    The 2012/2013 Boss 302 is the best Mustang you can buy for the money right now. It had the most positive press I’ve ever seen for a car.

      That’s correct. It is the best handeling live axle muscle car ever made.
      That’s coming straight from professional race car driver Billy Johnson.
      I also might add that this is THE LAST TRUE OLD SCHOOL MUSCLE CAR EVER MADE !
      In 2015 Mustang went to the IRS and in 2014 obviously the GT 500 has a blower on it as they all do, so that rules them out as a true muscle car.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 Рік тому +1

      @“ The Lemonade 🍋 Man “ why would having a blower rule the gt500 out of being a muscle car? The 5.4 and 5.8 gt500s have the same long stroke so the engines are torque happy to begin with and with the blower on top their bottom end torque monsters and they have a more old school muscle car sound. They're definitely the definition of a muscle car and more geared towards straight line stuff. The boss is an all motor high rpm screamer that handles amazing and is also amazing in a different way. I have an 07 gt500 with a gen3r and I am planning to purchase a boss to park beside it in the future as I love both cars but both cars being v8s with manuals and solid axles they both are definitely muscle cars that do what they do different but are both great.

      @@midnight347 In the sense that a Boss 302 Mustang 2012/2013 is more authentic to what the original muscle cars were about, all engine man. At a certain point you have to make a distinction a cut off line if u will.
      I’ll give you an example.
      The same way you can’t really compare a Corvette with a Mustang or Camaro.
      At some point there is a line you cross over that you have to create a separate class of designation.
      I’m not the only person that agrees with this sentiment. You have your opinion, and if it works for your mind, that’s all you should care about right ?

    I was in the market for this, or a newer GT350. The GT350 doesn't feel faster in a straight line. The Boss is every bit as much fun and really does have a special feel to it. I like the seating position better and the exhaust note might still be the best of any mustang ever produced. I've owned 6 mustangs and many other fun cars including a Porsche Cayman S. This car provides the most smiles per gallon.

    Mine is a 2013 Lugna with 7K on the clock and I'll never sell it, going to the grave with the registration still in my name! So much fun to drive, so raw, great feedback and the exhaust note at 7 grand.... Yea MT 82 sucks, but a replacement MGW shifter and the Amsoil mix of 2 qts 75-90 and 1 Qt syncromesh make life OK. Really needs a clutch that will release cleanly at 7K to fix the mess. I have a 2022 Mach 1 and a 2012 GT 500 in the stable also, but tonight I had to decide which one was going to Pottstown Saturday night show with me and I jumped in the Boss. Every time I run down the road in it I have a smile ear to ear! It really is the best of the S197 Mustangs, Thank you Dave Pericak and your team for the effort you guys put into this car to get it right.

I put a maxiumn motorsport suspension kit on it and doing some minor mods but thats it. These cars just have so much character to them, it never gets old driving/racing it. @Miko R. I haven't had any issues with my 2012. It's been a great car and I'm happy I went with it over the shelby. Not a car show guy, but occasionally jump in one. And when you see 20 shelbys and maybe 1 boss in the whole show. It validates my decision even more. The only knock I have on the car is the interior, it's a little plain inside. Especially compared to the shelby. But I really dont mind. When your full throttle down a straight away and those side exhausts are opened up, thats all I need. I will say that a clutch upgrade on these cars is worth the money. Really any mustang with the mt82 needs a different clutch. As far as motor wise, the road runner has been established to take a massive amount of power in stock form. It's built stronger then the shelby. If boost is what you want, throw a paxton on it with a fuel system and tune and go dust shelbys up with no issues

    That was fun. Thanks. Found a MidWest 12 in Performance White with 6300 miles. Two-owner car. Showroom condition. Had the cover/key fob and kit. Broought home right before a snowstorm on 12/31. Your video helps with the hibernation...The engine is a visual and aural work of art. The radio? Not so much. Replaced with a Dynavin Bluetooth/Car Play 9" screen that retains the OEM buttons and steering wheel controls. Replaced all bulbs with LED. Way brighter now interior/trunk and headlights/turn signals. I am not a fan of the "jacked" stance. I ordered Ford Performance Springs to even the stance. These springs, in my opinion, should also have been a no cost option on Boss. I bought a 12 Porsche GTS that is also a white with black polished aluminum trim on outside. Both are six speed and 400+ HP. Boss is more functional as a daily go getter. The appreciation on P-Cars since I purchased makes daily driving not practical. Both are two-year limited edition cars that, I believe, will appreciate while enjoyed. Sound at 6000+RPM in both is magic. The analogish nature of both 12's is a really good balance. I like "junk in the trunk" vs. "junk in the frunk"...LOL. Subscribed.

    Your video notes you owned a Boss 302 for 8 years. What’s your advice in looking at buying one? I’m thinking of talking to a local Ford dealer that has a 2012 Boss 302 with 56k miles. Has Torsen diff, Recaro seats, lived in Alberta SK first 4 years then Washington state since 2016. Clutch replacement at 36k miles. I guess my fears are that it would be a car that’s probably not suited to just drive it, and if did daily drive it from looking on the forums I can expect a clutch assembly incl flywheel and a possible/probable transmission failure of the 2nd 3rd gears. The other car I’m looking at is a 2022 mustang that gets lots of sneering but really does hold its own versus others Mustangs in the twisting mountain roads near where I live.

    • @TonysFordsandMustangs
      @TonysFordsandMustangs  9 місяців тому +1

      A Boss 302 is one of the best S197's ever made that said the S550 is a better handling more relaxed platform. The Boss is more raw experience, and handling at the edge require throttle input to scoot it around corners. That can be fun at times and and a bit unsettling at other times (bumps in the surface). Also you will have to pay a premium to buy one because of the limited number produced. The weak point is the clutch and the transmission. I only had issues over 7,000 RPM and only occasionally. If you are are going to daily a car I would recommend the 2022. It's easier to live with on a daily basis and you most likely have some warranty remaining on the car if there are any issues undisclosed. Best of luck.

      Thanks for watching & I plan to do a separate video on a Laguna Seca when I can track one down. The biggest noticeable difference is a special color schemes (I am no a fan of either in 2012) the missing rear seat and added X Brace (to further stiffen the car), and the revised suspension tuning with unique spring and damper rates, and a larger rear stabilizer bar. Much lower production numbers for both years. Right around 700 per year.

      They do fine when boosted. You can easily make 700+ on 93 with proper supporting mods like headers exhaust etc. I would look into an ess blower if they make those for the boss as they are lighter in weight and make power just as well if not better than any of the other centrifugal style blowers yet cost less.

    • @TonysFordsandMustangs
      @TonysFordsandMustangs  11 місяців тому

      As you know no engine can handle ANY boost but the Boss motor is stronger than most and great candidate to boost. There are several Boss cars running dual turbos and superchargers. That said they are really holding their value currently in stock form (LS's even more so) and are quite a bit more to purchase used than a GT. Depending on how much boost you are looking at adding you may want to run the numbers on buying a GT roller and picking up a used Boss engine. That could save you $10K+. Best of luck.
