While I’ve only been a passenger in a GT 350. I own a 2013 Boss and I’ll tell you, it’s a Fn blast to drive. It makes power all through the rpm range, handles like a dream, sounds amazing. The S197 body style is easily my favorite. Last of the muscle car if you ask me and it’s also a lot lighter and I love driving solid rear axle cars. I’ll never get rid of the Boss.
@@Audfile Hello, while I know pretty much everything there is to know about mustangs, I don’t know a lot about vets. I do like them, but I’ve never driven one. The Vette is probably a bit quicker since it’s about 500lbs lighter. The boss is basically a track car made for the streets, it’s insane to drive and I absolutely love the look of mustangs. If you are just looking for a fast cruiser, by the vet, but if you’d like to drive like me, buy the Boss. I did a lot of researched and talked to a lot of other boss owners before I made my purchase and I’ve been 100% happy with it. I’ll never get rid of this car!
What wheels sizes is the Boss 302S running as those wheels look like the stock 19x9 fronts and 19x10 rears? 295/30 R19 is a huge tire for a 10" wheel I would think so?
I was there that weekend just to watch and get a sense of how things had changed since I last ran RA in the 90's. You ran group 2 ... I knew several who ran and its amazing how a number of different Mustangs in Group 1 were running around that 2:30-2:32 lap time. I came back to run last year and realized getting familiar with the car was going to take more seat time. Nice video ... my windshield mount vibrated as bad as yours did ... I need a solution for that.
Very informative. Ive been contemplating going to a dedicated track car. 302s Could be a more realistic choice since there are so few FP350s cars available. They seem both to be bringing a premium price right now.
the boss 302 is built stronger. ported and polished heads stock. 444hp 390tq. the boss has the better engine. the gt350 makes more power but is not as strong. they are pretty close in speed. I'll take the boss 302 myself.
Nice video for sure. I think both cars are really great but GT350 there’s too much hype. Boss 302 is more old school. Meaning you can add much more power to the engine without compromising it and you can change to better suspension for equal or better to GT350 handling. Boss 302 doesn’t get much press but in my opinion Boss 302 has much more potential race car ready and value later years. FYI Boss 302 has the roadrunner and not the coyote engine. Making it far more race quality if you want to.
Yeah I would go with the 302 as well only thing you needed was a wider wheelbase and frame for and to think the 302 is riding on a live rare axle compared to the 350s independent rare suspension this magnetic Ride dampers
If you have a Boss 302 hang on to it. People will wake to it one day and it will go through the roof. Rare factory built pure race track car built for the public.
GT350 cornering a lot faster due to magneride suspensions and wider tires. The difference in reality should favorite GT350 more significant than in the video.
I would have expected the Shelby to have at least a little lead on the Boss. I’m not sure what suspension the 302S comes with, but suspension, solid axle, and less power should have made a bigger difference
Which goes to show you only thing Ford needed to do was widen the stance and the wheelbase of the mustang they could have stuck with the live rare axle a bit longer
The production Boss 302 was made for 2012 and 2013 so you are correct. However, the Boss 302S, which is the car in the video, was also made in 2014. The Boss 302S is the track-ready version of the Boss 302. Even more so than the Laguna Seca version.
Perfect comparision of 2 great cars. Amazing that a street car can run with a dedicated track car. Enjoyed the track videos side by side.

I'm considering a Boss 302 or a C5 Vette Z06. What would you pick and maybe why?

Using a GoPro mounted to the roll bar is the best way to go, the Boss 302s has an AIM SmartyCam mounted to the roll bar.

I wonder how an S550 with the Perf Pack would do vs. these two cars?

Added note.
GT350 Voodoo
GT 5.0 Coyote
Boss 302 Roadrunner
Engine code names.

Great comparison. How long do those Hoosiers last on cars with this amount of power and weight?
About 80 mins of track time.

a lot heavier car
Thanks for the vid

We need more track videos!
p.s. I thought boss was only 12-13
varulalin they are

There was no such thing as a factory 2014 Boss 302, FYI. Edit: Perhaps the 302S was, but had no title, IIRC.
This video is about a 2014 Boss 302S
Coo
Wdym it’s not street legal
The Boss 302S does not have a VIN number and cannot be registered for the street.
you talk super awkward
???? No he doesn't.
@@thracian2072 yes he does
@@Kevin_2442 He sounded fine. Maybe you've just got comprehension issues.
@@thracian2072I feel he's on the right track. he just seems uncomfortable, and awkward when talking to the camera.
