The table looks great but we have all come to expect excellence from you and we are not disappointed. You are a craftsman who takes pride in his work. We should have more people like you. As usual dear Daisy put a grin on my face, she is so gorgeous and in beautiful condition. Her coat is glossy and healthy looking. She is the epitome of a loved and cared for animal.
Wow Pamela, your comments are so lovely and kind that I got a little choked up reading them! Thankyou so much for your loyalty and continued support, the world needs more lovely people like you 😀❤️❤️🐶🐶
Pamela, I felt exactly the same when I saw Daisy, she is such a healthy, happy wee dog and that's lovely to see. That paw coming up to say 'pet me more' speaks volumes about the love she receives. I enjoy watching FlippingDrawers channel too, he is 'cat people' and the neighbours' cats pester him for the love - it's not often a cat lets you cuddle them like a baby :-)
It looks lovely. I have a trick for places where you have to use wood filler. A toothbrush, drag an old tooth brush through the filler gently when it is nearly dry, in the direction of the grain. Then when you stain the piece you will get grain like streaks on the filler. Also, when using the markers and they are too large for the spot you're trying to match, use a tooth pick, just rub it on the marker then the table.
Oh David! What a sweetheart you are to have taken on that project. I can't imagine it looked that good on the wedding day. Wonderful job! Thanks for always sharing Daisy, too. She always makes me smile.
Wowsy! The color combination using the rosewood was beautiful! Those legs are gorgeous, especially with the grain showing through, what an amazing end result, I just love it! Wish we could see the owner's response, or how they reacted 😊.
Oh well done. The difference is like night and day. Of course you finished the legs and skirting. You have a proper work ethic that wouldn’t allow you to do half a job and it’s called professionalism. You’ll have to let us know how much your neighbour liked it. I’m sure he was very pleased.
The finished product is GORGEOUS! I cannot fathom how utterly terrible and awkward and just plain WRONG it would've looked had you not addressed the legs. However, I don't think OCD is to blame for that. There's a much better word to describe the reason why you finished the entire table. It's called PROFESSIONALISM.
THANK YOU!! When he said OCD I was like absolutely NOT. It's called not doing it "half a$$ed". I do think you called it right, very "professional" 💜💜💜😘
I have this table, I inherited it from my nan. It is also well worn. My husband started sanding it and went through the veneer in a similar place and we have been looking for a new one. Now we aren't! You have inspired me to have a go at renovating it!! I'll be following your video step by step 👍
Oh wow. Such a great job. No shade to the owner but I really hope it's looked after better now. Looking forward to seeing what piece you got in exchange.
What a beautifully rescued table! Hard to imagine that was the same table. So happy you worked on the kegs, too. They have such a lovely grain. Can’t wait to see the piece you were given as payment, David! Your artistry and skill in giving new life to tired and almost dead furniture make me so happy!
It's crazy how potential UA-cam revenue can change the formula of trade. I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to seeing the other video as well, and I haven't even seen this one yet (I just paused after your intro). I already know they'll both be amazing.
I can not imagine the owner not loving the results. And I cannot imagine you not doing the legs to match. You are a detail oriented person who goes the extra mile. Looking forward to seeing the piece you got for doing the table. Daisy reminds me of my husband's little dog. this morning he sat on hubby's lap and flopped his head back on his chest and gave an absolutely adoring look. He is hubby's shadow.
Thanks so much, I am a detail person and once I’d cleaned the table I knew I couldn’t leave those legs 😂😂 Dogs are the best, nothing but love in their hearts. Daisy is my little superstar 😀🐶❤️
That is just gorgeous! I did not have high hopes for this one, but you brought that poor sad table back to life. You took a tired old swan and turned her into a princess. Hugs to Daisy!
Hi there and firstly THANKYOU for buying me the coffees, you’re very kind and generous 😀❤️ The “payment” piece is a cracker, well it’s not but it will be. There are actually 3 pieces I’m doing so it’ll be a challenge but I think you’ll enjoy the video 😀😀❤️❤️❤️
Wow David, once again a fantastic makeover, your client will be blown away by the results...thanks for the Daisy interlude...lol we need a Daisy and Mabel channel...wouldn't that be a hoot. And again awesome restoration...😊
Hi Kim, thanks so much as always. A Daisy and Mabel channel would be amazing although it would be carnage trying to film them both together as they are mad😂😂😂🐶🐶❤️❤️
Imagine the memories created around that table. Countless meals, morning coffee, chats, homework, card games, laughter, and love. I hope your client loved it, it was beautiful!
Good job, nice to see new life in an old piece of furniture. Had to smile at time slot 6.27 when you put the scraper onto the table blade side down. When at school in the 70's I remember getting the cane for putting a plane down, blade edge on the workpiece. Woodwork teacher insisted that blades should always be left on their sides and to this day I still make sure the blades only touch the work when the tool is in my hand :)
David, you don’t have OCD you are a true artisan which takes pride in every piece that you work on as if it was yours. What an incredible restoration to a very worn used table, but it’s gorgeous hands down. I love seeing Daisy, she is absolutely beautiful and well trained, but more importantly she loves her owner as much as he loves her.
You friend/ customer received a gift from you. It was a very nice job based on what your parameters were. I bet he was pleased. Looking forward to seeing what he gave you and how you will handle that. Carol from California
Great Job!! That old table is ready for another 50 + years. I'm sure your neighbor was thrilled. Thank you for your videos and friendly hugs to you and Daisey Girl :) Cheers!
You are such a Sweetheart. It looks like a brand new table. Love the color. Did the neighbor like it? I hope the next video is your "payment" piece! TFS.😊❤

Hi Gail, thanks very much. The show was really good but it was better meeting Jay face to face for the first time. We are really good mates now and speak nearly every day 😂😂👍👍❤️
Having been married almost 50 years myself, I can imagine how thrilled the owner is to get this table back looking beautiful again! It was likely the center of many, many family memories. Beautiful job!
Beautiful, thank you, and just a short comment perfection is overrated! You have given the stable another 50 years of great memories to be made while using it. Thank you again
You are right David it does look a million times better and as usual it's up to your exacting standard, it's a beautiful restoration. Always happy to see Daisy she's a sweetheart. Xx
Wow, the table looks so much better, beautiful job! Sometimes I don't think you realize that you are the furniture whisperer 😊! Your neighbor will be speechless at how gorgeous it turned out! And Daisy is a sweetheart! Thank you for sharing your awesome talent with all of us! Give Daisy an extra treat! Beautiful job!
Success! 🌟 You did a beautiful job. I’ll bet the table didn’t look this good brand new. Bless your for doing this for you neighbor. I eagerly await your next video-and darlin’ Daisy! 🥰
You have done a great job Dave from the way it was, sure the Customer will be happy with it, I know I would be. You and Daisy have a nice day and keep um comin Mate !!!.😀😀👍👍🐕🐕.
Mid-century furniture had so much class with wonderful designs - and that continues to this day. Your beautiful restoration of this well loved table demonstrates how much it was regarded all those years ago and shows how easily it fits into modern life. An excellent job.
So --- how did he like the table? I think, considering his expectations, that it is absolutely gorgeous. You returned a lovely piece of very much loved and well used furniture back to a beautiful piece with years of life ahead. Bravo! Give Daisy a snuggle for me.
Most of my furniture is mid century modern and I love it. You did a wonderful job on this piece. I burned through the veneer on the edge of a dining table and was just sick about it. I think I should have replaced the area, but used furniture pens and it looks awful. You’ve given me the courage to “fix” it the best I can. PS…what is Daisy’s breed? She is adorable.
Hi Monica, burning through veneer is very annoying but things happen and all we can do is our best to fix it. My Daisy is a Blue Roan English Cocker Spaniel and she is a little love 😀🐶❤️
It turned out so beautifully! I like the color change from before. I think the customer must have liked that, too. It made the whole table like new, yet familiar, as well.
This is just passing on something I have seen done. When there are raised area's if you use a hypodermic needle and inject glue into the bubble....lay wax paper so as not to stick....then add weight. Don't know if it works for all items but I used the idea and it worked on a dresser top. Maybe an idea for the future
Hi Tammy, I know the method you’re referring to but that is generally used if only the veneer has lifted from the substrate. The problem with this was that the actual substrate (chipboard) has swollen/expanded as it has taken water so unfortunately this method wouldn’t have worked. Thanks for taking the time to let me know though, I always appreciate tips and tricks 😀😀❤️

Just stunning! The final color(s) of the stain looks so rich and really did tie the top to the legs. The bald spot on the tabletop ended up looking like 😮a knot in the wood to me. Excellent work!
What a transformation. The Rosewood stain is perfect - such a rich tone with that lovely grain. I totally agree with you - you HAD to do the legs too. I bet your customer was thrilled with the result. It's fascinating watching you use your skills - thanks for sharing. Take care 🙂

Just stunning! The final color(s) of the stain looks so rich and really did tie the top to the legs. The bald spot on the tabletop ended up looking like 😮a knot in the wood to me. Excellent work!
Thanks so much Karen 😀❤️
A brand new table.👍👍

Very nicely done given the constraints. I hope your neighbour was pleased with the result.
Cheers Michael, it was frustrating that I could do it to a level I would have liked but my neighbour was over the moon with the finished table 😀😀👍
What a transformation. The Rosewood stain is perfect - such a rich tone with that lovely grain. I totally agree with you - you HAD to do the legs too. I bet your customer was thrilled with the result. It's fascinating watching you use your skills - thanks for sharing. Take care 🙂
Hi Michael, thanks so much for your kind comments as always. Your support is really appreciated 😀😀👍
