you probably dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot the account password. I love any assistance you can offer me
game changer! i'm gonna be honest Reid, i have learned so much from you & i never miss out on any of your videos. Been following your tuts since the very beginning and will keep doing so. one of the best in the game, hands down!
Bro you the best! Period. I just downloaded drip software couldn’t find it in ableton. I was ready to give up on my entire career but I found this video about the settings. Can’t explain how grateful I am. 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Wow I've been producing in ableton for 3 years and you managed to find almost 12 things I didn't know. The multiple plugin window is going to be really useful. I got a second monitor but couldn't figure out how to keep a spectrum analyzer from my master channel up on it
First off, it's "asd", ADG is a drum rack or instrument files. Second, those asd files serve a purpose like speed up sample loading time (and I assume lower hard drive load)
Didn't know that about the delay. Good look! With the custom key commands you can set all your regular ones and save that as default session so it loads up every new session with your key commands. Also one of my favorite key commands is creating a marker and applying a key to that so you can always set a restart point in the area you're working on. The cmd+space bar restart is annoyingl because it will restart on anything that you have selected.
creating gaps/drops in specific areas - copy whatever empty of bars you want - highlight the section you want to make a gap in - right click above the arrangement numbers, to click on "Paste Time" saves time to make time :)
Hey Reid just wanted to say thank you for being so awesome! Really all of your videos are so helpful and I learn a lot from them plus they are easy to follow along with and understand, again thank you! you rock man!
Group an instrument, duplicate and add an effect (verb/delay) at 100% on the duplicate. This gives you a wet and dry version. Add the wet amount to taste. Voila = basically a return track right on the channel strip. You can even sidechain the wet signal to the dry signal if needed. Learned that from KSHMR and used it religiously ever since.
You should rather group the effect and create a chain in the FX group with no fx on it. It's the same result, but you don't need to duplicate the instrument, which saves CPU.
Nice video. But I would tell you a tip for personal shortcuts: you say that every time you have a new session you hit command K and set "r" as Record. You can open a new file, do that and then save it as your default template. Then there's no need to do it again: each new file will have already the "r" designated.
@@ReidStefanMusic Dang, was hoping to find that on every Ableton plugin with a mix knob. Guess I'll have to stick to the method you teached us using racks.
Do 1, 2, and 11. Then go to Preferences-> File/Folder -> "Save Current Set as Default" -> Save. Now you've got a clean-looking default set with your favorite keyboard shortcuts!
Hello. I set up a "home recording studio" in the living room. I use Ableton 10 Live Lite and the external audio interface Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6. I would be very grateful for your advice. . . I managed to record some audio tracks through the styles in my Yamaha psr-s970 keyboard and vocals. Somehow I adjusted it so that it had dynamism and the recording didn't sound very amateurish. Unfortunately, after many attempts to export the entire project to a certain format, the volume is always significantly reduced, the effects and dynamics also fall down. . . I can't handle it. When I run the project in Ableton, it plays well. I hope you understand my English. Greetings from Czech Republic (Czechia) Thumbs up for your videos.
That’s great option for people who don’t have a MacBook Pro. they removed the f keys for a touchbar and required you to hold function key to see F keys.
Instead of doing a 'key command' set up for recording every time you open a new session, you could 'Save Current Set as Default' in preferences, and then it will always be there. I also have learned that automating the arrows to skip between markers really speeds up my mixing work flow.
on Master track I use Unility for on/off Mono by pressing "m" button on keyboard and Pink noise plugin on/off with button " ' " for balancing volumes. only thing that I hate in Ableton that it is very easy overwrite tracks when Rec is on.
Hey, there's no need to do that at 5:08. You say you do it every time you open an Ableton session; just add that keyboard shortcut and save that set as the template file. Now any time you open Ableton it already has that custom keyboard mapping. But you know this already, you're the realest puppet in the game!
if you create a new project, and do your key command trick, then save that project as your default template, you no longer have to command k everytime you want to record
@@ReidStefanMusic Guys guys! There is yet another way to add even more shortcuts if you don't want to go about creating new templates. I use a Mac so I only know one way to do this. Take this route: System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts > Hit the '+' button > Select Ableton Live from the top drop-down menu labeled 'Application:' > From here you have to enter the exact name of the pathway for the action you want to take. For example, I made a lil shortcut for freezing my tracks since Ableton doesn't have one by default. In the 'Menu Title:' box I then put "Edit->Freeze Track" It's important to put that little arrow in between each step like that. "->" After that, in the second box labeled 'Keyboard Shortcut:' I chose my shortcut to be '⇧⌘1' This method is real nice because it bakes in the shortcut to whatever you wanna do on Ableton without worrying about using an updated template. I hope this helps at least one homie! :)
If you make your Custom Shortcuts in an empty projekt you can save the projekt as the default template and it will save the shortcuts... But great video
Best Ableton teacher 💯
Gotta say I do really like the Whole Loops commercials.
This
Came to comment the same. 😂❤
Whole loops > Partial loops
I was today years old when I found out about equal loudness. Thank you
fancy seeing you here
So important to know... damn...
you probably dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I was dumb forgot the account password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Chris Houston Instablaster ;)
Equal Loudness was such a hidden gem. It actually really sounds good.
0:35 hide overview
0:40 hide / show controls
1:01 track groups
1:26 instrument racks
2:16 import old tracks
3:17 multiple plugin windows
3:40 enable vst plugins
4:11 disable analysis files (annoying .asd files)
4:33 echo plugin (equal loudness)
4:58 custom keyboard shortcuts
5:24 fade multiple clips
Theese vidoes are still perfect reminders 4 years later in Ableton 12
game changer! i'm gonna be honest Reid, i have learned so much from you & i never miss out on any of your videos. Been following your tuts since the very beginning and will keep doing so. one of the best in the game, hands down!
SOOOO MANY YEARS WITH ABLETON AND I DID NOT KNOW YOU CAN GROUP SAMPLES!!!! Great video!!!
I like how the whole loops ad lady has grown much confident and camera ready compared to the old ones. Puts a smile on my face
She’s beautiful too
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THE LONGEST TIME TO ADD FADES TO MULTIPLE AUDIO TRACKS, THANK YOU!!!!
me too!
How the fuck did I not know this!
I just watched a video with a puppet showing me music production software tips. Oh what a wonderful world we live in!

I absolutely love how fast paced these are
Man this is super helpful, the ctrl+alt+o shortcut i never knew, and i always wanted to turn off that overview.
You got me on strings with this tutorial! Thank you, Reid!! I promise I’ll never take my soft toys for granted!!
THE ANALYSIS FILES HAVE BEEN USING ALL OF MY STORAGE FOREVER. THANK YOU.
Thank Ried! Just added Ableton to my production quiver and feeling lucky I found your channel right at my start.
I've always hated those adg files on my computer, I had no idea you could turn that off! Thank you bro 🔥🖤
SAME!!! And I have been producing for many years. Just shows you are always learning!
First off, it's "asd", ADG is a drum rack or instrument files. Second, those asd files serve a purpose like speed up sample loading time (and I assume lower hard drive load)
@@VeganCossack they also store all your automation for the tracks.
not good to turn off, you should use powershell to hide the filles :P
damn that instrument rack layering is a major gem!!
Omg that multiple plugin windows setting is so basic but so useful!
Bro!! Thank you so much for all you give to the LIVE community! I respect and have learned so much from you! Your a true GOAT.
cmd+shift+X/V/D are the biggest vibe to me when building song structures.. was one of the latest discoveries
Im a puppeteering student that judt got into music. I love this channel already
3 new upgrades, thanks for this Reid!

shif+tab (win) to switch from clip view to instrument view (and viceversa). Very useful shortcut.
You did it again man. lemme put these to practise
Great tips, thank you! Didn’t know about the auto recolor all tracks in a group trick, that’s awesome thank you!
Love u Reid, you really are the realest puppet in the game.
thx reid, just pure info no countdowns or any garbage, iam using more instrument racks for sure, thx man for being the realest :D
Instrument Racks! Very cool thing. Great advice as always.
creating gaps/drops in specific areas
- copy whatever empty of bars you want
- highlight the section you want to make a gap in
- right click above the arrangement numbers, to click on "Paste Time"
saves time to make time :)
Christ I could have done with knowing the equal loudness option a while back haha! Love it! Cheers Reid, love your vids :)
I’ve been using ableton for over 2 years now and I’m just finding out about the multiple plugin windows!!! That’s crazy, thanks for doin the vid
haven't been this excited by an ad for a while
Wow!!... 1:18 to 3:12.. Completely mind-blowing!!

This is the dopest puppet in the game no doubt
If you right click on the stereo balance button. "C" then you can change it to a stereo panorama mod. Helps in arranging instruments in a stereo field

Yea!!! My favorite tip was the equal loudness on ECHO
Equal Loudness should be an option on every mix knob 🔥
@@ReidStefanMusic Dang, was hoping to find that on every Ableton plugin with a mix knob. Guess I'll have to stick to the method you teached us using racks.
Reid Stefan Seriously, thanks for the heads up! Next update hopefully🤞
straight faya tip this is!🔥🔥🔥
and yes, should be on every mix knob!
very helpful for a beginner like me . Thanks Reid
damn been using ableton for 5 years and still learnt something!!! Thank you these are beast!
Amazing, love your videos and sample packs! btw F9 is the default "Record" shortcut buttom.
i freaking love this puppet
Awesome and helpful video Reid!! Thank you bud
I don't care who you are, the ability to drag and drop pieces of older tracks is the best part of this video period.
You are the best Bro keep it up
👍👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very timely since I recently switched over from FL. Ableton is so much better.
Awesome video!!! Thank you!!
Amazing tips dude! Really helped alot
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that "ad"? Im laughing so hard I love it hahaha
Do 1, 2, and 11. Then go to Preferences-> File/Folder -> "Save Current Set as Default" -> Save. Now you've got a clean-looking default set with your favorite keyboard shortcuts!
I was gonna say is there a way to save the record short cut
4 is straight gold. Never thought of that.
Thanks for sharing
I love this dude!!
2:35 that sample is the licc lol
equal loudness and stack fade in/out - thanks dude
well well well. you are the realest puppet in the game :)

On a PC, there is a shortcut to record in Ableton. Just hit F-9. And a bonus tip to mute tracks, hit the F1-8 keys (only 8 tracks).
That’s great option for people who don’t have a MacBook Pro. they removed the f keys for a touchbar and required you to hold function key to see F keys.
@@ReidStefanMusic I made a mistake it's the F1-8 keys to mute tracks 😐
Thanks alot this will really speed up your workflow if u follow this tutorial

R is shortcut for reversing the audio clip!
Caps lock has to be on for r to reverse for me
@@ReidStefanMusic Strange never used caps for Reversing a sample though!
I lmao every time there is those commercials
Thank you! Would be nice to have Windows shortcuts written as well.
I mean, they work the same way and I understand which ones to use. But it would be simpler for the ones who didn't use both systems before
on Master track I use Unility for on/off Mono by pressing "m" button on keyboard

👍🏾 didn’t know that about the echo equal gain function
Thx Lil Puppet!!!💯
Floppy trash cracked my ass up, great vid
Naw that whole loops ad killed me 😂
I’ve been using ableton forever and I still use the info window as a healthy reminder as to why I picked that one lol.
ok this was super useful thankyou
thanks bro ...very usefull
Thank you for these tips. What about Vst 3 plugins, do we really need them on? I have everything on Vst 2.
if you create a new project, and do your key command trick, then save that project as your default template, you no longer have to command k everytime you want to record
Thanks for the gems as always bro♥
What is that jelly fish hologram thing? That looks really cool. Where can I get one?
ua-cam.com/video/5XOdHwLxBNE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Vat19
Lol never even thought of getting rid of that global overview at the top b4, it does clean up the session
Thx for the tips! 👍💯
nice man, you're the best!!
I like to hold shift and click on the record button on the transport bar
Why don’t u save the recording shortcut in a new session and save it as the default template? So u don’t have to redo it all the time

Hold shift while you stretch the audio clip. This only works when warp mode enabled on your audio

Is "equal loudness" the same as just putting the effect on a return track at 100% wet and sending audio to it?
Brilliant!

hey!! i just bought your everything pack on whole loops and half time. what other basics am i missing
