood fibers and makes scratches and dents disappear 🙂
