Very interesting technique of sanding the oil into the wood. I learned something new.
😀 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Yeah, I noticed that too. I’ll have to try it out.
It really makes a difference 🙂💪🏻
Snyggt!
Tackar!
Oh, it is gorgeous!!! Well done.
Kind words, thank you!!
Looking good for sure!
Thanks 😊
Very nice... I like a wipe poly myself
Nice work!
Thanks!!
Flipping Draws lead me here. That sideboard is beautiful! ✊🏾
Thanks - and welcome! 🙏🏻
Wonderful work! I'm so glad I subscribed. flippingdrawers was right. You do do a great job, too! Like how you restored this piece 😊
Thank you Jenny! Stay tuned for two upcoming videos 🙂🙏🏻
I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s-not a huge MCM fan, but this piece is gorgeous! I would have kept it, too! Even not fitting with my older furniture.😂
Love this style of furniture! Thanks to flippingdrawers for recommending me this channel. Cant wait for the collab! :)
Thanks for watching! And yes - the collab gonna be awesome 😀
Looks great
Thanks! It was a fun project!
I never see you work on the inside of the pieces. Do you go over the inside of the drawers and clean the up and give them a good wax refresher to help the dry wood. The drawers on this piece were really dirty inside and out. I see other people sand them to get rid of stains and then use something like Howard's Feed and Wax to refresh them. Do you do something like that? I can't tell as the drawers are all closed in the reveal. The piece looks beautiful from the outside. I love people who have such a talent to restore furniture back to like new.
Hi and thanks for watching! I cleaned out the drawers and in this case it did not need more love 🙂
Love it👍🏼
Thanks 🙏🏻 I regret flipping it …
Greetings from Florida! My favorite era of wood furniture ! You have worked wonders with this piece. I would be proud to have this in my home, also! Subscribed today!
Thank you and welcome 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I have a similar piece my parents brought back from Finland when we lived there in the 1960's. Mine has sliding doors on the open portion. I am encouraged to see how good you made this look; there is therefore hope for my piece. Tack så mycket!
Tack själv och lycka till om du ger dig på en renovering av möbeln!
I am a fan of mid-century furniture and I am a big fan of your work, Anders! The magic you did on this sideboard is gorgeous,. I hope you kept it, I have looked for one just like this for years!!
What an amazing transformation, doesn't even look like the same piece! The wood grain is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful color! An extremely stunning job! 😊
Thank you so much! It came out great 😊
We lived just outside Stockholm for a few years. Had better summers than when we had to live Melbourne, Australia. Husband’s job made us nomads for quite a while. Loved Sweden. 🏴
Thank you for sharing! The summers here can be great but last ond was terrible 😅 Rain every day! Snd you are right - it’s a great country. Thank you for watching 🙏🏻
Good on you for such a splendid restoration! I am so happy I found your channel via @flippingdrawers. I was just a baby when we moved into our house that my father finished building in the autumn of 1962. It was a typical American ranch style of the time, with natural hardwood floors and attractive but affordable mid century modern style furnishings. Even as a young child that aesthetic appealed to me. Thank you for preserving this beautiful furniture.
Thanks you for sharing! I really enjoy bringing the life back to these furniture 🙏🏻 Stay tuned for upcoming videos.
Nice work!!
Thanks!!
My parents had furniture like this. It all got disposed of when they were gone as it was unpopular. Now it's impossible to find pieces to refurbish, at a good price. Beautiful job!
Thank you! Agree, they are hard to find but really beautiful 😍
I watched your challenge with Jay (Flipping Drawers) and immediately subscribed!
Hi and welcome! 🙂 Be sure to watch my next video! A beaten up midcentury coffee table!!
Nice work...Flipping Drawers sent me. ;).
Thank you!! 😀
💛
I love the angled drawers on this piece. I would have had a hard time letting it go too! Nice restoration work!
Thank you 😊
Hello from Jay at Flipping Drawers
Hi and welcome 🤗
💛
When you talked about applying the stripper generously it reminded me of several videos I've watched where they'd apply the stripper so thinly you could see spots that didn't have any and sure enough not only did the whole thing not strip well but every spot you saw they missed didn't strip at all. The funny thing is they always blamed it on the stripper and talked about how useless it was. Lol
True! I learned this the hard way. Nowdays I always apply a lot!! Works like magic 🪄 Thank you fir watching 🙏🏻🙂
Hi from Flipping Drawers. He recommended your channel so we’ll take e look at your projects
Hi and welcome! I hope you enjoy the videos 🙏🏻🙂
💛

Beautiful! Yes, it is a keeper.
Just spectacular! I’d keep it too!
Beautiful job, love it!❤
Beautiful 😍
Great job - both the work itself and the video!
I absolutely love this piece…
Beautiful job!!!
Good to know about the 45 degree angle when scraping the edge of veneer. That’s a tip I can use. Thank you!
Great! Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Looks great 👍
The water marks are from all those swingin' cocktail parties.
Yep, god bless the furnitures history 🙏🏻
Amazing job as always. Hope all is well. Thank you for da videos. God bless.
It was a really fun and rewarding project! 🙏🏻
A really lovely piece, fully refreshed by your ministrations. Excellent work; I would be proud to have it in my own house.
Thsnk you!!
Really beautiful
Thank you so much!
Halla,
I Googled hello in Swedish. The end result looks great. You are so right about "the devil is in the details. The style of the drawers, especially the hidden handles, really make this piece special. Smart choice to keep it. The lamp you used to show the reveal is so cool. Is it vintage?
Thanks
Hallå!! 😀 I agree with the you! A lovely design. I will keep it for sure! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Beautiful!!
Thanks!! 🙂🙏🏻
Do you think the black was original to the sideboard or some later "fix"? It is beautiful. Love mid mod!!!!❤😊
Hi! Its original. I looked up some images online 🙂
Absolutely amazing piece and you brought back to life beautifully
Thank you!
I love the glass dish on top of the book. Do you know who made it?
Hi! Im not sure about the designer or brand. We bought it on a fleemarket. Thanks for watching the video 🙏🏻
So nice to see a UA-camr from Sweden! My brother lives in Sweden, in Vetlanda!! 😊 Watching you from sunny Florida 🌞
You are doing beautiful work 👏👏
Just subscribed, found you through Flipping Drawers 😊
Hi and welcome! Fun to hear that you have a brother in my country! We actually have a really sunny september week here in Sweden. Thanks for watching my videos 🙏🏻
Beautiful! ❤❤ can you use a dauber ball with the oil?
Thanks! I’m not really sure I understand the question…
Just Found your channel, love your work and the beautifull woord color❤, watching from Belgium
Big thanks 🙏🏻 And welcome!!
Great job as always, it turned out great. I was glad to see that you used polyurethane on the piece for extra durability. Many of the refinishers I watch on youtube use shellac, spray on lacquer, or even finishes like odies oil. Do you ever use oil-based poly on your work or just the water based?
Hi and thank you! I only worked with water based poly. Most due to the easyness of cleaning the brush etc but I will try oil based some day and see if there is any difference!
That is beautiful, and exactly what I'm looking for too ! You did a fantastic job ! Sincerely, your new subscriber, Cat
Welcome Cat! Thanks for watching and the kind words 🙂🙏🏻
That is a sexy piece of furniture
Why do you use the scraper first - why not use the orbital sander from start?
To save some sand paper! 🙂
Those old lacquer finishes clog sandpaper really quickly. Having seen this, I’ll be buying one as soon as I can find a decent quality tool and blades. Sandvick?
I’m afraid the backing track really annoys me - it’s so repetitive so I listen in silence - or rather I watch in silence
That’s a wonderful piece! What oil did you use on it? Looks great!!😊
Thank you! I used a Danish oil 👍🏻
What is the oil you're using there?
Hi! I used danish teak oil. Thank you for watching!
I enjoy the videos a lot. Thanks for making them. What brand of polyurethane are you using? Is it oil or water based?
It’s water based 👌🏻
I understand creativity but the drawers look broken to me. I couldn't buy this piece without walking past it and wanting to fix the drawers. It's ocd or something like that.
Great work but please change the music I’d rather listen to you explains what you are doing . I think your commentary adds to the video and we like to hear what and how you are doing what you are doing Ta.
