- Hi Nail Friends! I'm a DIY at home acrylic dip powder and gel polish user. I am not a professional, just having fun and saving $ by doing my own dip powder and gel manis! This is my MOST requested video! I will show you how I shape my nails, both coffin and almond shape. Sorry in advance that it’s looooong! I tried to go slow, and in real time to explain and show you what I do. Please remember I’m not a nail tech, just a nail enthusiast, so this is what works for me to get results I love.

I'm going to have to do the table thing for my right hand. Last night tried my new drill for first time on my hands. Tried to clean up cuticles only. Super awkward especially on my non dominant hand. Great video's and tips!

Great video! So you just e-file around your cuticle and then buff? You don’t have to file the nail at all?
Yes! That’s all I do usually. If I have a chunky glitter I might try to file on top to even it out.

I’ve been searching for the star on your left middle finger and can’t seem to find it. I don’t think it’s the Holographic Star Glitter you have in the description box(not sure if that’s what you have on your right ring and middle finger). I did see something on Double Dip’s site called Winter Glitter Snowflake Sequin.....is that it? If not, please let me know ASAP where you purchased it from. I’m going to buy the other dip colors, but would love to buy that as well to complete the look, which is gorgeous btw!!

You are right, they do call the Snowflakes the Winter Glitter Snowflakes Sequins on the site! I’m pretty sure the one I used is the gold one from the Snowflake B set. I’ll update the description, and I’m glad you asked because I was being confusing calling them that.

That drill looks amazing. Have you tried a mini skiver bit for your cuticles and dead skin on the plate? It is so much easier and gentler than that ball bit. I was always a square gal but I have been training and shaping in a coffin. I want the smile line to have a curve too. The almond looks lovely on you too. How long do you spend on shaping and filing and gel overlay? I swear I spend hours coz I can't see and I am a sloth. I love the dip mani's. The right hand's blue's are gorgeous. Great video Miranda. Thank you! Usually I’m faster but trying to file on camera is a little different! I have a bit like that, I’ll try it out. I honestly don’t normally do a bit around my cuticles because I change colors so often I don’t worry about lifting but I was playing with the drill and liked it! I hope you keep doing videos too! You have excellent manis!
@@CorgisWineAndNails Oh no, don't use it every mani. Like 1 or 2 times a month and if you are doing an infill or something. I usually use it once a month when I do the hard work on the nails. Not the fun stuff and thank you

Hi, this is kinda a off topic question, however my girlfriend and I were in a bit of a debate as to the size of the single large diamond on your engagement ring. I said 1/2 to over a 1/2 carrot she said less than 1/2. I know it's a bit personal, but could you help us settle the debate?

At what point would you buff when doing gel method? I find I’m buffing off all my glitter!
Thanks for watching! Are you doing a dip of clear dip powder over the glitter dip before buffing? That should help prevent buffing off the glitter.
@@CorgisWineAndNails no I’m not, I found with gel method doing a dip of clear made it all cloudy! I think I’ll try and do a layer of top coat and then buff
