You have just created the standard for learning how to mix vocals on UA-cam. You may not have even realized but this video is gonna blow up and people for years will be citing this one. Mark my words
Dude. Your vocal chaining is insane. Sounds incredible. After using FL studio for a year, the transition into Abelton is extremely exciting for me and this video is incredibly helpful. Good shit son 🔥🔥🔥
this puppet is about to change the way i look at audio forever. I create voiceover demos for people and I've been using doubling to cut through a lot of the backing tracks. The simple HP/LP trick you use on the EQ for doubling is definitely going into this next demo. I just tried it out on a previous demo and it sounds fantastic. It's true what they say. You never know how much you don't know. You've have clean producing down to a science.
you're incredible man. i've used logic for years, but i think I'm about to switch to ableton mostly off the potency of this video alone. i appreciate you man for real, you're reallllly helping people who need it.
I can not watch any other tutorial video on mixing vocals, drums, or instruments. You are the only channel that I can rely on for me to learn something that gives me results in my music!!
Does anybody think about how much work it’s gotta be to make a puppet look like he’s talking AND producing at this level!? I almost want to see a behind the scenes video but it might kill the magic. Such good content, man - I’ve been at this a long time and still learning so much from these.
Wizardry like I have never heard. Thank you very much for posting this. One of the best vocal vids I have ever seen. Learned more in 26 mins than in 4 years.
I totally agree with Claybo! 2 years after his comment and here I am stunned by how my vocals have turned out after the Vocal rack mix!! Great going Stefan!
Reid you are simply the best around. You being on Ableton solidifies my decision... you are my master I am your pupil. I refuse any other master unless it's tips from Karra. Thank you.
I can't say enough how amazing this one is and how grateful I am that there wan't a pitch for a coaching session to get the real info. The fact that only 8k out of the 237k views have liked it is mind boggling. THANKS AGAIN!!
HOLY SMOKES! Been a big fan since I found you in Feb, but this one just blew my mind. Thank you so much for cracking my brain open and pouring so much sauce in.
The new GOLDEN template to Mix Vocals! -- You've literally turned me into a BELIEVER! It was both informative yet easy to understand...which after watching a TON of these, is tough to do. Kudos to YOU for not making it super-audio-engineer 'techy'. EVERYTHING made sense! *subscribed*
As soon as I upgrade my potato of a computer, I’m honestly gonna be the best producer in the world thanks to this legend of a puppet 👍🏼 You my friend are slept on too much keep up the great work 🙌🏼
So many moves in less than 30 minutes, I love that you take a second to quickly note why each move is made. I have been recording at home and learning mixing online for a few years now. Nothing compares to the content you provide. This video in particular is packed with insight and great advice. Thank you so much for sharing this!
Really appreciate how much you love music production, and how good you are at teaching and sharing all these skills. Great respect! You ARE the realest!
"I don't know about you, but that sounds like the sauce to me!" (as puppet looks dead at the camera!)😭⚰💀🤣 Some of the BEST content on YT, hands down...especially since I'm an Abe head! ✍🏾📝🏆 Hymn
26 moments that left me with a before and after moment . I thought I had some neat tricks with my bus sends but in terms of working in ableton a mighty fine discourse on the production of vocals...well worth and more my time today
This is extremely comprehensive and elaborate! The best mixing tutorial Ive seen on UA-cam, thanks Reid! Ive ignored your videos for too long on my feed lol
great video, i learned a lot.. question, where does EQing vocals adding gates and stuff come in? should that be done on the dry chain? do you have or could you make a video on a vocal chain using either free plug ins, or ableton plug ins? (eq and all that good stuff)
I love this and am learning a lot. Why did you choose to go with EQ after compression? I’ve thought EQ would be adjusted before adding compression. Ty🎉
Can you do a tutorial on the arrangement of a drop? They are really tough to get right and it'd be great to see how a professional puts together the elements.
This work and your videos in general are amazing! A quick question I have is with regards to the parellel compression you perform at first in the chain. If you always allow the dry vocal to be present and simply mix in a varying degree of (and volume) of compressed vocals, then how do you achieve overall vocal uniformity in terms of leveling? Wouldn't the dry signal have the original, untreated peaks that would either stick out or you'd have to seriously reduce its volume to avoid trigerring the final compressor/limiter? How would this chain achive maximum vocal loudness?

Reid Stefan when will that come out?
I was just gonna request one of these with 3rd party plugins!
Would love to use Softube, Slate chains. And Tape too. :)
Btw you did not use any surgical/enhancing eq on dry vocals ? Was it already eq'd ?

Vocal mixing with waves will be greatly appreciated mr stephan

Cla vocals is a must have if you're willing to get some third party plugins

Clean and easy tutorial. Can you do a series for mixing a reggaeton track using ableton?
Wtf wizard this is like the perfect mix of sauce they don’t teach you such fine and detailed chains like that in audio school
You have my favourite tutorials
great video, i learned a lot.. question, where does EQing vocals adding gates and stuff come in? should that be done on the dry chain?

You must have found a Backdoor, cheatcode or something. If not this is the holy grail itself.... awesome genius at music- AND puppetmastering 👍🏻
men the ping pong delay with de flanger sounds dopeeee broo
