been using ceramic trim coat in and out of cars for years, outside good for 200 washes, inside even longer for factory look shiny trim.comes in different size packs of wipes, one more than enough for a car.good vid mate.
This stuff might be ideal for what I am doing. I had to install a new lower front door molding, but it is not quite as black on the adjacent one the rear door. Perhaps this is the solution to make them match.
I see you choose "mid grey". How is it possible to correctly match the level of black? I think my Tundra plastic is more of a very dark grey. It may have supposed to have been black, but how would you know?
Hi. Nice info. i have nissan micra k12 2004,and i was wondering if i can paint the passenger airbag cover with duplicolor vinyl and fabric. The passenger airbag cover in nissan its something between vinyl an plastic, and it had lost it colour due to hand sanitizer .Is it safe to pain that part? Thanks in advance!
I'm sure it's fine to paint it. I'd recommend taking out the airbag to paint it as to not stink up the car with paint odor, just disconnect the battery first and leave it for a few minutes so it won't deploy
Does it just fade away over time or flake off over time.... id like to do my side by side ( utv ) , iv been using ceracote or wipe new and they work great i get about a year out of them before i have to do it again but its very time consuming
Hey dude. Doesn’t fade at all! The bumper on my van is still just as fresh as when I applied it 3 years ago. It’s doesn’t flake either, it’s almost like a dye.
It’s a shame they don’t do a clear coat as it would probably work on headlights after you have prepared them for sealing maybe. as it can give black plastic a permanent shine, why can’t it give clear plastic a permanent shine, maybe that’s just wishful thinking, as a lot of my old cars with plastic headlights need restoring because of fading. 🤷♂️

I’ll have to check it out dude!
I’ve had zero come backs with this stuff during my bodyshop years, but always open to trying new stuff.
pretty expensive! $53 plus $28 for shipping lol
3 years only?
Thanks Mate, will check it out being an Aussie myself. On sale at the moment at Repco.
It's an Aussie product that is NOT available in the U.S.
Shipping from down under is pretty expensive.

2 videos in 2 days! I'm gonna have to get some of this, will make the world of difference to my car 👍 thanks Chris😎
But should I use first the adhesion promoter?
You can use one if you like as a precaution 🤙🏻
BEST and easiest black plastic car parts restore video EVER!
Stoked you liked it dude!
That really was impressive. I have no choice but to give it a go. Thank you for making this video.

We use C5 or Solution Finish...a paint that bonds plus works, would be a great option.
May need to get some of this, wonder how well it will work on 3d printed parts
Works perfectly dude!
Been going through all your videos. Keep them coming. Fellow subi nut here.
Really appreciate it dude!!
The price of the Plasticolor varies massively. Amazon are super expensive
Will it work on plastics that arnt black to bring with?
If this type of trim has very light scratches, can it be polished first or does that ruin the plastic further?
Thanks alot I have a pro master van the trim on that driver me nuts I will definitely try thanks for the info can't wait to try
defo looking into this for my bmw, front and back of car
I see you choose "mid grey". How is it possible to correctly match the level of black? I think my Tundra plastic is more of a very dark grey. It may have supposed to have been black, but how would you know?
There is a sample book that has all the shades to match.
I’ve found that the best match do a dark grey is called ‘traffic black’ that’s a mix of both.
Which is better Solution Finish or this ProXL PlastiColor? Thank you

Hi,
Wonder if we have an Australian equivalent... thanx for ur vid
How does this cope against a jet washer when the car is cleaned? Will this come off or show fading?
Totally fine dude! It’s almost like a dye for plastics. My van plastics have been perfect for over 4 years now!
I have stain on my dashboard from dried phone holder suction. I cannot remove it. Any tips?
@@BuildCreate Awesome, thanks man. I will give this a try if I can build up the nerve to take some plastics off

@@hughrs if you need to, just de-grease it and give it a light coat.
Excellent info dude! 🛠👍
great video. Can this be used on plastic rad grill mouldings which appear to be a harder plastic?
Of course!
Amazing stuff! Thanks, Chris🤙
My pleasure sir. It’s incredible stuff.
My ineterior plastics are a light grey, would this be able to dye them black ?
It’s a shame they don’t do a clear coat as it would probably work on headlights after you have prepared them for sealing maybe. as it can give black plastic a permanent shine, why can’t it give clear plastic a permanent shine, maybe that’s just wishful thinking, as a lot of my old cars with plastic headlights need restoring because of fading. 🤷♂️
they do make clearcoat, done my headlights with it
Can you try just spray paint Clear coat and make a video? Wondering how that would work
Thank you i will try it on my fiero trim
Well done 👏🏼 👍🏼 thank you for the demo and info 🏴🇬🇧
You’re welcome my man 🤙🏻
Just use petrol oil in order to hydrate the plastic...Black plastic are made of petrol...And it require to be hydrated, without it it become grey....
Is this the same with petroleum jelly?
If plastic is made of petrol or oil and oil is made of dinosaurs then is plastic made of dinosaurs 🦕🦕
@@MtonJsonHmmm. Could be.

Good to know. thank you!
Do I need to put anything on it to make sure it doesn't get sun damaged?
@@claysoggyfries Nope!
How does it work on plastic chrome
What about exterior rubber? Would this also work?
Hard to say dude. Rubber is tricky, sometimes products can react and make it sticky.
Great video, do you know of any similar products for brown/tan trim?
Doesn't appear to be readily available in the States.
They’ve only just launched in the States. So might take a while before it’s readily available.
Could only find the product via Mail Order, with shipping at about $15 (same as product)...any other way to get it? (Los Angeles, CA)
Looks like good stuff!
It’s seriously good dude!

@@TIIRONC5H yeah, you’ll need a strong solvent of sorts to strip it all off.

Thanks for checking it out dude.
Doesn't this require clear coat?.
Nope!
I have been educated. Thank you.👍
Are you in Florida?
No sir. UK!
Where the updates so long
I can’t find this anywhere in the states ugh
ProXL are just getting started in the US….being a UK company it’s taking a while, but it’s happening!
Very cool!
It’s amazing stuff dude!
Let me know if you want me to scan your headlight. Also happy to help with CAD work.@@BuildCreate
Who sells it ?
Thanks
you could also use a heat gun to vaporize the oxidation. if you have a heat gun, it's free and permanent
It’s an option, although it won’t give you an even finish and can make the plastic more brittle.
It will dry out the plastic, reduce the oils plus make it brittle..
Yeah do not do this lol, it will break down the plastic. That part is permanent 😂
Nothing is permanent
Except change.
Death.....
That’s some decent stuff my good man I will definitely give it a try 👍
I agree nothing is permanent..
4 years and counting on my van bumper….
Nice! Looks great!
Will be ordering some for my retro french pugs !
Get on it dude! Plenty of shades to choose from. This stuff is witchcraft 😂
