Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

    Lol Avril is a Coloured.
A mix of Asian, European and some local African.
A good chunk from the population brought in by the VOC, as well as mostly those many thousands of freed slaves dumped in the Cape by the British Navy in the 19th century.
There is no such historical organic culture/tribe called Khoisan.
Khoe-san is 1) either a clumsy historic way-of-life abstraction i.e. pastoralism (Khwe) or hunter-gatherering/ foraging. (san)
    OR
    2) An abstraction in the academic fields of linguistic regarding pattern language classification found in the desert of the Kalahari of Namibia/Botswana or the Northern Cape ( largely moribund like Latin in North Cape).
Large sections of extant cultures like the Xhosa, Tswana/Sotho & Coloured populations share ancestry, but this weird habit over the last few years of substituting the abstract term khoisan because some mixed people of colour don't have a native culture, but are culturally colonial servant class culture-based & Afrikaans (Dutch)-speaking, is just daft.
No culture in history defines themselves as an abstraction created by European colonists if they were actually an organic historical culture.
Incidentally it is the evolved modern living culture in the former colonial native reserve of the Cape, I.e. XHOSA, that maintain millennia-old *organic* Khwe cultural practices like "Ingqithi".

Sonny, LOVE your videos. My kids and I watch frequently and, as a result, my children are trying all sorts of new things such as century eggs, etc. That said, there is something I've noticed in your videos from time to time. There is a difference in loin and tenderloin. Backstrap is the loin and runs alongside the spine on the dorsal side of the body. Tenderloins are smaller and run along the inverse side of the ribs, inside the rib cage. T-Bones, pork chops, lamb chops, etc. are loin and filet mignon is tenderloin. Small detail but it means a huge difference in tenderness, price, location and quality of meat cuts.

    Thanks, Sonny.
What a video this was! I can only imagine how much you needed to pay to put that feast up. Starting from the cost of the buffalo, the cost of bringing in a professional cook, and other miscellaneous costs of feeding the whole village in such an epic video. Your show has transcended from being a food show to being a depth exposure and understanding of other ways of life and cultures.... Thanks and God's continued blessing.

I love your show so much, I never miss an episode. But, at the same time it kills me. Why? You're doing something I have only been able to dream of for years and years. Not the hunting part, but traveling around the world, meeting other cultures and enjoying the different foods they eat and even getting to be a part of the process. I am trying my best, to live my dream through you haha. Thanks for these videos. No way I could afford to do it, but your videos give me the chance to at least see and hear it.

@@svenngunnarrustgard1228 Indeed. And even if it was - everything dies eventually. Many times hunters are targeting the older and larger animals that are towards the end of their lifespan anyways (either that or cull hunting to remove unhealthy individuals from the population). Taking an animal at this time and using it for food is much less wasteful than letting it die of natural causes and rot on the plains for carrion to devour.

Khoe-san is 1) either a clumsy historic way-of-life description i.e. pastoralism (Khwe) or hunter-gatherering/ foraging. (san)
    OR
    2) An abstraction in the academic fields of linguistic regarding pattern language classification found in the desert of the Kalahari of Namibia/Botswana or the Northern Cape ( largely moribund like Latin in North Cape).

I absolutely love this show because it looks at the culture and the people of every place they go or as many shows simply become just a vacation of gluttony onto how much food you can stuff down your gullet. Please continue making these awesome videos for as long as you can . I know it takes a lot of time and effort and many people to produce this but it is excellent quality production. I notice I haven't seen the guy that responded to my last post on your last video who was saying that your hunter friends in the last one when you shot the zebra but those guys just go out and shoot all kinds of endangered animals irregardless as if the monies that are taken in don't actually help in conservation efforts. He says he's personally involved in that kind of thing but he didn't make it clear whether it was conservation or he was on the other side

@@happypaws2010 first of all Javier it's not poaching. Second of all that is a private reserve it is fenced in and those animals are for the most part protected. And on many conservation lands in Africa are so big they literally can't protect the animals and they hire soldiers to patrol to keep out the real poachers. You're the second idiot to come on here and try and play that oh the poor animals bit. People have been eating animals for hundreds of thousands of years or longer and you're gonna cry about it. Please please cry us a river then we can have something to drink

@@happypaws2010 perhaps if you learn how to read they're Mr happy paws. They pay for the privilege to do that. And in case you didn't know people all over the world have been hunting animals for food for literally 10s of thousands of years. They don't all have a Taco truck outside on the street to go to Javier. The money goes conservation efforts many places like this are fenced in and are managed and yes some of them get hunted and in case you didn't watch the whole thing the meat went to an entire village. What kind of a hole who comes from a more privileged place than these people thinks that it's OK to tell them what they can or can't eat or what they can do in their own country.?
