Magnetic tray comes in handy when working on rig in dirt and mud.
I like having of those plumber's grabber things around. Good for grabbing stuff and fishing it through plus it doesn't stick to everything like a normal extendable magnet.
Keep the jumper cables in your bag. When you need to crank those jump box's won't last.
Had a few people suggest that and it makes sense. I tested the jump pack on a 100% dead Dodge Journey and it cranked over like it had a full battery so I know it’s got some output but my luck it would die when I need it
@@FlawedOffroad they are real good for one shot. Just make sure it's only one. I have one also I still trust the cables more. Just old school I guess.
Heavy duty flash light/LED clipped to roll bar…. You can wrap a lot of stuff to the roll bar and don’t forget an extra layer of padding over that.
Not a bad idea, I generally rely on my phone flashlight way too much. If I go this route it will have to be a rechargeable variety. Thanks!
Grab yourself some roll bar bags. Would help save some space for loose stuff.
I wish I would have put it all in the jeep in the video to show how I do it. Most recent Moab trip I even had room for a fridge back there. Alot of it stays at my truck when I trailer it. Plus my 50 cal ammo can center console holds alot!
Shop on the road. Dope.
Debating on a hitch mounted vice to add😅
@@FlawedOffroad That’s actually a great idea. For people like me with limited space … a vice mounted to a hitch creates a whole new workspace. Hmmmm.
Keep your jumper cables in your Jeep. The jumper box is nice but I have had a few time it wouldn’t start a really dead battery. Good video tho!
I might just to have on hand for emergency welding cables with car batteries. Probably leave it at my truck and trailer though. Wheeling destinations are hours of driving from me so I rarely drive the jeep to the trail anymore.
I did not hear you mention having a Jack, a handy man Jack, is that something you carry? Great video! Thank you for the good thoughts,
@@clarksmith2506 I have a high lift but it’s not mounted to my jeep. Sometimes I bring it with on the trailer. Right now it’s actually mounted to my little off-road trailer that I use with a different jeep for camping
Bro unless it's a noco jump box, I would keep your cables. Those cheap jump boxes with the external connect wires will burn up on you. I've seen them burn up on a lawnmower, first try. They are ok for keeping for backup chargers for cameras and phones though.
I carry 2.5gal of water.
2, 5lb extinguishers.
20v DeWalt chainsaw along with my old impacts, 3/8 1/2, 2 5ah batts.
I'll make a vid of my stuff after I get the zj back in the shop. Working on a 6in install on a TJ for a guy right now.
I threw it on my 100% dead dodge journey( like the dome lights wont even come on) and it fired up instantly as if it had a full battery I was kind of shocked. That would be my luck to swap out to a jump pack and have it fail me
@@FlawedOffroad I went through 6 before I got my noco. the box on the wires on the cheaper ones are diodes, sometimes they like to burst into flames on their own during cranking. I had another one swell up and explode trying to start a 3.7 wk. another one swoll up and started a fire in the shop I worked in at the time. I mean, if they are sending them to you to try out,,... abuse it and see what happens. but I definitely would not trust it as my only backup.
@@MegaMarclar so Noco is south china quality and the rest are north china😅😅
@@FlawedOffroad just a much higher quality Chinee product. Definitely Shenzhen lol
My current solution is to keep every tool I own in the Jeep lol. Keeps them out of the apartment and where I’ll need them. You got another one of those sweatshirts in a large?
Makes sense. I made the hoodie myself but plan on launching a site soon with some stuff like that
Aren't you afraid they'll get stolen?
its hard having it all in a two door but i try
yeah I know. in the past ive carried some of it on a bumper mounted cargo rack, left alot at the truck or ditch the backseat. the struggle is real
Tbh i haven't had a problem with weight its more of a space issue for me
Agreed, thats why I dont always bring it all. A lot stays at my camp, or my truck/trailer. I have to drive 4+ hours from home to offroad and I want stuff with me
How much dose your kit including fluid weigh?
No clue but just the tool roll is pretty hefty. Almost everytime I go out I bring different stuff but usually that bulky parts bin stays at truck.
I'm a field Geologist and have been working in the most remote areas of the Mojave and Corado Deserts for 40 years, mostly alone. I have driven a variety of 4x4 vehicles, now a 20-yo 4Runner. I have never been stuck (where I couldn't get out), nor broken down. "Lucky"? Not really. I drive conservatively, am well prepared, scout the way on foot, and keep my vehicles in top condition. For some, rolling over, driving off stream banks, or snapping your driveline while trying to crawl up a waterfall, andgenerally trashing your ride is all part of the "fun". Not me. A 30-mile walk to the nearest road is not my idea of a good time.
I suppose thats the difference between being out there as a hobby and being out there for work
Premier Welder
I have been speaking with them about aqquiring one for video purposes if you know what I mean. We will see. I love stick welding so its right up my alley
You're missing the most important thing poop paper.
theres a roll of poop coupons in the center console
@@FlawedOffroad lol nice been on the trail needed than before
@@TheoneDragon51 yep and in a pinch I’d be lying if I said I never sacrificed a pair of socks to the cause😅
My buddy got on the radio one day to declare we needed to pull over on the way to the trail and crap. Cause on the trail an empty butt is a happy butt😅
Just get a milwaukee box
They don’t fit in the back of a yj lol.
I’ve changed this setup several times since this video, it never stays the same cause I bring different stuff based on where I go and even which Jeep I take
Geez do you have room for people? You probably get performance points for just the weight
People suck anyway why leave room for them😅 I take what fits behind seat and the rest stays at the truck/trailer. You think this is bad wait till I build out my m101 trailer it’s going to be a 4x4 shop on wheels👌
