I like all your videos, but this one was extremely helpful to me. I have been thinking about getting a procedure done in Thailand - more the recovery part than anything else. The US can be really basic in the HMO hospitals but the Thai experience with after care hospitality and healing is world class.
As a healthcare provider, I'm so happy to see how these important services are provided in such a beautiful place . As usual, the Thais know how to do it in style. Thanks for sharing
I had surgery at the Origene clinic in Pattaya Thailand. Had lower eyelid and fat removal. Also fat injections at the temple. All the fat disappeared and the bags are still here. They refuse to do anything except charge me more to fix 1 eye and transfer more fat. Its a Korean Doctor. They weren't interested in my satisfaction but were happy to charge more money to redo the surgery. Not all Korean Doctors are qualified.
It is a fantastic place for medical care. I had a skin cancer on the nose removed by a plastic surgeon and Bumrangrad Hospital years ago.... I have had dental work done as well. I also had an eye exam and new prescription for glasses at Rutnin Eye Hospital. Top notch physicians with excellent care!

Wow this is amazing! Up here in Can-a-der we have.... sort of free medical care (you pay through taxes). The largest problem here is a shortage of certain types of doctors and the wait times far exceed what they should.

Great job Chris. Actually there are 66 JCI Accreditation hospitals in Thailand and all of them have great doctors and services (it depends on what you're looking for). Of course all of them are private hospitals, as I remember in 1992 Thailand have only 3 or 4 JCI accreditation hospitals and look how many they have now. I had positive experiences with these Thai hospitals myself and would recommend everyone to try. If you are looking for good doctor good service and value for your money.
Another great video Chris! Would love to see it through the eyes of a patient mate. Any chance for a future video with a couple different patients going through a procedure from arriving in Bangkok to recovery? Keep up the great work mate! Cheers 👍🏻🙏🏻👌🏻

Outstanding video Chris! This is great information for people who need or want procedures done without being raped by western corrupt medicine, especially the epitome of corruption, the US medical system. Please do additional videos on this topic. As usual, your video production is top notch.
Great video Chris! Could you do a video on how Thais care for their seniors? What options are available for seniors that need long term care or assisted living? Here in Canada LTC is so expensive and care is not that good!
Very interesting seeing inside some of the hospitals. I have been told the facilities are top notch. I've always had it in the back of my mind that I might need this one day,
If you live in the US, please CHECK if your insurance will cover some of your health costs in Thailand. Case in point. In 2019 a dental crown would cost me $1200 in the state where I live. With my dental insurance, I would pay $857 there. I had my crown done at Bangkok's Thantakit Dental Clinic. With their 10% cash discount I paid $568.93. My dental insurance reimbursed me $332.16 for this 'out of network' service for the crown. My final cost was $236.77. This is not an isolated case. In 2015 I had a comprehensive physical exam done at Bangkok General Hospital costing $592.45 where I was diagnosed with pneumonia. A few months later after filing a claim, my Blue Cross affiliated plan reimbursed me $520.92. My final cost was $71.53.

For UK residents, Thailand would only be chosen for cosmetic or dental work as all other health matters are free at point of delivery - there may be waits but for vital/urgent treatment these shouldn't be too great. Add to this the fact that should things go wrong all other services to deal with the problems are at hand and, of course, free.
I’m interested in more information on various plastic surgery & liposuction . I was there in Bangkok Thailand in the early 2000s . Had a pretty good experience with Dr. Kamol . On another note my great grandmother and grandfather were Canadian . A beautiful country .
Ever Health is some kind of tour agent that makes it convenient for neo medical tourists to get treatment in Thailand at affordable costs. However, for decades there have been several leading private hospitals offering such services through words of mouth reputation and these hospitals are still doing roaring business right now as they have extensive contacts with several countries. Another option is to get treatment from leading teaching hospitals in Bangkok such as Siriraj, Chula and Rama. They do cater for international patients and all staffs speak English at their international division. All those experts in private hospitals all go through these 3 medical schools for their first medical degree before they study aboard to get specialist certificate, mostly in the US, UK and Japan. Of course, their teachers in Thailand's 3 leading teaching hospitals also got specialist certificates from US, UK, Japan before returning to continue their teaching/treating patients in these 3 leading hospitals.
You are definitely gonna be the reason why I move to Thailand, I was very unsure about leaving the US because of my chronic condition but I have realized I have to stop thinking like an American not only America has good healthcare, there’s other countries that have way better healthcare
For me to look for a specialist in Medellin was that the referral process here in LA takes about 3 months, has very high deductibles plus, the cost of the treatment when a insurance company denies the claim. In Colombia I was able to see a dermatologist the within a day the consultation, treatment and medication was only $110.00.
Very informative and interesting. I really enjoy such type of educational and informative videos on topics that are more on the serious side. Thank you very much! I hope you will do more on such type of topics.😀
Healthcare is something everyone is going to have to tackle more and more often as we all age in life. Love the valuable info about this important topic! It's so surprising to me how little info there are about medical tourism specifics.
I went to Mexico to get dental work done. I hadn’t been to a dentist in ten years and got two cleanings, 8 cavities filled, a root canal and teeth whitening done for 1,700.00$. The best part was the attitude of the dentist. After light hearted joking about what an idiot I was for not going to a dentist for ten years she took such great care of me and I didn’t feel judged at all. Also since a lot of pain killers are available in the pharmacy without prescription you can go and buy painkillers or whatever you want by the pill for after the procedure. Go see Dr. Francis if you are ever in Rosarito Mexico.
Great video, loads of useful info thanks. And I’m getting to that age when I might have to start considering health tourism and I can’t think of anywhere where I would rather have it done than Thailand. I had an unplanned urgent procedure done last year in a private hospital in Khon Kaen while on holiday. The hospital staff and facilities were exceptional.
US healthcare insurance companies should open the doors for foreign healthcare providers, once confirm by US providers patients needed surgery options to go oversea for services.

I just got a call yesterday from the dental school that I go to for any dental work in Hawthorn, NY. They wanted to get me on the schedule for the two implants and crowns that I need . When the coordinator gave me the price it took me a couple of seconds to swallow, $1600 for each implant and $1500 for each crown, $6,200!!! To makes matters worse my sister who works in medical billing for a huge medical group told me that's a great price because its half of what is being charged throughout New York. If I go to the dental facility Chris mentioned in another video, and get the Korean implants, I could get both implants for under $2,200, as well as a couple of other procedures, and still be able to cover hotel accommodations, food and round trip flights...
Perfect timing! I was just starting to look into a visit for a medical procedure. Only question I have after watching is how they handle scheduling. Do they consult via video-conferencing or do you have to fly to Thailand for an initial consultation, then fly out again for the procedure?
Hello from CA & many thanks 4 info but found it hard to navigate, i.e, how much is laser resurfacing at Bumrungrad & cost to stay in hospital? Is Thailand the only country in SEA to provide overnight accommodation in hotel? What about Korea? Malaysia? Any suggestions?
Super subject, Chris...I'm lining myself up for a major "teeth overhaul job"...Half the cost of the USA and the clinics work together (Tx and BKK)...Looking forward to this, ready to flash a new set of grills with pearly whites that shine in the dark!!! 😆 👍😎👍 🕺
Good choice I had dental work done in Thailand second to none great treatment had a few root canals and bridge work, the root canals where performed by a dentist who only works with root channels and the other work the same bridgework specialist, when they administered the Novocain a young lady assistant at the side of me started tapping me on my shoulder and totally distracted me at the time of the jabs and each whole procedure was pain free and professional the pricing is also more then reasonable, good luck and congratulations for your new pearly smile.
Love these videos Chris! Keep them coming. Maybe next time pick a specific procedure say dental implants and visit the top three in town or hair transplant and the top three. Also how about a report on Heathland Asoke. Love that place!
Chris: This is one of the most valuable videos to have ever been on YT! I may even stop referring to it as Useless Tube after this! LOL I have severe back pain due to an injury. Almost ten years ago I was paralyzed from the waist down. The top surgeons and specialists in New England stated that I would spend the rest of my life in a wheel chair. My response to them was, shall we say, significantly less than polite and quite loud! LOL After three months I walked out of the hospital and have been walking ever since. I may need a cane on occasion but, I'm still mobile and it still hurts, A LOT! Even though I have some serious pain medication prescribed, I only use it on rare occasions. I refuse to become addicted to them and the best way is to not use them. Big Pharm will have to find another lab rat with which to experiment! I have done extensive research and found there is a procedure which has been proven successful many times. The downside is that in the "good 'ol US of A", it is illegal because it requires cloning the material in my own body. Yeah! It uses my own stem cells! (Damned religious zealots screwed that pooch right to Hell!) I did discover a hospital in Beijing that can actually reverse and cure the herniated disc AND restore the severely degenerated discs in my spine. The only problem is that it is in Beijing. We all know how great things are going there so, that place is off the list! Go figure! LOL If there is any way that such repair work can be done in Thailand I'm in for it! Is this something that is a possibility over there? Of course, I will be checking with Ever Healthcare to see if they know of any possibilities but, I thought I would ask you since other subscribers may have or know of some else who is in need of such corrective measures. The only real problem will be funding such an adventure since my health care insurance is only good in the USA and stops as soon as I leave our airspace! Thanks a lot Uncle Sam you short sighted greedy jerk! One last thing is that I am seriously considering moving to Thailand based upon the videos that you have made coupled with my own research. It has so much to offer and I have little to lose. I can already speak a bit of Thai along with Vietnamese and Japanese so, why not? What do you think?
Interesting subject, an a lot of choice. Here in NL you can't chose your specialist (even not the dentist!) and we have a very very long waiting time (sometimes 9 months for specific examinations).
I wonder about that , in my perception, medical issue is something to check as soon as possible. In Thailand , we can walk in to any hospital and every one will see a doctor to check symptom first , any specific examination may be appointed after that if its not serious sickness and can be waited. At least, patients know that they are not in serious sickness and get some medicine to heal or take advice from doctor before coming again for next appointment if further examination or follow up is needed. Its better to call for making appointment in advance, Walk in will also see doctor but it may take long time for queue. Recently I just know that in some countries , seeing doctor is not easy and also expensive. Then I have realized that how hard- working Thai dictors do, especially in the governed hospitals in up country that full of poor people who have no money to get in a private hospital same as many in Bangkok . Appreciate those doctors.
@@SuperDorame Thai people They have atleast $1 promotion(for whatever type of illnesses) for every Thai but random hospital(cannot choose). And there are m38, m39, m40 if you want to upgrade or you have a job, there are variety of choices if you want but most of the local Bangkok workers who has a normal job here in Bangkok(income about us$800-us$2000 per month) most of them pay extra fees for their insurance and I believe most of the Bangkok people who has a good job in Bangkok(us$2,000-us$100,000 per month) all of them has many particular insurance.
Link to objective stats-data to confirm that please. ,I would imagine best hub depends on patient location, distance to travel, procedures needed. Clearly in north america central and south america offer expertise and world class facilities and much closer than Thailand. A US doctor I know says in medicine beware of "red flag statements" like "best medical hub of the world" He said doctors are taught to be especially leery when they see such superlative statements.

I made the mistake of coming to Thailand without insurance and had a asthma attack, I was admitted into Bumrumgrad International. Cost me close to 100,000 baht for 1 and a half days my treatment was second to none. Ten years prior I had a more severe asthma attack in the UK and was hospitalised for a week and had my own room it cost me nothing and again the treatment was second to none.

Chris, are you saying thailand has better health care then canada?. I just had a friend that had a cancer spot removed from her lung. It was caught very early and was at stage one. The whole procedure cost her around $67.00US. Under medicare. I guess you should go to Kevin-in -thailand. As a healthcare provider, I'm so happy to see how these important services are provided in such a beautiful place . As usual, the Thais know how to do it in style. Thanks for sharing
I just had total hip replacement in Chiangmai this week. About 12000 with 4 nights stay in the hospital. So far so good.

I just started tuning into to your channel. I am considering semi retirement and started watching vloggs to get a better idea where to go to. I am going to Thailand in December, and find that your channel gives a more complete view of what Thailand has to offer. Great job. Oh, and I also loved the dog video.
Awesome video, Chris. This is one of the reasons you're one of the go to Thailand channels.
Very informative, thank you Chris. It also makes me feel proud of the country that I will be moving to.
Don't wait, come and work here, the big war is going to occur soon. But you are safe living here, come early and select best province you prefer. Prachubkirikhan, or Huahin are more quiet and don't worry about wifi, it is fast everywhere(5G)
No foreigner really talk about this as often before. This is really interesting. 👍🏻
Best video on this subject I have ever seen will definitely keep this as I get closer to retirement
Glad it was helpful!
This was an awesome video Chris & I know the information you have provided will be extremely helpful to a lot of people including myself & my husband! Thanks for being proactive for us and YES, we love videos like this every now and then:) We love you Chris 😘
Excellent episode! The medical services I have received in Thailand, dental (Khon Kean Hug Dental) and surgical (Bangkok Hospital Samui) have been exceptional.
Wow this is amazing! Up here in Can-a-der we have.... sort of free medical care (you pay through taxes). The largest problem here is a shortage of certain types of doctors and the wait times far exceed what they should.
Canadian government should give incentives to doctors who go into the fields that have doctor shortages.
What all patients who come to the hospital in Thailand You will feel the care that comes from the hearts of Thai people who really take care of you during the treatment. It's not just one of their jobs. which is nowhere else in the world
My wife had surgery in 2017 and it was unbelievable great service and professionalism at a fraction of the cost here in Australia.
This is a great content! I'm Thai. I've been living aborad so long. It the time to go back to check up my health. Before I have seen this vdo I was searching about surgery clinics that I plan to get thing done. Now I'm getting old so it good idea to check up my health as well! Thank you for your VDO

Thank Goodness for Thailands Medical tourism. I know many people who they saved with easy medical access.
Another great video Chris! Would love to see it through the eyes of a patient mate. Any chance for a future video with a couple different patients going through a procedure from arriving in Bangkok to recovery?
Keep up the great work mate! Cheers 👍🏻🙏🏻👌🏻
There are reviews from tourists who came to give birth in Thailand and registered for pregnancy since the first month and many other reviews from real experiences. If you want the link, I will find it for you.😊
I'm a male nurse in Toronto and i can tell you that a nosejob (rhinoplasty) for $1500 is one hell of a deal. Great stuff!
Thanks!
yeah there is many tourist from middle-east travel to take medical care in thailand i was once work as luxury apartment caretaker and the room was book full all years by those Arab who come here to medical care and went i ask why they come here to thailand they answer is it's cheap and medical care is topnotch and they can go tour around all cost at up is still cheaper than they medical bill in they own country
I've always had it in the back of my mind that I might need this one day,
Thanks
I had a short visit at Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin earlier this year. The service level is absolutely fantastic!
Chris you are turning out to be a HERO of Thailand 👍
My final cost was $71.53.
wow which company insrance did you buy from ? thank you!
Thanks so much for this information! Very helpful!

Thailand has a policy to treat all diseases at a price of 30 baht, equal to 0.87 dollars for Thai people and Thailand has one of the top 5 public health sites in the world.
This is the first time I heard that Thailand ranks no 5 globally in public health care sevice.

@@jimmystar6730 My wife is a dentist and she runs a private dental clinic in a major province in Thailand. Her clinic charges around 40,000 bht/tooth (1,600 AUD) for the implant. In private clinics/hospitals in Thailand, tooth implant would cost in the range of 30,000-90,000 bht/tooth (1,200 -3,600 AUD) depending on the quality of instruments/luxury of the place/and the dentist's fee.
Thanks a lot ...Chris. You make Thailand like a paradise on earth again.
Excellent video. I had major nasal surgery at World Medical Center in 2020. Superb service, top notch doctor.

I've had surgeries in Bumrungrad, BNH and Samitivej. BNH is hands down the best!
The healthcare was probably the largest factor in my decision to retire here in Chiang Mai.
Why did you wait ten years ? Curious

Your videos are awesome! I love all the different perspectives. Well done!
Perfect timing! I was just starting to look into a visit for a medical procedure. Only question I have after watching is how they handle scheduling. Do they consult via video-conferencing or do you have to fly to Thailand for an initial consultation, then fly out again for the procedure?
Wow, excellent video. Totally impressed!
Like always, quality stuff, thanks Chris.
This is so incredibly Helpful!!! Thank you. It is greatly appreciated.
LOL
I have severe back pain due to an injury. Almost ten years ago I was paralyzed from the waist down. The top surgeons and specialists in New England stated that I would spend the rest of my life in a wheel chair. My response to them was, shall we say, significantly less than polite and quite loud! LOL
After three months I walked out of the hospital and have been walking ever since.
Go figure! LOL
If there is any way that such repair work can be done in Thailand I'm in for it!
Where is NL?

Thailand is the best medical hub of the world, high standard medical practices, staffs, facilities and the best services with reasonable price.

If a Thai tourist had an asthma attack in the UK, his treatment would be second to none but not FREE! The Thai tourist is not a UK taxpayer and is not entitled to free medical care under the NHS. It goes both ways!
