Hundreds of comments on how motivating this video is. Do not forget this is the man that proposed and planned the highly risky military operation to bring OBL to justice. We are not just motivated by this man we are all safer because he used all these ethics to face terrorism head on. He is a leader. He is a warrior. He is a patriot.

I spent my entire life scared of change and blaming my misery on others…. This speech was the reason I dropped everything, moved out of Chicago, started college at 29 now, and now I am graduating double major!! Today I started my internship at one of the largest companies in the world… and and signed an offer that guarantees a high paying job that starts two weeks after I graduate…. In 2.5 years I fixed what I missed up for 29 years because of this speech!!

10 basic seal life lessons to change the world:
1 start your day by making your bed.
2 find someone to help you paddle
3 measure a person by the size of their heart not flippers
4 if you wanna change the world get over being a "sugar-cookie" & keep moving forward
5 dont be afraid of the "circuses" (extra training)
6 slide down the obstacles head first
7 dont back down from the sharks
8 you must be your very best in the "darkest times"

I retired after 21 years in the Army, all as an infantryman. Numerous tours to the Middle East and Africa. Even after 14 years of leaving my beloved career, I seem to miss it every day. I have listened to this speech over 50 times. Especially on those dark days where I can't get my head quite right. And every time I listen to it, it helps me remember why I joined. What I joined for. And to be proud of the job that we had done. In today's society, where it is not fashionable to be proud of America and to be patriotic, I can hold my head up and stand on the principles that were instilled in me as a young man. All gung hoe and eager to get on every deployment or school possible. I look back and think to myself, is this the same America that my brothers died for? To all who have served and that are currently serving, I say thank you for your service. God bless every one of you and your families. It's a hell of a ride and it goes way too fast. Enjoy every minute and embrace the suck! RLTW

My mom quoted this at my high school graduation. We didn't think that the other graduates were listening too much... But I was later invited to a beach retreat with almost all 13 of them(we were homeschooled), and we all shared a beach house. I noticed that everyone, even the boys, made their beds. I had known all these kids all my life, and none of them ever made their beds. But now, just a week after we graduated, they all started to. My mom was smiling so brightly when I told her about it. Such simple actions can change the world, and such simple words can motivate some of the most subborn people I have ever known.

In my forties I suffered from depression, ADHD and horrible, crippling procrastination. I'm going to be 60 next birthday and have never been happier. I found my faith in God, I make my bed, I work for myself and I exercise. The power of momentum is incredible. Just as one step propels you forward, each action builds on the next action to get you where you are. Birthdays used to depress me as I measured them by how much I had failed to achieve in my life. I give thanks to God and can't wait to celebrate the next one.

A very important person in my life that I was fortunate enough to meet when he made it home from the MARINE'S told me to never let anything stand in your way don't ever be scared of anything or anyone and it doesn't matter how many of them that there is fear no one or anything. And whatever obstacles that are set before you, you either climb over it go under it or around it. If that doesn't work you have to go right through the middle of it whatever it takes to get to the the other side of it. I took those words with me and made it a point to make sure that I remembered them and used it as a tool to get through a lot rough things in life. I was lucky to get in the military the last month they took GED diplomas…afterwards High School degrees only. I feel lucky to have served a 20 year career in the military starting from E-1 to retire O4 USN active duty. I learned so much and was inspired by so many during my military career. I used my military skill sets to work another 16 years as a civilian following my military career. I’m now a fully retired multi-millionaire, a true rag to riches stories. Thank you for posting this. I am having a really tough time right now, I am a disabled person, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy and Autism. I am a part-time history professor, who does not have much money. But, I do have a woman, who I love dearly with all my heart. We are separated by a vast ocean, and she is rightly angry with me. I have fought and tried to get other jobs, but have been denied due to my disabilities. There have been days when I really want to die. But, I want to change the world. I want to change her world. She is my guide, and she is the greatest and bravest woman I have ever met. She is worth everything, AND I WILL NOT HESITATE TO SURVIVE THIS CIRCUS! I WILL GO IN HEAD FIRST, AND I WILL NEVER RING THAT BELL! Thank you, again, for squaring me up!

I made a change without any training or degrees that a lot of other people have that i don’t have and always said that I didn’t need because my ancestors blessed me of the ways of the old and old fashioned. I was happy and proud I learned from them. I learned what it means to have a heart and courage and bravery and leadership by listening to the stories that mattered the most to me and I can’t and won’t ever forget those stories

This is so true, my son became a Marine back in Dec of 2020, he told me he misses Basic Training I said why that was 13 weeks of Hell...he told me I was somebody to the corp, my instructors kept the faith in me and made me want to conquer everthing Basic had, well this past February he ranked up to PFC...while others didnt...I told my son before he left to be a team player and that's the only way your going to survive and to your DIs your going to stand out...I also told him he wasn't going to make alot of money which all military branches should make awhole lot more but back to my point I told him what I was taught, is to make friends and brothers over money every day...money comes and goes but true friends and your brothers in the Corp will always be their when you need them at your lowest point in your life or whatever the case maybe...well my son came home in March for leave and he was a totally new man....I made him a young man being that he was 18 but the corp had chipped away the ruff edges and made him a man while he turned 19 in Basic...Now he is a morterman and now has fallen into a different platoon that finally the corp is getting new guns, vehicles and are putting them into 7 man boat crews...he leaves for Fort Polk in a few months to learn how to drive a zodiac off a carrier and how to drive it in high seas....he is also the sniper in his boat crew....along with two brothers that carry lite MG and three that carry the M27 but with acog scopes...I talk to him every week unless hes out in the field setting up ambushes on a different company...he set for 6 hours just observing the company movements and writing down what he saw and how far they were and the wind and stuff like that....I think everyman should serve before they go out and exploit this country we live free in, just so they know what it takes to be free...It takes a strong will man to sign your name on that line that you will defend this country at all cost and even up to your life...Since we cant whoop our children and discipline them like my dad did me then they all should get that discipline from the corp or any other branch of the USA has...so yes the lessons he is given are so true cause I didnt haft to remind him to make his bed, i didn't haft to cook for him he cooked for me, he got up every morning to work out and run, I didnt haft to pick up behind him so yes this speech should be heard by any young teenager...it will build confidence in yourself but remember to stay humble dont let your pride get in your way...By the way this is my wife's account iam just using it till they send my phone back...Stay blessed and humbled and have a great day

"I think everyman should serve before they go out and exploit this country we live free in, just so they know what it takes to be free.." YOU HAVE GOT TO BE SHITTING ME!!!! Clearly you have NO regard for what your fellow American does. People like you will even think no one should be allowed to VOTE unless they served in a military!!!! THINK A LITTLE BEFORE YOU INSULT OTHER AMERICANS!!!
