I read the 1st year is so important forthe baby elephant. This beautiful baby is so precious. Thank you for helping to feed her so she may flourish. ❤️
Strange that the keeper/carer doesn't offer the comfort of touch, of bodily contact to the baby. The young women seems clueless -- and the infant refuses to suckle. Sad.
It seems baby is the only elephant in the enclosure . It should be shifted to a heard or even share space with some other small animals like goat , dog etc
This poor sweet little baby is depressed and lonely, this is so heartbreaking and hard to watch. Please give him some attention and love ,he desperately needs both. .The reason he doesn't want to eat, is because he's very sad, and downhearted. Sheldrick's in Kenya, cares specifically for orphans, maybe they could give you some advice. I am not saying that to be judgemental. When the string and blanket were removed, you could see that it had been tied too tight. Please give an update, and location. Thank you for the video.
It looks like the baby is starving for affection as well! Elephants are very affectionate, social animals and this wee one has nobody to show him love! Very sad!
Wow, this woman is heartless, this is not the right job for her she needs to be fired. This was four years ago and I hope that this baby elephant is doing much better. Amystan please respond to the comments and let us know where this is and how this baby is doing.
poor little baby, looks very undernourished and neglected ! I know its now been a few years since this vid was made. do you have an update on this little one, who is most likely a huge one by now? thx
I wish I was there 2 feed him & cuddle him is he 2 big 2 suckle mum. Where is it's mum. It looks like German shepherd w/ a trunk. It has quite a bit of hair on it's body. How old is this baby elephant.
Getting calves to bottle feed is not always as easy as some people make it out to be...for a long time elephants were considered impossible to hand raise, and even today in the best run orphanages the death rate approaches 50%. Some calves take to take to the bottle easily, others don't like it and prefer to starve to death. Many of these orphaned, rejected, and abandoned calves have very deep emotional trauma, and they simply can't get past it and prefer to die.
YOU CAN NOT JUST FEED HIM OR HER AND NOT TALK OR PLAY WITH THIS BABY, IT NEEDS MORE THAN MILK TO GROW UP BIG AND STRONG, PLAY WITH HER, RUB HER DOWN GIVE HER SOME MUSIC, TALK TO HER...I WAS SAD FOR THIS LITTLE ONE AND WANTED MORE FOR HIM OR HER...
Look at all the women in the comments, who have never raised or probably not seen an elephant in their lives, criticizing someone who is caring for it based on a three minute video 😆

I don't think the girl knows that she should touch her, cuddle, pet, push her; all signs of affection for baby elephants.
Heartbreaking, where’s the love? Please cuddle the baby.
I think the little one wants/needs a cuddle.
I love Elephants 🐘🐘🐘❤️❤️❤️ all of them
I hope the uploader will notice the comments and will care more to those precious ones.
The little one wants contact, but the woman thinks only in his milk. Its sad to see.
I feel bad for this poor baby.
He wants to be cuddled

Why won't she pet the baby? Elephants are very social. Pet the baby please!
what is this? a baby elephant should not be isolated in a pen. these animals need to be in a social environment.

idiot care giver ! has no idea how to love this little orphan ! whats she doing here anyway???!
Hi Jan, don't u think he looks like a BEAR
Beautiful work with her. Notice that she transitions from alleviating her hunger to exploration.
