Easier to spend $30 and get the real deal. This is the Hymie Scott version of a real starter.

put a glow plug on there and then see if it starts. I don't think it has enough torque.

What are you talking about? You can easily tell there is a glow plug in it from the compression you can see from it spinning. That's why the prop suddenly stopped at the end when he pulled the starter out. You can see the prop swinging back and forth from the air pressure inside the engine.
This kind of engine the glue plug sits deep inside because of the size of the engine. The heat sink is massive in these engines.

What size or part number is the electric motor. I fly rc and free flight and that motor would work great on a .049 engine.

I got the 18v motor from an old cordless drill I picked up for free from the recycle center.
however you can get motors like these from ebay for really cheap.
