  • Hi Nail Friends! I'm a DIY at home dip powder and gel polish nail artist. I am not a professional, just having fun and saving $ by doing my own dip powder and gel manis!
I'm fixing my traitor nail (again)! I've tried builder gel and coffee filter repairs on this channel before, but today we are going to try something new! This is my honest first impressions reviewing the new Gelly Tips from Double Dip Nails. I've never tried a full coverage tip before, so this is entirely an all new experience for me. I'll show you how I mess up, and then what I learn to achieve a successful reconstructed nail! I hope this helps if you are interested in alternatives for nail extensions/repairs.
Update 7/22/21: Hey Friends! I heard from Double Dip and I accidentally had received the wrong gel product so that’s probably why my first two tries weren’t great. The right product is called a 4-in-1 gel base! I’m gonna try it again with that. But on my third try it did work with the regular builder gel and has stayed on, so at least that’s good! ❤️❤️❤️

Why are you dipping over them? Why not buff it out & put gel polish on them?

I just tried to use the beetles tips with the gel “glue”. I didn’t have much luck with them. My nails are flat so I kept having a huge bubble/gap between my natural nail and the tip. Do you have any tricks for this problem. I know you have more of a natural apex so you probably didn’t have this issue.
    Gorgeous mani btw.😍

      Thank you so much!
Oh no! I’m not sure what to do, except maybe load up more of the product in the tip. 🥺
Are you in the Facebook group? I wonder if the ladies have some tricks for this?

You need to add more gel. You have to fill that apex gap according to your nail shape. The flatter the nail the more product needed.

Okay yes I finally got around to watching this. Thats what I think im doing wrong also is pressing too hard. I have now got the 4-1 base from them to try since its supposed to hold better. Im having the issue of building my apex being my nail is so flat. I also just watched a video of doing it with polygel as thats thicker and better for flatter nails. Im gonna try with Triple D acrygel though and see if thats better for me. Thank you for showing the mistakes as thats the same thing that was happening to me😍

I have to apply these for every mani I do. Just finished putting a set on right now. You did great for your first time. Their zero doesn't fit my wide a$$ thumb.

Ok, thought it was just me - it doesn't fit my thumbs either ... I find the sizes run just one smaller than most other tip sizes

@@lindabrooks66 Nothing truly fits my thumb. The arch is so high it takes up width space. The sculpted ones from ENC I can kinda flatten a bit to make it fit for a temp mani. Otherwise, I have to slide it down a bit and backfill it. #WideNailThumbs
