I think it's worth pointing out that two people can work for the same company and have vastly different experiences. I've had places that I've worked that I hated while other people liked it, and I've had places that I've worked that I thought were great and other people hated. It doesn't make either experience inaccurate.

Notice whenever wrestlers defend AEW it's always "AEW let's wrestlers make more money and have an alternative" never anything about the actual immer workings of AEW and what problems it might or might not have. This was a copout answer from Cody but it was expected. He's ultimately a company guy and nowhere near Punk's candidness.

AEW suffered the biggest blow when Cody Rhodes left.
He was a glue that held a lot of things together for AEW. Cody was good with Khan and the Elite as well as with CM Punk. Without Cody though, there seemed to be a strong divide between those parties. No collaboration, no communicating; it was doomed. The whole Dynamite and Collision experiment wasn't going to work, can't run a business like that.
In Cody's eyes there was leadership when he was there because he was a part of it but without him, it just wasn't the same. Different perspectives, perception is reality.
