- Even though the Shelby GT500 will be hitting dealerships soon, Ford has decided to sprinkle some of the benefits of the GT500 with the GT350R. Under the hood is the 5.2L Voodoo V8 pumping out 526 HP & mated to a slick shifting tremec 6-speed gearbox. That car has solidified itself in the top 5 of the greatest Mustangs ever built. IMO.
I'd say the GT350R is currently number two after the 65 GT500. I prefer it to the SVTs, 350s, 500, and even Super Snakes of the past. The 2020 GT500 might pass it though.
@@olicc 2020 GT500 would of if they didn't give in to making the car not available in manual. I'm sure the 7speed is great and all, but manual is a dying breed and car drivers like myself need a manual!! GT350 all the way!

This really is one of the best sports cars on the market right now. Absolutely incredible. And I LOVE that you actually DRIVE the car and put the hammer down! The smaller grill opening is to increase front down force to balance the extra rear down force from the larger wing.

Ah yeah..... you know what I also love mostly more than the improvements of the steering calibration and the shock system, the Engine. The Loud 5.2 Liter Flat Plane Crank Voodoo V8 Motor makes a unique lovely exotic racy feel from that noise that revs up to 8250 rpm. Like I-I can’t how awesome it sounds. Yes both the GT350R and the GT500 sounds absolutely loud and awesome however the GT350R has more of a perfect noise vibration that you can enjoy this all day than the GT500 because the GT500 has the Cross Plane Crank Supercharged V8 Motor that revs up to 7500 rpm or something that sounds really good but awesome, but this particular Motor from the GT350R feels special. It’s more of a unique tone that no other American Sports Cars can make most of the time. But hey either way both the GT350R and GT500 are both extremely incredible. Hands down the most capable Mustangs in history. Keep up the good work Ford. Go Beyond, PLUS ULTRA!!!🙌⭐️🏁

I know you just did a review on a really loud 2014 mustang GT, but I would love to see your reaction/review to a 2014 mustang GT500!!!! By far my favorite mustang and if you liked the GT you did you would for sure love the Gt500, I also noticed you haven’t done a review on one yet except for a older 2011 one last year

The GT350/R is literally the perfect and ideal build for a Mustang imo (exterior appearance wise). Absolutely love it!

You're killing me Joe! Bravo on another great review. I had an 84 1/2 GT 350, traded it for a Comp Orange 2004 Mach 1. It's time for me to get rid of my Charger Scat Pack (aka Big Bertha) and get back to 2 doors now that my Daughter is growing up. I love the Iconic Silver, guaranteed my next car will be Silver. I'm not sure if I'd get the R, most likely I'd stick with the non R GT350. I'd have to put on black GT350 racing stripes on the side (it's tradition). Zonk that Ford did not at least make that an option. I'd also like to get the LED dash, a must have in any new Mustang. I would love to see a review of the Roush 3 and a Yellow Label Saleen. I an older guy, I love my normal aspirated engines. I can't see myself getting anything Supercharged don't want the extra heat or weight. Triple.

So you’ve test drove both the 2019 and 2020 gt350r. The steering nuckle has been changed for the 2020. Can you tell a difference with the driving experience, steering feel between the 2?

I think Ford made a mistake with the 2016 and not having the right engine coolers. I have see plenty of GT350s that have not blown up.

Just a FYI they are moving the Ford Performance Racing School to Charlotte NC starting next year. I got back from my track day out in Tooele (actually Grantsville, UT) a few weeks ago and that's what they told us.
rayl50rvps yes it’s a special car. The driving experience is amazing. The sound and handling are incredible and the fact that it comes in a manuel transmission makes it a even more rare. There’s nothing like hitting a good down shift and accelerating out of a corner.

Im upgrading to a new R the issue is i called every dealer who has a 2020 R and are asking 15-35k over msrp where as i can get a 19 under msrp. Have you noticed how the 2020 feels versus the earlier versions with the GT500 front suspension.?

I just watched videos from both of y’alls channels and really appreciate getting the info and perspectives of the 2019 vs 2020 GT350Rs. I’m inking the deal on a brand new 2019 R and got it for $3K under msrp. I think the 2020s might be the last of the 350Rs and so getting a 2020 under msrp definitely won’t happen if that comes to fruition. Just my humble opinion thanks!

I prefer the regular GT350, (rear seats) by far my favorite Mustang, including the GT500, and better imo than any Camaro or Challenger, including ZL1 and Hellcat.

After first prod. year, almost 2x the GT500’s (5K). Not only is GT350R better balanced, it will prove a better investment. Even after 4 years, there’s roughly 3k total.
