I think she was scared she did something wrong...and then when her mom didn't come over to reprimand her, she went back to the stump. I think she was shocked that she was able to knock it down. What a beautiful little sweetheart!
Well, elephants are so nice at heart,I guess the kid is worried that it hurt the log and wants it back standing. How utterly nice of him for worrying for the log.
That wonderful, intelligent baby was using a TOOL! She was upset it broke. Then she went back to see if it could be fixed. That is awesome! So intelligent.
That white-of-the-eyes look as he struggles to get up is so expressive of something but I'm not sure what. Fear, embarrassment, surprise, wtf? ... perhaps all of them.
I love how he ran over to the other baby as if to say, "Okay. Okayokayokayokay... That log just fell over. I'm pretty sure it wasn't supposed to... And just in case I'm right, let's get our stories straight......... You did it. Not me, you. *Hides behind the other baby* Besides, you're closest. Everyone knows, the closest one to the problem is automatically the one at fault. So see, it was you! .... *Slowly goes back to the log to see if he can fix it* ...It was you.........." Other baby: "...What are you talking about? Those things fall all the time." XD
Omg.. i laughed at first. Then I felt bad and then I felt really bad... he came back slowly and started checking the stick from this to that end.. poor baby.❤
She is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE & PRECIOUS!! My Lord!! Can anything get any cuter?!! I would love to just kiss her, brush that little fuzz on her head, and hug her!!!
I can't miss watching this clip again. I just admire the way he kept feeling the log up n down ....all the time wondering how exactly it fell....what did I do? I was just scratching ...what happened...how can I make it stand. ....hahaha...so thoughtful.
Asian poopaphants have more hair than African ones. When they grow up and become elephants, they lose most of their hair. The Asian elephants are closer related to mammoths, than African Elephants.
adorable! she must have thought the log was a living thing...she looked super guilty after knocking it down....hahahaha love the crazy eye roll....and the leg itch.....
Baby elephants, especially Asian/Indian babies, often have more hair when young and it gradually thins as they get older. Some have more than others. Besides, it makes him an individual and kinda cute. :)
dude I must have watched this video a year ago and just happened across it again-- and people are still fighting over the same things, depressing but Im still glad you're sticking to your points.
OMG that is awesome... poor baby couldn't figure out why that post wouldn't come back up... I mean after all he got back up after they fell lol!!! And didn't want to give up on it, I love elephants!
Hahaha. .how sweet and cutely naughty. The log falls off....he runs... And hides behind the other calf...feeling guilty all the time. Then his guilt brings it out. He comes again to scrutinize and to see if he can do something about it. Thinks n thinks while feeling the log. Hahaha...just like human beings. But I wonder y the other calf is so calm and quiet. I hope it's well.
I was thinking of an old cow scratching itself on a fence post. And the surprise look the calf got on its face. "Whoa!" And you gotta love that head hair or whatever it's called.
You seriously think after all this time and scientific and biological study we are just "guessing" that elephants are intelligent, compassionate and have amazing memories? That has been proven, both scientifically and with numerous videos, anecdotes, etc. repeatedly and assuredly. I think religion is often the opposite of science and education.
0:34 - He's so funny when he's getting ready to rub himself on the wooden pole and he falls with it, because obviously this post is too fragile and can't stand up when the elephant despite it rubs on it. Thank you for these unbelievable pictures...
Elephants think in a way similar but not exactly like humans. He or she is thinking about why its favorite scratching post fell over. You can tell this by how it focuses on the base that used to be stuck in the ground. Unlike a human or another primate or a bird, an elephant won't try to fix something it has broken. If one ever did, that would be a really cool leap by these highly intelligent animals. I wouldn't put it past an elephant to do so one day.
Did you see me knock down that tree? Ya I did it! I better go put it back. It won't go back. Humm, wonder if I can knock down that bigger one? I wasn't doing anything mom.
So sweet.Very much like a human child, when it does something naughty or broke something they run away and try to hide lol.

Poor sweet baby! I love his tiny little trunk 😍
"Oh yeah, nothing like a good scratch. Now all I have to do is change position and then I--WHAT IS THIS SORCERY!?!!??!"
I think she was scared she did something wrong...and then when her mom didn't come over to reprimand her, she went back to the stump. I think she was shocked that she was able to knock it down. What a beautiful little sweetheart!
What a cute, adorable and smart baby elephant!❤❤❤🎉
Well, elephants are so nice at heart,I guess the kid is worried that it hurt the log and wants it back standing. How utterly nice of him for worrying for the log.
And he is also worried that the next log he scratches against will also collapse and die 😢
It's so cute how he tries to inspect it later to see if the log is alright or dead or why it's just laying there and won't get back up, LOL.
That wonderful, intelligent baby was using a TOOL! She was upset it broke. Then she went back to see if it could be fixed. That is awesome! So intelligent.

Other baby: "...What are you talking about? Those things fall all the time." XD

+Kaiser Frost oh yes - great observation - he's studying what happened but doesn't quite come to a conclusion about what could be done.
But neither would a human his age.
its like a baby mammoth
I love the right leg that just sticks out after she falls
These are indeed orphaned elephants. There's other videos about this sanctuary and this particular little elephant as well.
Did you see me knock down that tree? Ya I did it!

It won't go back.
Humm, wonder if I can knock down that bigger one?
