Coconut oil from Lidl's....couple of quid and works a treat. Plastics, window rubbers and faded paint.

I've used Sonax "Xtreme Kunstoff Gel" - "Xtreme Plastic Restorer Gel". It pretty much instantly improves faded/oxidised trim and plastics. Sonax also make a rubber restorer which is great for putting on rubber seals in the car, can greatly reduce wind noise if the seals are getting a bit tired.

Penetrol! Absolutely beautiful restoration of my 32 year old bumper to its full glory! Use a cloth to avoid streaking and wear a mask to avoid vapors. I put on three coats after each dried completely over a number of days. Really looks great after just one coat but I found three coats wearing rubber gloves made my bumpers look brand new! Wait a couple of days between coatings!

Have used it myself and it's great stuff. I think thin applications work well otherwise it can look a bit lacquer-like. Used in on a black roof box, little bits of door trim. AND also used it on a very faded gloss-painted front for which had turned very chalky. Probably worked best on old dry pain to give it a gloss look back.

Another shout for Cherry Blossom shoe/boot polish. Works a treat.
I only hear of people saying avoid using heat on plastics as it weakens it and turns it brittle and makes it more prone to cracking.

Errm not sure I should admit this but I've uses kiwi liquid shoe polish it lasts about 6 months and two are just about enough to do a vivaro with two coats. Emptied them out into a takeaway tub and used a sash bruah to get into the nooks and crannies.

Issue of black plastics isnt getting it black but rather keeping it black for longer than 2 years so far best solution I have seen on youtube was using ceramic coating as it not only brings back the colour but sort of prilotects it for some time still re applications is nedded thou

I recently purchased an old van and the bumpers etc. have faded significantly. They would certainly benefit from something like this. However I am also of the opinion you can't polish a turd. Perhaps pertena rather than mutton dressed as lamb would be better. Its an 09 plate and its been named the Silver Fox. Grey and old but still plenty in the tank!
