Hey all. I'm here in USA. After months of pain and sensitivity, per my local dentist, I just had two split teeth extracted. Told him my intentions to have implants performed in Bangkok. This video and additional research convinced me to contact Edelweiss Dental House. Thank you, Chris! Over the past month, the folks at Edelweiss Dental House have been awesome answering my detailed questions from here in USA. Just booked my flights for Phase 1 of the implants. Then, a few months later, I have a great excuse to return to lovely Thailand for a second time for Phase 2. The cost of two implants, transportation, accommodations, food and even money for entertainment while in Thailand and I'll STILL be saving about $4,000 USD by having the work done in The Land of Smiles. Just hope my smile will be worthy. I'll report back about my experience. Great channel!

Exactly a year ago I had a dental emergency and had to have two teeth pulled here in NYC. The dentist missed with novacane shot but she pulled them anyway at full excruciating pain. Then after that insult, they charged me $1800.!! That was it for me and the despicable NY dentists and prices. One month later, in August of last year, I was in Thailand and getting a full restoration that included 3-root canals & crowns, 7-lower & 8-upper restorations, and 5 (YES FIVE) implants. Oh yeah, I had to have two more teeth pulled and guess what that cost me? …$26. EACH! Now I had to return last February to get the implants installed, but I couldn’t be happier. What could have easily been $60K to $70k in the U.S., cost me a little more than $9K total. The dentist in Thailand was Western trained spoke English and very professional, I was surrounded by 3-assistants at all times, and the technology was state-of-the-art. Coincidentally, the NYC dental office recently reached out to me to try and get me to return. I wrote them of my Thailand experience compared to NY - especially their outrageous NY prices - and added that I NEVER wanted to hear from them again. Now I can’t wait to get out of this insult of a country all together. If you disagree, you’re the frog in the boiling water.
Had a check up in the UK in February this year, was told I needed 1 actual filling and 9 other teeth that needed filling between the gum and teeth at the back, quoted £1,200. Researched dentists in Bangkok and booked an appointment for early June with a practice in Sukhumvit Soi 5. I sent the x-ray and photos prior to the appointment. On the day they did a quick inspection and confirmed only 1 filling and 5 other teeth needed filling. They were so professional and the work was carried out in 2 visits for 8,600 THB approximately £220. I was so impressed with the ladies at reception, how they deal with patients and the dentist herself was amazing.
One of the best things you can do while having a trip in Thailand is to get the dentists there fix up your oral issues. Not only that their standards are so high, but they're also unbelievably cheap. And it's not limited to dental, their hospital and medical treatments are in high standards and low prices as well.
@@kevinp8108Personally, I think it's cheap price from Thai people as well. I think it depends on the point of view. Because I went to scrape the limestone clinic around my house. at high standard but not expensive The more government hospitals, the cheaper it is, even if you have to wait in line, but not as long as in other countries. more procedural and have to make an appointment with the doctor again except for braces that the tools are imported from some foreign countries May be a bit more expensive But it makes sense.
We have great dentists in Chiang Mai and even lower prices than the great ones you mentioned, although your place is quite a bit fancier. But a good English speaking dentist in CM is about 700 baht for cleaning and a filling about 500 baht. As an American, I just find it amazing. My health insurance never covered the dentist and the price for a filling is about 20 times or more. Just crazy. Thanks for the video, Chris. I feel like I know you so much better now that I've seen the inside of your mouth, 555.
@RetiredGlobalLife - medical care in the US has always been overpriced because there isn't a price cap like in other countries for each medical procedure! The hospitals in the US can charge whatever they want, and it's usually high because the hospitals are counting on the insurance companies to pay for the ridiculously high prices! Then the insurance companies passes on the high costs to the insured through costly month premiums!
The cheap price is not because of the low quality. but it's about foreign currency exchange rate don't forget that Medicine in Thailand is ranked among the top in the world.
I visited Edelweiss on a visit to Bangkok last year based on your video.and had 2 Implants + cleaning. Good care, wonderful staff. I give them 5 stars.
I will be going to the Dentist in Thailand when we are there cause we pay a fortune here in Canada especially as seniors who are retired. Our government does not cover us so we are looking forward to it.
I’m back in Thailand for more dental work. Edelweiss is awesome. I was in chair yesterday for 4 hours. Cleaning, whitening and implant work. Prices compared to USA are 15 cents on dollar and it’s the best clinic I’ve ever been. I had 7 visits in February and got 4 scheduled this time over 2 weeks. I’m staying at Adelphi Grande hotel in Bangkok which is on sukhumvit and is great for tourism. I’m 10 miles from clinic and after using Bolt, I found a driver that charges me $10 per hour for driving and tourist visits and great dining experiences. Chris’ video plays in lobby of clinic and they are very grateful for his support.
Seriously thinking about visiting them. I'm 70 in Northern Ca. Weighing total cost of air travel and lodging. My teeth are super bad, total neglect for 15 years. Missing teeth and on and on, and probably extensive bone loss. I know it's going to cost. Shouls I trust this dentist? Will I save money?
I had a fantastic experience at the Bangkok International Dental Clinic back in 2007. I had teeth pulled (required from an old accident when I was a child), new gum tissue sewn into my mouth from a deceased donor, and a new bridge. Total cost was WAY less than in the USA. And I still have the bridge 16 years later.
Smaller jobs like cleaning,, fillings, x-Ray etc. is certainly cheaper in Thailand. However …..I got 6 implants (US Biohorizon) done in Costa Rica and I paid 15% less than what it would have cost me in Thailand; according to the fee list on their website. My dentist in CR did even one extraction free of charge for me and in-clinic whitening was 20% cheaper in Costa Rica as well. What I am trying to say here is - do your homework before you decide which country to go for dental work…..last but not least…..flights to CR are dirt cheap.
my visit was in 2015 no problem with the large amount of work I had done it was also cheaper than in NZ even with the flights and hotel included Would recommend Chiang Mai as a better place to hang out as its cheaper and easier to get round plus usually 3 or 4 days between appointments so you need something to do dont be afraid al lot of the dentists are US trained
I got into a motorbike accident and my left ankle swelled up. The next morning, I requested a Tuk Tuk ride to Phuket international Hospital, but before the trip I took two credit cards in case the bill went through the roof. The Dr Consult/X-Rays/Meds was a total price of the equivalent of $12.00 USD. In California, it would cost about $800.00 USD.
@@ElliotScottDating massive improvement. More than happy with the outcome. Be prepared to always wear the retainer after the treatment to sleep every night or your teeth will slowly start to go back to the original state.
With your Invisalign treatment, how often did you need to go back to Edelweiss for checkup/adjustment? Did they give you the entire set of aligner trays or did you have to go back every few months to get new aligners? I'm just curious because I don't live in Thailand, but I could go there every few months if I needed to. I did the Smile Direct treatment in the US a few years ago, but it was not good. It was cheaper than Invisalign, but I got what I paid for, which wasn't much, and now I am back to my crooked overcrowded teeth. Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone!
Thailand is good for dental if your have the money, but if you're like me and on a budget, go to the Philippines. You'll pay a fraction of those prices. Yesterday i had TWO fillings done for $30 USD, Root canals and porcelain crowns are UNDER $100 USD each.
@@joycem7688 My dentist is in Cagayan de Oro city, Mindanao, but you can get the same prices at most dentists across the country. The main thing is not to go to a dentist that caters to lots of foreigners. rather than locals - unless you're happy to pay more.

Hi Chris! I have LAB COAT SYNDROME where you get so anxious about taking your blood pressure that it causes it to rise. Whenever I take my blood at home, it's normal. To prevent you from getting anxious, I recommend that you close your eyes and take very deep breaths through your mouth, and exhale through your nose. You will see that by doing this your blood pressure would be normal. Hope this helps!
We, from Belgium also have good experiences with dentists in Thailand. It is better to have your high blood pressure checked by a heart specialist. Maybe it's a small problem, but just taking medication is not a good idea. Like your channel😉
Thanks very much for this dental update, it was very helpful. My Korean wife and I are coming back to Thailand to settle and retire in March 2024. This information is very important and helpful to our our decision-making. Keep up the great work 👍
In addition to dental annual check up, visitors should consider an all inclusive medical examination at most private hoapitals. Their prices vary during the year and the procedues vary. Prevention is the best cure.
I've been using BIDC ( Bangkok international dental centre) for years now. They're based in Ratchada. 7 floors and specialist dentists for different treatments. Each one specializing on something in particular.. you might see 4 different ďentists in one visit. Prices are great.

Prices aren’t much different from US. For tooth implants is $1500 to $2000, Invisalign just got for my son was $4800, very severe case. I will say the facilities and equipment are much better at this facility.
I disagree, implants in the U.S. (at least in NYC) are $7K to $10K a piece. I got 5-implants in Thailand and the cost was $685. each. The care was excellent, the technology state of the art, and the dental work superb. I couldn’t be happier.

@@JeddieT This is per the internet. How much does the average dental implant cost in the US? In general, however, single dental implants cost $1,500 to $2,000 per implant. @@kevinp8108 yes, definitely. It is actually written in my medical notes. My BP would be 180/105 in the first 5 minutes of being in a Dr's...then dramatically drop after 10 minutes. Very common and not "diagnosed ". I believe many people would be on higher dosages because of this. I'm now down to 2 BP tablets per day. But it will be for life. My resting BP at home is around 125/80 now.
It's funny that the nurse said the bottom number was okay. What are dental clinics even taking blood pressure readings for, especially when they can't read the results.

Super useful video. Medical services are a vital consideration for older folks considering a move to Thailand. The dental clinic seems to be professional and reliable.
Those prices are amazing vs what it costs here in the US. I am about to get a full upper and lower denture and trying to get the cost down. Almost worth flying there for getting the work done.
I like that some people in comments try to compare prices of other countries but forget to compare wages of the country that are comparing. You must compare prices with the average wage of the locals in a country. For example if someone is paying 300 but earning 6000 per month while someone is paying 60 but is but earning 300 per month.. question: who is paying more according to his buying power? Also the guy who is earning 6k, is earning 6k because in his country sells services that are similarly priced to his wage... so the whole market is has different pricing power
You must have read my mind. I was going to ask about Dental Tourism in Thailand. I will definitely be reaching out to these folks to set it up. Thanks 👍
It's not clear to me what's causing the bone ross. Was it rost underneath an existing implant? How does this happen? Now I'm concerned because I have an implant myself and will probably require a few more.
Great video Chris, I’ll be certain to visit on my next trip for a check up and clean. Principally as like you I am likely to need an implant soon and the cost is significantly lower than the U.K. and the equipment for x rays is next level.

I had a cleaning done in Bangkok 20 years ago - I don't remember the price but it was inexpensive. Last year I had an exam and cleaning in Panama that was only $35.

Great show Chris! Prices are awesome. I usually go to the dentist in Korat. I'll definitely check it out next time in Bangkok. As alway's stay cool, kind and generous!
Great to see an informative video that has a really good outcome for the business being filmed. I can imagine that they may have been sceptical of allowing an outsider filming their business at first, but then seeing how much extra business your videos are creating for them is the priceless. They're getting free targeted advertising. I also love how transparent they are. They hide nothing. I have certainly wondered about costing a quality tooth alignment in Thailand against what I would pay in the Uk. If my maths are correct, I'd save about £1200-£1500 on treatment by having it done there. To me, that equates to a return flight ticket + £500-£800 towards my accommodation. The cost saving would pay for 3/4 of my flight and accommodation for a month.
I just had five different appointments with Edelweiss Dental House and it was an amazing and completely professional experience. I highly recommend them.
Wow those costs were much more than I was expecting...in line with the prices we pay here in the Cayman Islands or even more expensive. That makes no sense to me! Why so expensive? I've been putting off my invisalign until I got to Thailand but it would be cheaper to get it done here - in one of the worlds most expensive countries!
Be hard to get an implant an crown done if you were only on a 3 week holiday. I was told in Australia you have to wait up to 3months after the implant before getting the crown fitted.
Yes this is standard worldwide, after implant is placed you need to wait 3-4 months before it can be finished with abutment and crown. This is because there needs to be a healing period and time for the implant to integrate with the bone.
Yes..can confirm time line..I getting 2nd implant in Buriram. Extraction first...4 weeks healing..screw put in..another 4 weeks..then impression ..10 days for tooth making..all up almost 3 months. 1st implant needed some bone augmentation first so further delay of 4 weeks. Certainly not a process for a short term visit. BTW cost 35 k bant...10 k extra for bone treatment. German technology.
Just had two fillings repaired in Brisbane Australia. Nearly $1k AUD. For repairs, not a filling. And when I told the dentist I had thought about visiting Thailand, primarily to visit my uncles war grave, but to get dental work done whilst there, well the negative comments about thai dentists was out there. The cheap price is not because of the low quality. but it's about foreign currency exchange rate don't forget that Medicine in Thailand is ranked among the top in the world.
Hey Chris. I visited Edelweiss on a visit last year based on your video. The service was excellent. I plan on going back again
I visited Edelweiss on a visit to Bangkok last year based on your video.and had 2 Implants + cleaning. Good care, wonderful staff. I give them 5 stars.
@@mikeshattuck7919 what kind of price for implant buddy?
I will be going to the Dentist in Thailand when we are there cause we pay a fortune here in Canada especially as seniors who are retired. Our government does not cover us so we are looking forward to it.
This is higher end dental service in Thailand. You can get services cheaper in other places from skilled dentists.
Can you recommend me some places?
In Manila Philippines is cheapest than Thailand. The advise that guy is for wealthy people
I’m back in Thailand for more dental work.
@daniel385 - doesn't your body reject the donor tissue?
@@kevinp8108 It's just gum tissue. I've never had any problems with it over these past 16 years. You'd never know it was there.
deceased donor ? wtf
@@LD-yq7cl Tissue donation from a person who recently died. He/she really helped me out.
I'm shopping for overseas dental work, but not implants. Any other recommendations in CR? Thx!
my visit was in 2015 no problem with the large amount of work I had done it was also cheaper than in NZ even with the flights and hotel included Would recommend Chiang Mai as a better place to hang out as its cheaper and easier to get round plus usually 3 or 4 days between appointments so you need something to do dont be afraid al lot of the dentists are US trained
As a cardiac patient, you should see someone about that diastolic 99 !!!
as a Thai …. You can not beat us for Medical care 😂❤
That's true lol
Great job! 👍🏻
Right . But I can beat you.
Agreed 💯 and fantastic care it is
I got into a motorbike accident and my left ankle swelled up.
I am currently nearly a year into Invisalign treatment with Edelweiss and can honestly say they are brilliant 🤩
How much was your Invisalign there ?
How did that work for you? I need it done and was wondering if you had to go back every X months to get checked or what.
@@HulaMask about 110,00 baht
I went to Bangkok Smile about 8 years ago. Then I took my wife about 4 years ago. Brilliant service and so much cheaper than in Australia.
Thailand is good for dental if your have the money, but if you're like me and on a budget, go to the Philippines. You'll pay a fraction of those prices. Yesterday i had TWO fillings done for $30 USD, Root canals and porcelain crowns are UNDER $100 USD each.
Who do u go too in the philipines
@@joycem7688 My dentist is in Cagayan de Oro city, Mindanao, but you can get the same prices at most dentists across the country. The main thing is not to go to a dentist that caters to lots of foreigners. rather than locals - unless you're happy to pay more.

@@metalguru5226oh wow. Thanks for mentioning that. We have a trip to the Philippines and Thailand and Malaysia. Was deciding between Thailand and Malaysia for some fillings. Not sure why I discounted the Philippines. Actually I have used that dentist in the mall in cdo but it was just cleaning. I think they are ok for filling too. I will be in Iligan for a week, might take a day and drive to cdo for the job.
@@bigbrother4ever Glad to help. Mall dentists are fine, but they're not the cheapest. Dentists on the city streets who work with local customers are the cheapest. You can find these in Illigan too. for years have been going to a good one called Dental Art Care in CDO, but there are dozens of others here.
Bc of you I emailed them and I hope to get a reply. I need a lot of work done and the prices here are amazing.

My Wife and I both had extensive Bridge work done 21yrs ago at the Pattaya hospital, still no probs. My UK dentist was amazed at the quality and stated he wouldn't have attempted such a large piece work.
It's amazing, I have been failing to find an NHS Dentist here in Britain so thinking maybe when I come to Thailand in September it might be a good idea to see a Dentist over there....I think you have just convinced me and given a place to go that I know will look after me and I an trust, thanks again Chris
High blood pressure can lead to kidney failure and strokes (brain clot then bursting of the blood vessel in the brain).
Great video! This has been on my list of things to do since I arrived in Bangkok. I just sent them an email requesting an appointment.
Thanks very much for this dental update, it was very helpful. My Korean wife and I are coming back to Thailand to settle and retire in March 2024. This information is very important and helpful to our our decision-making. Keep up the great work 👍
What does your wife being Korean have anything to do with anything? You must be a white dude. Lmao
In addition to dental annual check up, visitors should consider an all inclusive medical examination at most private hoapitals. Their prices vary during the year and the procedues vary. Prevention is the best cure.
no language barrier, definitely a big plus 👍👍👍
I've been using BIDC ( Bangkok international dental centre) for years now. They're based in Ratchada. 7 floors and specialist dentists for different treatments. Each one specializing on something in particular.. you might see 4 different ďentists in one visit.
Prices are great.
My mother and stepfather have been using BIDC for years and really like them. I haven't used them yet, but when I looked them up I saw that they have several other locations, including EmQuartier, Siam Paragon, Phuket and Chiang Mai
@natalierangkla I get a check up every trip. I just get a motorcycle taxi from Nana which costs 200b.

@sebastiendrapeau8899 You have 3 different implant choices at BIDC. 3 different qualities and costs depending on your financial situation. They are very fair and won't give you a hard sell.
They advised me.... Dont got for cheap and don't choose expensive unless you want that. The middle priced option was perfect.
You'll be fine, don't worry you're on very good hands .

Wow implants even more expensive than my country. I can do implant with 1000 eur.... Is there cheaper good clinics there? Looking for implant for less than 1000 eur... For whitening I paid 250 eur in my country. Filling seems to be cheaper there though.
An implant an crown in Australia, is $5000 aud or $3,300 USD for both. So a saving of $1,500 aud or $1,000 USD.

Prices aren’t much different from US. For tooth implants is $1500 to $2000, Invisalign just got for my son was $4800, very severe case. I will say the facilities and equipment are much better at this facility.
I'm sure it is much cheaper outside of Bangkok. But I agree, those prices sound much too high. Implants in Mexico can be as low as $800.
I disagree, implants in the U.S. (at least in NYC) are $7K to $10K a piece. I got 5-implants in Thailand and the cost was $685. each. The care was excellent, the technology state of the art, and the dental work superb. I couldn’t be happier.
@@JeddieT The price I gave was average cost in the US, NY I’m sure is on the higher end. I recently had an implant that cost me $800 but my insurance must of paid a portion, I think the total cost was 2k.
@@JeddieT This is per the internet. How much does the average dental implant cost in the US?
In general, however, single dental implants cost $1,500 to $2,000 per implant. Not per procedure-but per implant. Some patients are only going to need a single implant, whereas others will need several because they're missing multiple teeth.
@@STAXBITCOINPlease let me know where for 2000 per implant. I have been quoted 5-6000 per in Ca.

Chris your BP was not very good...your bottom number 99 is high and needs checking by a GP. 141 can also be considered high, depending on previous health conditions. I've suffered with high BP for 15 years and regularly measure my own at home. It could be just nerves, so another reading should be done 10 minutes after you have relaxed a bit. Good luck. I love your channel. I live in Ratchaburi
it seems like he has White Coat Syndrome. I have an issue with anxiety whenever my blood pressure is taken. I could feel my blood pressure rise as I get more anxious. I've learned to take deep breaths while my blood pressure is being taken and it normally helps my anxiety and lowers my BP back to normal.
@@HaleRakDa Once you've lived in Thailand for a while, you soon realize that many things are done for "show" and "appearances" value. It's a very superficial country - once you get past the veneer (pun intended) it's a whole different place.

Prices are higher then here in the Netherlands. So before I move to Thailand I have to service my teeth here in the Netherlands
Super useful video. Medical services are a vital consideration for older folks considering a move to Thailand. The dental clinic seems to be professional and reliable.
you should not talk while getting your blood pressure check. Plus you should wait at least 10 mins before you get the test to calm down
from your video in 2022 I visited Edleweiss and had a wonderful experience
I actually go to one in sukhumvit soi 5, and they have similar prices. My wife did her implants there as well, and we were happy with the service.
Those prices are amazing vs what it costs here in the US. I am about to get a full upper and lower denture and trying to get the cost down. Almost worth flying there for getting the work done.
Those were my thought exactly. So I am saving and waiting a year, then move and get my dentures there. It is stupid expensive here.
Why not implants? Sooner or later I'm sure I'll need them. Do you know if it is possible to get them done in Thailand in one trip?
Remember that it's cheap for westerners, not for Thai people! Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's poor quality.
Professional from the start one of these days I will get there
I like that some people in comments try to compare prices of other countries but forget to compare wages of the country that are comparing.

Hahaha yes because of your video we also went there in our holidays for a deep cleaning and it was amazing 😂
PS: Please do something about your blood pressure. A cup of hibiscus tea a day might help (google it, it's scientifically proven). Take care!
@alicjamichalik well with one, might or scientifically proven? Kinda the opposite lol

Thanks Chris. I went last year and will going again this year in October. 6 hours work 20,000 baht so awesome
You also may need a bone graft before getting an implant. If that's a case, it will require 3-6 months additional.
After seeing the prices you paid I am now convinced Ned Kelly is alive and well and went to dental school in Brisbane.
