It works. Just make sure to wash the excess off after and treat with a protectant like 303 from then on. It chemically melts the plastic (and clear coat, so be gentle with the application). Revealing the undersurface the way sanding a piece of wood does.

i used wd40 to restore the black convertible top on my shitbox and it worked so good
only stays this way for one day

The WD in WD40 stands for water displacement. It’s literally a water repellent oil.

1 hour. I tried it.
depends of the weather but it never last more than a week. This is for something for a day, like a car show ,etc.
