Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Please visit north Eastern part of India you'll find amazing foods and culture
You said something that was wrong cuase pots were probably were probably one of the first things they made once they seen they needed something to hold water so pots were in excistance back then fire looks so easy for them to make yet try going out in the wilderness you yourself and try u will be there for along time I know I know some of you are great survivalist okay that’s just one situation

I've said it once and I'll say it again. The Hunter gatherer tribes are so generous with guests... Makes me jealous that my life isn't that simple
You can as well go live in the forest just like them where you wouldn't have to pay any bills, but you and i know you wouldn't even wish to live there.
It gets boreding quick
@@CuStywuS It would be nice to have been born into that, but i have too many addictions in this over-stimulating, lazy, consumer bubble-world.
I doubt most people that wish they could live in the wild could survive long. They don't have the luxury of modern ammo and technology to get their food and they eat a lot less food than most of us.
@@CuStywuS I would love to live their life it’s the best life to live for humans
I love how almost all the tribes actually seem so sweet and nice to him, it's good to see that people get along each other not mattering if they're different of have a different life style 💗😊
people are generally nice until there's a fight over resources or something , then evil side shows up

This felt like some tribal amazonian blockbuster. Amazing tribes & places like this exist in todays world & big ups to the BEFR’s team for sharing that with the world 🌎 🤩

I gotta say sonny is soo lucky to be going around the world and tasting different foods, but hes also able to meet different kinds of people. Honestly this is one of the best channel in youtube. I really love the interactions you encounter with hunters. Its amazing.
He’s is lucky but at what cost 😢
@Tastycookbook he could just go to any food trade in the world and it would gather views because of his voice. to do high quality stuff like this is his team`s prerogative
He's a rare breed, not just anyone can go around with the respect, charisma, and bravery he has.
Not luck, hardwork
And balls
Those clay pots have been used for centuries in our cultures for cooking, transporting water, etc. Love your channel. It's always a great watch
This is really the best ever food review show. I can even hear Sir David Attenborough's voice. This is top quality. I absolutely love this channel. I'm happy it grew so fast.
The life that Sonny lives is absolutely incredible! He reminds me of Anthony Bourdain in his own way.
Neve thought of it that way but now I do and your absolutely right.
You are absolutely right,, he does have that Bourdain 'je ne sais qua' quality, I thought I was the only one who saw that.
He was inspired by Bourdain.
He's better than Anthony Bourdain. Sonny is the GOAT of food/cultural reviews.
Exactly, Bourdain's brother from another mother. His way of talking echos Bourdain, we still miss him, but Sonny carry the torch well and we are hungry for more 🌯🍚🍤🍢🫕🥚🍖🥓🍔🧀
I really like how Sonny blends in with all the places that he visits. I commend him for eating stuff that I would never, ever try!
Why not?

I would never try to eat a freaking peacock besides it's a criminal offence to kill one in India.

I am from Kerala we also used to have these tribes. We called them Vedar. Vedar literally means hunters. Their main living style is hunting. Now hunting is illegal in India and all of them changed to modern lifestyle. Only one minute into the video and I’m already amazed 💗. When he was eating the beetle Nut and he described the effects being paranoid and feels like he’s late for a job interview 😅 that pretty much describes stimulants
I think the reason why the indigenous tribes/people are so nice to him, it’s because of his good and positive energy. Good energy attracts good energy.
Fascinating, one of your best releases yet! I love the lesser-trekked trails/the unknowns..these are the best videos. We all know how the Paris or New York food and culture scene is, but not many know of indigenous Sri Lankan tribes!
Its so epic how they respect the animals while they sleep play or have children props to them
Sri Lanka is nothing short of magnificent. The country has no shortage of beautiful awe-inspiring spots, natural, historic and cultural, each more picture-perfect than the next . Pearl of the Indian Ocean is given to this small island nation probably due to its incredible natural beauty, extraordinary biodiversity as well as its precious gemstones.

You're indeed right
Damn. I'm from Sri Lanka and I've never seen this kind of thing before. Well done!
LOL, I worked in Myanmar in the 1990s and our Burmese crew wanted to help us celebrate Christmas. They asked us what we eat for holiday meals. We told them we usually ate turkey. They didn't know what a turkey was but they did cook us a couple peacocks.
Hahahahahahhaahahahhaha
How was the taste?

One of the best content ever... A recipe directly from the tribes of the Sri Lankan Jungle...

Trillion times I appreciate and admire your work sonny.... It's been a 4/5 years following you
As a Sri Lankan, I must say that this documentary is truly remarkable.❤❤
That is how indigenous communities of any nation must be preserved and be left alone to live their livelihoods. They are the real caretakers of nature. ❤️
Amazing coverage Sonny. This has immense anthropological significance - this is a window into paleolithic life in South Asia and the Veddah are among the most primordial inhabitants of South Asia! Your show is such a great tapestry of culinary entertainment and ethnology.
The pain of existence is too much...golden line! ❤👌

This series brought me so much joy. I went to Sri Lanka for a month in the summer of 2018, volunteering for that duration as well as traveling and exploring. The culture, the food and just everything about Sri Lanka while I was there has been one of the most unforgettable and amazing experiences I've ever had. We need more videos from Sri Lanka. The grilled meat fermented in honey for a month, is absolutely delicious. You need to try it. Older, the better.
Fermented in honey how can you explain?
Does commercially produced honey will work?
@@its-K69 Most commercially made honey is just feeding the bees with cane sugar. It's different from honey made out of nectar. Cane sugar is not nectar. But it will ferment, but the meat will be s!hitty in taste. You need wild honey. Or else you need to find a commercial bee hives with alot of flowers around. Nectar has a scent in it, where the cane sugar does not.
