responds lost in vegas jim root metalcore reaction
The guitarist for Sabbath, Tony Iommi, lost the tips of his two fingers in an industrial accident. He crafted artificial finger tips and used them playing. He is an example that no one should ever give up on their dreams.
iJax Jerry Garcia is another example. Learned to play with his middle finger missing. Also today is the 23rd anniversary of his final show with the Grateful Dead before he passed away.
Rick Allen losing his arm as well.
Matthew Drake I forgot about him.
Tats some useless information .tnks anyway
THAT BAND INVENTED METAL ! :)
from what I can tell from this video - But not headbanging
FOR YOU. HAHA
SplendidTruth, because they were Stoned AF back then! And 'headbanging' wasn't really a 'thing' until about the 1980's! Meanwhile the 60's called & would like their ugly bell bottoms back! Peace all!
that's motörhead.
hahahaha yess you're right. They sounded more punk
The true fathers of metal black Sabbath
Black sabbath is metallicas grandfather
@@kajg3134 true lol! and eddie van halens father
In Finland this song is a song that every band that plays gigs in bars have to know Black Sabbath - Paranoid because the drunk finns can and will request Paranoid and literally boo the band out of the bar if they don't know the song XD... (It doesn't happen exclusively to rock and metal bands, I once saw a western country band playing Paranoid under bar pressure XD)
If the band is really good, they might get off the hook since the drunks don't actually care if what they're hearing is really Paranoid or not...
MyFaceIsMahShield lol so true. I cant go to bars yet because i am not 18 but if i hear anyone play anywhere i will shout "soita paranoid".
I was picking up a friend at a local bar here in canada and there was 6 or 7 fins at said bar, there was a country band playing, they finished their song and asked for requests, all I heard over the other people requesting songs is "PLAY PARANOID" over and over on. The band obliged and actually did a good job, even thought they were limited with drums, 1 acoustic guitar and 1 banjo.
Are you finnish? If you are, SUOMI MAINITTU! TORILLEEE!!!!
Perkelee
I have the understanding that at least in US the equivalent song in same meaning is Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird.
The very first metal band. Legends Indeed
N.I.B - Black Sabbath
I prefer the Primus cover of NIB over the original.
WingZero172 a.k.a SilentCobra04 both are dope as fuck. But he should definitely hear the original :P
Tesalos yes
Tesalos Slipknot
Alex Hefnern, fun fact: Toni Iommi the guitar player lost two finger tips on his string hand and plays till this day with metal thimble prosthetics with leather wrapped tips. HE LOST TWO FINGER TIPS AND STILL IS ONE OF THE GREATEST TO EVER PLAY
Explanation of the bat head episode: Ozzy was on stage in Des Moines in Iowa in '82 when an audience member threw a live bat at him. Ozzy, thinking it was a rubber toy, bit the poor thing's head off as a stunt. The bat bit him too, forcing him to have to be tested for rabies.
But whilst one of the more famous Ozzy escapade, it's not the most gruesome, or the most fucked up. The year before, with his solo career not making much headway, his manager decided that the best way to get the US label Epic Records to take him more seriously would be to have him attend their annual sales convention, and have him make a speech lauding the label's efforts in the run-up to the US release of his debut solo album. The speech was supposed to culminate with Ozzy releasing three white doves. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, Ozzy happened. You see, on the way to the convention he'd drunk a bottle of brandy, and he got bored as this PR woman just "kept going on and on" at him. So Ozzy asks her if she liked animals, and then proceeded to pull one of the doves out and, in his own words, "... bit its fucking head of. Just to shut her up." He then did the same to the second dove, spitting the head on the table. The woman collapses screaming and security drag Ozzy out of the building. Arden then makes certain that every newspaper and magazine gets hold of all the gory details, so every man and his dog knows what happened, and almost immediately his album "The Blizzard of Ozz" saw a massive surge in sales.
There's no such thing as "Bad Press" LOL!
Alex, if you haven't heard, people have made claims and debates that Black Sabbath is THEE founding father of metal! No doubt that all the songs you have reacted to on your channel have influences from them (Black Sabbath). Please like so he can see this!
Mrk00k00dud3
Who Debates That Sabbath are the Grandfathers of Metal?
I have never come across anyone who questions it...
DARKHELMET N DEFIANCE some people say that while they championed it they didn’t actually start it.
I think that’s splitting hairs though, Sabbath are the first metal band for mine.
Shmick !
There were other Bands at the time of course ,and I agree with you 100% They Championed it. They were the Pioneers.. And They laid the Groundwork for the rest to Come...They Brought it to the Masses. And That makes Them The Grandfathers/Godfathers of Metal in Almost everyones Opinion ...I just have never met anyone who would challenge that...
Debbie Harry released the first known Rap Song and the same with that I have never met anyone that claims her as The Mother of Rap.
Who do these people believe could make a Challenge for Sabbath's place in Metal?
DARKHELMET N DEFIANCE a lot of people talk about Blue Cheer.
Shmick !
WTF
BLUE CHEER?
+
Wow...that is
Just wow ..Blue Cheer I would not even consider them as Metal...
I thought maybe they would say Iron Butterfly or Steppenwolf ..
Blue Cheer??? That is mind Blowing..
Black Sabbath invented metal 🤘🤘
with inspiration from The Beatles, the blues and horror movies 😉
G Horse but mostly inspired by Coven who are the first ones to have used satanic imagery, including the horns of the devil🤘and played music with an unhealthy atmosphere
Black Sabbath is The best
No
No
But i love them
In my opinion they are not the best band but they are an amazing band
Hell yea
Their Guitarist Tony Iommi is a thankfully, living, legend
That man single handedly created what we now know as heavy metal 🤘
Untrue. Thank Geezer Butler
Raziel, I know you.
@@nonserviam751 ❤️
@@MisterBolticus "Redeemer and destroyer"; very nostalgic. And actually real work of art.
Cheers
black sabbath as a whole made metal
Fun fact: Tommi, dude that played the solo has leather finger tips. He created the metal sound we here today. The godfather of Heavy Metal.
Myth Maker it's not leather. It's a special plastic I believe
It's also not Tommi, it's Tony Iommi
Myth Maker lost them to a sheet metal shears, down tuned his guitar to make it easier to play with his fake fingertips, creating their signature "doom" sound.
Old soap bottles melted down.
Just goes to show how hardcore most metal musicians really are.. Imagine people like say.. Drake or JB, to go thru the same and just be like "fuck that, gimme the soap bottles and we'll play it again in 10 min)
Black Sabbath gave us metal. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
4:38 that dude is Tony iommi. He is a legend 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥
Not sure anyone else has realized it, but two years from now, this song will be _50 YEARS OLD_!
welp
War Pigs by Black Sabbath! Please!!!
YES! Ozzy Osbournes voice is just so incredible in there
By far their best song
DiscordsDrummer War Pigs live in Paris 1970 is amazing.
Or Zakk Sabbath - War Pigs, that's awesome cover
Don't forget to include Luke's Wall 0,o
Black Sabbath-Heaven and Hell. It features Ronnie James Dio[R.I.P.] as the front man
Black Sabbath (in the Ozzy days) was ICONIC.
You can tell by how hyper he is and how he says "dope ass" in every sentence that he's definitely a hip hop head.
I know Paranoid is arguably the most famous Sabbath song (maybe losing only to Iron Man), but there are some others that I consider so much better (and heavier!) such as Into the Void, War Pigs, Electric Funeral, Symptom of the Universe, Hole in the Sky... Even the band said Paranoid was supposed to be a filler song.
Igor Freitas , I agree as with most bands the famous song is never the best song.
He should check out children of the grave
matthew hamlett That one too. But only if preceded by the Embryo intro.
Igor Freitas truth
Black Sabbath - Heaven & hell
Saw Ozzy the past week in Download fest in Spain, he performed this song... Now I can die in peace.
War pigssssss
Tears Mora YES

I just ran across your videos today. Watched several and am now bunge watching. I really like the funny edits. And your reaction of course. Thank you. Been smiling.
I haven’t heard this song in soooo long!!!! Thanks for the nostalgia! 😊 👌🏼
motorhead ace of spades reaction
dan jepsen Yes please! Or Rock N Roll, also by Mötorhead.
You FINALLY reacted to Black Sabbath!!! I'm glad you liked Paranoid! Time for you to react to their self-titled song: Black Sabbath!!! Also, please react to some more Iron Maiden and Avenged Sevenfold.
Just Discovered your channel man! I grew up listening to this and many other songs you are reacting to and I think it’s a great way to have the upcoming generation hear actual music! Keep up the amazing and great work man, and keep up the dope ass videos!
Good to see you going back to the roots of all these awesome madness of metal. Cheers man. Much love from the Philippines.
I scrolled for a few minutes and I can't believe no one has said N.I.B.!!! One of my favorite Sabbath songs! Bass line is sick!!!
or Orgasmitron or Sweet Leaf
never heard of it. but to be honest i've only listened to like 3 of their songs, all 3 of them classics of course. paranoid, iron man, crazy train
Bro, I was turning my volume up when I started the video and you smacked the volume bar off my screen! It was epic! I'm having a dope ass day by the way and would love a dope ass shirt to go with.
I’d say you’re my favorite reaction person. You’re letting the music into your soul. I get excited watching you react and catch the energy.
Machine Head - Halo
Soil - Halo
Rob Zombie - living dead girl
Wage War - Alive
Trivium - Pillars of Serpents
Soil is great - Halo is a fantastic song...but it almost seems like nobody's ever heard of it. It never gets mentioned, so I was happily surprised to see your suggestion there! Gonna play it right now. :)
Which version? Ember to Inferno, the Sin and the Sentence Japanese Special Edition or both?
Yuuki Kuroutarou TSATS
Josh Taylor Soil - Halo badass track.
Another vote for Soil Halo. Highly underrated band.
paranoid is anthem for us man, how first heard
ali royfan your profile picture makes me mad. XD
Yeah, you need to clean your profile pic. It's attracting flies.
+Rocky, hell yeah! And to see the change in Ozzy o'er the years & I am very happy to be on a laptop so no problems with the fly on the screen! But Funny as hell! Rock on!
i thout there was a flie on my screen
Loving your videos, Bro. They help me refind songs that I love that get lost in the suffle & seeing them from a fresh perspective is amazing. As Dime (Dimebag Darrell Abbott) said "Keep on keepin on!"
Also my first time hearing Black Sabbath. Thanks for another introduction
Dio - Holy diver
Hey Alex, don't give the shirt to me as not everyone believes my so called "story", just keep Machine Head in mind for a reaction some day. (plus international shipping costs are a bitch)
I received some heartbreaking news today that an old friend had committed suicide in the early hours of this morning. I have known him for a long time and we'd often discuss various different metal bands, and in a way he helped me find metal. I've been upset all day but I have been re-watching your videos Alex and they've helped put a smile back on my face. I appreciate every video you upload even when it's not a band I'm a fan of, I still watch for you Alex cause you are the heart of the channel. So I'd like to say thank you for the enthusiasm and passion for music that you show in all your videos, it truly makes your content a cut above all the rest and for that I am forever grateful. PS Finally you do Black Sabbath!
What size shirt you wear?
Dis dude deserves a shirt Alex!!
Brandon Bartlett you win...
Brandon Bartlett Oh wow... this is really sad :-( Keep ya head up...\m/ ...and wear your shirt...;-)
It's just a shirt man :/
1977 I went to a to a concert Ac/Dc started and Black Sabbath followed... not bad... amazingly good... 61 years old nog... still love them... Love from Sweden
I skipped my high school graduation to go see Black Sabbath reunited with Ozzy in 1997, I think that was their first tour together in a long ass time.
Good choice dude
This song is a timeless classic 💖 If you wanna see some badass Black Sabbath headbanging you should react to "War Pigs" live in Paris 1970 🤘
My mum wants this song at her funeral.. no joke!
Houston..omg another Texan(I currently live in Louisiana, but I'm originally from a little town in TX called Eagle Lake. ..however I'm always a Texas boy.) Hard to believe someone hasn't hear Paranoid, but great video...love your channel subbed a few days ago....keep em coming
Ozzy and Sabbath are the progenitors of Heavy Metal. They started it all! I have seen him/ them so many times and every time when he speaks to the crowd you can hear the age in his voice but as soon as he takes to the mic and sings, his voice is always impeccable.
Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath :)
Dio - Holy Diver
"The Last In Line" should be a better song for a reaction
Yeaahh!
HELL YES🤘
Stacy Schauls Yesss!!
nah killswitch engage version lol but unironically cos better reaction potential
YES FINALLY... BEEN DYING FOR SOME REACTION VIDEO TO DO A VIDEO ON THIS SONG. (7hanks for seeing my comment). Btw this is how I feel at work probably cuz I work at a grocery store.
I remember when I first heard this, I was 14 at the queen's golden jubilee. It was this song that got me into Sabbath and music :)
You still need to react to the FIRST METAL SONG EVER! Its also called Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath of course! Do it... live in Paris 1970! Or with the rainy storm intro. Listen to the birth of metal!
that is true great album
FutileExistence the stormy rainy on is the one from the album
PLEASE do it it's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FutileExistence he needs to react to the studio version of Black sabbath
Marin Hrabrić that would be the one with the rainy intro. He may be doing the video like he did here with paranoid
Mr Crowley - Ozzy Osbourne
Or bark at the moon :)
Both amazing
YEAH! Back to the basics :D !! Thx dude
They started this magic we call metal! The wizard is my favorite! When you play this riff at a party the girls start lining up..... well they used to in high school in the late 90s
Been watching your videos since your master of puppets reaction. Honestly you and other reactors are living proof that you can he diverse in your music taste and give something different a chance. Thanks for the videos man
Black Sabbath - War Pigs (live in Paris 1970 if you want a video, P.S. the lyrics will be slightly different)
Kane Reynolds or black Sabbath live in Paris with that awesome intro better yet!
YES!!! What I call the video birth of metal.
never too late to start with real music.
HipHop, Rock, Metal, Folk - all have the same roots. Continue with your voyage and be happy!
Another thing to remember; this was 1970 man! There obviously was no internet, nor MTV, the only way you would be seen on TV would be as a musical guest on a variety shows (and those family friendly programs would NEVER have friggen Black Sabbath on)
What im trying to say is music videos from this era are pretty rare. And so its kind of a treat to find one this old.
"It is a british Rock band"
Bruh, they're the greatest Metal band of all time!
FELIPE TCATCH GALVÃO I definitely wouldn't say the greatest but they did start metal
How have you never heard over Black Sabbath!
IKR I’ve heard Black Sabbath when I was about 6 (11 now)Ima young Metal Head 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I grew up to Black Sabbath and this is my favorite song
Snow blind, sweet leaf, Sabbath bloody Sabbath, war pigs... all great songs! My all time favorite band!!!
Nice, where heavy metal all began. Next, you should react to Holy Diver by Dio. He fronted Black Sabbath for a little while and he invented the metal hand sign. Keep on rockin'. \m/
Congratulations, if you decide to keep going on this Sabbath, Ozzy roller-coaster then you're in for a hell of a good time. Can't wait to see the videos
Sprinkle it with some "The Osbournes" episodes and a lil bit of "Ozzy and Jack's World Detour" and you'll smile forever!
In a few years we gonna be seeing our Alex make vids like 'Metalhead Racts to' 👌🏻👌🏻👊🏻💪🏻
Fav of all time! They were the first heavy metal band, they started it all.
"Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", "Changes", "Heaven & Hell", "War Pigs", just to name a few Black Sabbath songs for ya Alex!!
Hopin' you're having a dope ass day!! ✌
More Sabbath, you say? It's imperative you hear "Iron Man," which many call the GREATEST metal song ever. N.I.B. is sweet as hell, too.
Nathan Houstman, love Iron Man, after catching the lyrics I thought it would make a great wedding song! I'm sooo jaded! Hard to recall what was Sabbath & What was 'just' Ozzy! Peace man!
Fun Fact - for my 11th birthday (1990) I got a gift certificate for Tower Records. The store was huge and I was so excited to choose my own albums. Paranoid was one of them I picked. (older music was cheaper so I could get more tapes) but a damn good start! Lol
I can't see the things that make true happiness I must be blind. Love that
Black Sabbath-children of the grave
Check out their song Children of the Grave. They have live performance from the.mid 70s or so thats killer
Congratulations u have officially listened to the 1st metal band tht exisisted! Bout time good sir!
Happiness I cannot feel and love 2 me is so unreal !🔥
Iron Maiden
Run to the hills
Trooper
Number of the beast
Tigerboy1000 Animal
hallowed be thy name too
Yep
he has already reacted to Hallowed be thy name
Tigerboy1000 Animal trooper is amazing
Y have a question
Do you know another song?
You should listen to War Pigs now!! I mean, Paranoid is a great song, but not a great song TO REACT TO. Trust me, you'll love War Pigs.
Nicolas R, I think the lyrics to War Pigs will always be relevent.
so many relevant songs by them: war pigs of course, but also my personal favorite: children of the grave
Nicolas R YES
the rewritten version that came out first or the uncensored one?
This song was released exactly 6 months before I was born. I think it's really cool that you are listening to a metal song that is that old, and getting into it.
Fun fact: Tommy Iommi lost the tips of 2 of his fingers just before they went out on tour. He plays Paranoid with melted plastic for finger tips....
Try Motörhead's "Ace of Spades" for another "godfather of metal" (Lemmy!!!)
As i lay dying-my own grave! I think that u will love this song man!
Black Sabbath-black Sabbath
You know that feeling when you find a random channel that you like but you don't think much of it at first but then you get unexpectedly super emotionally invested in it and you end up relating to the creator so much? Well that pretty much sums up my feelings towards this channel. As a newer metal head myself, I feel like Alex is there with me on my metal journey as well, especially because I've discovered some awesome music through this channel. I know you hear this a lot Alex but I usually hate reaction channels because their reactions are so fake and cheesy and they're usually closed minded with metal. But your channel has been like a breath of fresh air! Now I find I can't miss one of your videos and I wish you nothing but endless success!
We have Sabbath to thank for all of this 🤘💛
Love your videos! When you done with your Metal list you need to venture into the world of 80's pop videos. So many crazy images and interesting lyrics. Would love to see your reactions to those!
Dlack Dabbath :)
Also, I think they were all just bobbing their heads and standing around and stuff because they were most likely blitzed out of their minds. lol
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Black Sabbath - Snowblind
Black Sabbath - Into the Void
Black Sabbath - Lord of this World
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath - N.I.B.
Black Sabbath - Hand of Doom
Black Sabbath - Electric Funeral
John M no Electric Funeral? Cone on man. Get yourself together!
fixed :)
Ive been watchin for about a month now and hands down youre the best react channel on the tube.
Ahh the golden start of metal such a beauty 😍
Finally a reaction on my favorite bandddd😁❤
Black sabbath the precursors of heavy metal they are the top of heavy metal spear and the guitarist still wore a finger prosthetic as it had 1 finger amputated and played equally good animal Alex hugs from Brazil.
We want more trivium krisute gomen
Paranoid. I first heard that song in 1972 or 1973. Even when it comes on the radio today, I still turn the volume to 11. That's my favorite song of all time.
Even when Megadeth redid it in the early 1990's still the same thing. I just like the song whoever puts it out!!!
Paranoid has been featured in many films, so you had to have heard it before. 3 films that automatically come to mind are Dazed and confused, The Stoned Age, and I think Detroit Rock City.
Saw them live at Manchester apollo doing this song. 1978 im an old biker from England. Good to see your reaction. And sort your tattooes they need to go big ;)
Black Sabbath was my teen-angst music back in the 80's. Always resonated with them back then (and Pink Floyd of course)
Hey alex ! man there's a song you should listen absolutly, the name of the song is: Dance of Death from Iron Maiden, Bruce is telling an awesome story and the instrumental it's just.. dope. Trust me this song it's going to blow your mind.
LOVE? - STRAPPING YOUNG LAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of my personal Black Sabbath favorites:
"Dirty Women" you won't believe the long incredible guitar piece
"Over and Over" Dio era, just beautifully mournful (I've listened to it over and over)
"into the Void" awesome tempo/beat/rhythm?
"Lonely is the Word" Dio era again, more awesome guitar
"Lord of This World" Very religious
"After Forever" Would you like to see the pope on the end of a rope...
"You Won't Change Me"
"Disturbing The Priest" From Born Again, Ian Gillan singer
Here is a story for ya, Alex. The guitarist for Black Sabbath (Tony) wanted to finish his last day out at the factory where he worked. During this time at work he cut the end of two of his fingers off. This is crazy because this was right after they closed on a record deal. He did not give up so he made some finger tips out of melted plastic lids and covered them with leather. He still uses them to this day. You can see them in some of the Black Sabbath videos.
I'm thinking his bassist was just depressed. Even 50 years ago, younger people went through depression, too. Your Mom and Dad went through the same stuff you're going through so don't think you are alone with what is going on.
NICE!!!
All That Remains - This Calling
Hi I am huge ozzy Osbourne fan I was very lucky to meet him 2013 i am glad that you are re viewing his career from his back sabbath days to now pariond what a great song well done Alex
Black Sabbath - "A National Acrobat", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", "Killing Yourself to Live", "After Forever", "Solitude", "Into the Void", "Sweet Leaf", "Children of the Grave", "The Wizard" & the self-titled song "Black Sabbath"!
Rect to Tenacious D "Tribute"
tenacious D is more a meme band than a metal band though...
Or, maybe more appropriately, The Metal?
No!!
Full movie reaction!!
Master Exploader... PERIOD
Yes... totally! I suggested "The Metal" on Alex' live stream yesterday, that would be so much fun and I'm sure Alex would be surprised about the energy that Jack Black and Kyle Gass put in their music. "Kickapoo" or "Master Exploder" would be so much fun too. :D
