Hi Andrew! Thanks for another great video review! I pre-orderd the 5cd super deluxe from Amazon U.S. in September and the ship date was revised to mid November '22nd. I really hope that is not the case. All the best from Cleveland and Akron Ohio!
Hey, thanks for all the links! Now I now I won’t miss out! And I know what I want for Christmas already! The 5 CD Boxset! I can hardly wait! Do you know about the signed Book Klause Voorman is selling from his Website? His Books are all Signed by him! So I thought I’d tell you about it if you’re interested! No music, just the Artwork. Which he did! Thanks! 😊🎃
Great video all around. One note, Paul’s bass on Rain was overdubbed later on at the slower pace. Guitars and drums were recorded at the faster speed. Jeff Emerick’s book talks about it. They recorded Paul’s bass later on and with one speaker going into another, or PA, speaker. So, on the new Gyles’ original speed version includes Paul’s overdub, which now sounds faster.
You definitely need a " dirtier" version of She Said , She Said... than clean. Not muddled per say, but there is a reason the song sounds the way it does. Also Ringos Drums are spectacular on the song and hopefully not too much has been changed
You’re the man, Andrew! I absolutely love the super deluxe Beatles collections but this one is my favorite. The mono mixes are so good. I love how they hang on the end of certain tracks for a few extra seconds than the originals. I hope we get a Rubber Soul box set soon!
Thank you Andrew, for buying this unboxing, we already hope to obtain it and enjoy its content, especially the CDs of recording sessions, a big greeting, take care.
Thanks for an engaging whistle stop tour through the new box set, Andrew. I thoroughly enjoyed your song by song thoughts. I’ve been listening to 2009 stereo and mono CD versions in preparation, and though I wasn’t taking notes as you’ve done for your channel, I did hear many differences, some very subtle, some much less so. Your comments are really helpful as a pointer to what to listen out for next time I listen to a disc. It’s hard to absorb the whole sound picture of one song, let alone the whole set, when hearing this set anew, so it’s good to have your commentary, too. I’ve got a few vinyl versions, and I’m really looking forward to the vinyl box when that lands. FWIW, My go to stereo vinyl is the BC-13 Blue Box version, and my favourite mono vinyl is an early pressing in a rather battered sleeve, but plays superbly. Peace.
Thanks Andrew...enjoyed that. I've always loved Klaus artwork on this. I believe he has a lovely book out about the story of the artwork leading up to the album cover. I've ordered the cd deluxe set from amazon uk. And also the vinyl album from amazon USA as they have an exclusive ( klaus art) revolver slipmat for my turntable.
After two listens I've found more and more things that I haven't heard in the past. Paul's bass lines are insane. The bottom on Dr Robert is great. I'm Only Sleeping is fantastic. I mean, the bass line has so many flourishes. Tomorrow Never Knows is the highlight... Just incredible Your review was pretty accurate. I haven't found anything I've been disappointed with. I will say "Thank you Giles!"
7:00 Wow,, you impressed me going straight into the vocal in the right key and with no cheeky pitch-reminding strum before you started.Very good pitch, sir, maybe even perfect!
Brilliant review, which I am very grateful for, Revolver for be my top Beatles album although I have them all. Looking forward to receiving the 5cd deluxe set hopefully on Friday, postal service not withstanding! Thanks Andrew!!
Great review and I agree with most of it. The 'Land O'Groats' version of Yellow Sub was on the Real Love single rather than Anth II and Paul is indeed on bass on Sh Said. She Said but he left in a huff before the vocals were recorded.
😁 I've got to say, this package is revelatory in many ways. From what I've listened to of the 2022 remixes on both headphone and speakers and I am not sure I can hear it any other way. Giles Martin & Co. did an amazing thing here and hit a homerun right out of the park. This sounds like it could have been recorded this year. I absolutely ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍 LOVE this mix. I enjoyed your summary and pretty much agree with you on most, some disagree, but each has his own ears.
Great review, Andrew. I can't wait for mine to arrive. There may be divided opinions about the new mix but, of course, we've all still got the original.
Many people debate what's 'the' best version of each Beatles album. It makes sense, especially with all the new remixes that came out in the last 5 years. However, I'm mostly grateful to have several options available: I love the 2009 remasters, the recent mono CD/vinyl reissues and adore the songtrack compilation, which is proudly shining at your wall. What a blessing to be able to say: today it's the songtrack or a Giles Martin remix or a 2009 CD, etcetera. At first, I had my problems with the Sgt Peppers 2017 remix, even more so with the 2018 White Album. So, I passed those boxsets. However, being a fan and being curious, I bought the 2019 Abbey Road box set and fell in love with that remix. The same happened with the excellent Let It Be reissue from last year. And yes, it forced me to re-listen the 2017 Sgt Pepper reissue. I finally love it and ordered the box set, years after it being released. What was I missing then? Is it that my ears and mind needed more time to adjust to a rather different version, that I got used to with? I don't know. But what I can say to the people who still find it difficult to embrace the newer remixes: give it time, try it again and be aware of that you can always pick a different version, if you want to. I'm even more so looking forward to the new box set, especially after hearing the 'Got To Get You Into My Life' second take, which is splendid I agree. The short Yellow Submarine demo, is very emotional. A reminder of the fact that the Beatles not only stand for adventure, joy, pleasure, but melancholy/sadness as well. But it is a kind of sadness that can also warm and comfort us. I think many people around the globe can use a lot of Beatles comfort. So, the Revolver 2022 reissue is coming at the right moment, don't you think? Thank you Andrew, for sharing so much information and celebrating this unique time of being a Beatles fan, with us all. Very appreciated. To all the Beatles fans: have a nice Beatles weekend and upcoming weeks ~Marjet
I have every confidence in the remix. All I want to know is, has the CD got compression slathered all over it so it will sound stupidly LOUD. If anyone even knows what I'm talking about, is the sound "brick-walled"? Are the peaks allowed to jump out of the mix, or has the average volume level been raised to the point where there's no head room for the peaks?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Andrew! While I most likely will have to wait until Xmas to get my physical copy from the wife, I look forward to watching again after I've been able to listen to the entire thing myself a few times. Have a great weekend!
Great review. Really mind blowing re Yellow Submarine, from (and I thought so as well) My Mummy's Dead-esque "no one cares, no one cares" to the happy-go-lucky childrens sing-a-long favourite. So glad the Paul on bass on She Said She Said has been sorted once and for all... and just how clean was his grandfather?
I'll get back and listen to the video when I've got my copy. I want to listen to it the first time without knowing nothing. It will be a long week of waiting for the 5 vinyls that that's been ordered.
Excellent review Andrew. And head and shoulders above some of your American peers and competitors in this space. Looking forward to your unboxing video.
"He's got the rock, but he's not quite got the roll yet." GREAT line. Now really wanting to hear this version. So, thank you for this. I'll hold off on the purchase for a while but WILL get it. I've already heard the Yellow Submarine John verse, which I was VERY curious about.
I'm really looking forward to getting this set. I'll be getting the CD set as I have for all the rest except Let It Be which I bought on vinyl because I got an amazing deal on it. Enjoyed your detailed review of the tracks. Revolver is easily a top 5 all time album for me. I have been very pleased with the quality of these box sets so far. The Let it Be EP was a bit of a noggin scratcher considering all the musical gems that were recorded in those sessions. That's my only gripe thus far.
@@jimwood1584 musical archeology isn't for everyone. I enjoy these expanded deluxe boxes, but I have to admit that after the initial novelty, I rarely revisit the demos and rough mixes etc. The books that come with the boxes are really great.
Beautiful mix... Of course, it may contain some mistakes like the bass on for no one Wich I'm not sure if I like that way... And I'm not sure if 'I'm only sleeping' is correct like that, I will give it some tries but not sure about that mix... Over all is a great mix and this will become my go to for revolver almost every listen, but I'm not planning on get rid off of my 2009 stereo and mono mixes... Stereo 2009 specially. Just because for no one and I'm only sleeping.
The 'sound effects' version of Yellow Submarine on here was previously released on the Real Love cd single not on Anthology 2. Apart from that a spot on review...as always!
The new 40 second Yellow Submarine demo with John singing popped up on Apple Music today (the full album comes out on like the 24th) and it’s just so good, I cannot afford the physical set but maybe I’ll justify it to myself lol
Megasting. There was an interview with John and Paul at the Ivor Novello Awards in early 1967 where they say it was two separate songs combined . John's verse melody and Paul's chorus. I think this confirms this.
When you posted this video, Andrew, I considered waiting until my box set arrived before watching your video. But then I thought, "What the heck!" and watched it now. I'm glad again. 45 minutes well spent. Thank you for the analysis. It gives me things to listen for when my set does arrive. I can't wait.
I’ve finally heard the whole thing so enjoying this now. I really enjoyed it but still have a soft spot for original stereo and personally I feel like for EQ on the new stereo I think they used the mono for reference
Thorughly enjoyed listening to the new mixes and concur that She Said She Said has lost a bit of edge, also miss John's quip in Good Day Sunshine. All in all another great job by Giles and his team. Now, let's hope for a Rubber Soul Remix.
Nice review! A shame no sessions for Good Day Sunshine, but other than that, sounds like a great box set! Also wish they included a Blu-ray audio disc like the other sets, but that's a minor quibble. Rain was also in stereo on Past Masters in 1988.
One of my all time favourites, I'd go so far as to say it's one of the very few "perfect" albums I've ever heard, there's nothing you can do to improve it!
@@AndrewDixonMusic I fell off my chair when I heard you say this in an old video of yours I was watching. Me and my mates have said the same for years, tho OK Computer might be considered better, The Bends is simply perfect. Somehow, we make sense of this theory (whilst in a pub surrounded by booze).
Great review as always! „You can hear Abbey Road, you can hear the studio“ is my goosebumps quote in your review! Just wanna hear it, too! Can‘t wait😅👍🏻
Hi Andrew. Great review. I have a question about the streaming versions and I wonder if anybody else has noticed this. There are a few tracks where this is noticeable, but in particular She Said, She Said. if compare the Apple Music version against either Tidal or Qobuz there seems to be a big difference in the left/right channel mixing. Qobuz and Tidal both seem similar, although with some EQ differences, but the Apple Music version is more central in terms of the soundstage, but Tidal and Qobuz both emphasise the left channel guitar which plays a single repeated note. It stands out way more that the Apple music version. I'm just wondering if this is how the CD and Vinyl versions sound as well. Do they sound the more like Apple Music or Tidal/Qobuz?
I don’t know if you noticed that “I’m only sleeping” apparently was also a song they recorded faster and then it was slowed down. You can hear it on the mono mix 1 countdown at the start
Love what you do! *** I was hoping to find out -> Where are the "Digital Hi-Rez Audio Collection w/Atmos come in"? Where do I find them or how do you get them? Gezzz so confusing...
Thanks again, Andrew! I’ve left you a nice comment before. I’m from Louisville, Kentucky, USA, and am a huge fan of “The Boys”! Also, I want to let you know that I think you’re the Best, regarding your knowledge, presentation, etc. Keep up the fabulous work! I like getting my info from you. Thank you so very much! You have a friend (another one, me), in the U.S. Please take care, and I’ll stay tuned. All the Best. Cheers, Jeffrey
Is the new mix based on the mono version? Just like the remix of Sgt. Pepper was? For example, is the extra backward guitar present on I'm Only Sleeping? Or does Love You Too have the longer fade-out of the mono mix? You mentioned Yellow Submarine is true to the original mono mix with the intro guitar. Is this the case with all the tracks?
Just listened to mine, it's ok seems an understatement 😂 Highlights for me on the main album are And Your Bird, Tomorrow & Eleanor Rigby. Lows, She said & I'm Only Sleeping, something sounds off & I can't put my finger on it. Also Ringo's drums on Got To Get You sound shallow, the bass has been worked on drums ignored so it all sounds worse to me. Nice to have the stereo/clean versions of Paperback Writer/Rain but I know what I prefer. At the end of it all I put the Mono disc in was blown away & concluded that's still the way to go, you still can't beat it 👍
Just had notification from Amazon that they cannot make today’s delivery (1st Nov) but hope to get it out for Saturday the 5th, but no guarantee. HMV have sold out of the deluxe set and are awaiting further supplies with no date. What’s going on? It sold around 13.5k copies by yesterday, but surely that should not affect supplies should it?
Thank you, insightful and candid as always. Meanwhile, a clavichord is different from a harpsichord in that the strings are hammered iso plucked. Compared to a piano, the acoustic body is small, hence the modest sound. Can’t wait to hear the new Revolver, though it is so expensive!
Great video! I wonder how this will sound with my BOSE plug-in headphones on Apple Lossless Music? As you may know, bluetooth does not support lossless technology, so I have to use the headphones with a wire. I don't own a turntable so I have to listen to it digitally. I could play it thru my Home Theater, but without a 5.1 disc, that doesn't have much appeal. I feel headphones are probably the way to go. And as far a Rubber Soul goes, George H. once said he felt that Revolver and Rubber Soul were just parts 1 and parts 2 of the same double album.
Andrew, another stellar job, Mate, my only comment is, yes, Paul played bass on the studio run-throughs of 'He Said, She Said', but as far as the recorded version, the Boy's rented a Burn's Bisen Bass for George which is well documented by photos and receipts, in fact, they have the serial # of the very sought after instrument, but, you know, I could be wrong of course, thank you again, Andrew 👏👏🙏
Hi, I think what you've suggested has always been the assumption until now, but it seems the research for this box set shows that it is definitely Paul on bass, at least that's what it's suggesting.
Ordered the CD set from Amazon over a month ago and it still hasn’t been dispatched - notification advises delivery on Wednesday which is unusual for them as they normally dispatch day of release. Looking at their site now and they are saying new orders have a delivery of 1 to 3 weeks. Bizarre.
Hi Andrew, love your analysis and reports. Thank you very much. Comment regarding your summary about best albums Beatles and solo: To me is Abby Road the best Beatles' album and more considering that the Beatles were at their very end. To me is Ram not the best McCartney album, but that of course is a question of taste. Keep up the good work. Best regards, Fred Nijsten The Netherlands
Great review. Doesn't change my mind to buy the release since I seem to have a good portion of the songs and mixes among the other cds you used to compare the new versions.
Appreciate the enormous effort you’ve gone to in summing up this forthcoming Revolver box set through the digital medium sonically speaking. Firstly I’m a Beatles fan through and through though I came to appreciate them more long after they had disbanded. Secondly when I first heard about the vinyl box set and it’s contents I felt cheated and a bit suspicious especially the decision to include the Mono version. Why? Well I actually own a later pressing of Revolver and the version from the Mono box set so (a) I couldn’t imagine any kind of an improvement on the Mono version and (b) I wasn’t too enamoured with a yellow submarine shaped bot exploring the depths of the Stereo mix! If it sounds good then who cares but still….. Finally isn’t it ALWAYS the sessions that sell anniversary box sets? In my case I’d be forking out 220 smackers just for this double Lp Session Outtakes. This time I most definitely won’t be thanks to your review Andrew. Then again maybe the vinyl set review might just change my mind? This time I don’t think so…. I’ve just listened to my dog eared copy of Revolver and it sounds bloody great. As does the Mono. I’m happy out 😎
Greatly looking forward to this one, since Revolver is my all-time favorite album, and your review has me even more hyped about it. The whole demixing thing has got me wondering though. Once the tracks have been split out by the super-amazing demixing technology, are we still hearing tracks played and sung by the Beatles... or a just super-high-fidelity recreation of what a computer thinks those individual tracks would sound like? (And yes, I know how silly I sound worrying about that.)
It's an interesting question. I wonder how much anything sounds exactly like what was played as soon as you start adding effects to things. I guess it's a bit like technology that shows what people will look like when they're older. How do we know how accurate it is?
Only now I have noticed the beautiful LEGO Yellow Submarine. Always asked myself if I hear some Dutch marine language during that song "Duiken, duiken" and some words before that and even a German word. Somewhere between the 1:30 and 1:45.
Great review Mr. Dixon Since I don’t stream I am going to have to wait until my box set arrives But that’s fine because we are only six days away from its release and when it comes I know that I am going to enjoy it Since I am subscribed to The Beatles UA-cam channel, I was able to listen to Tax Man and also to John when he is starting to write Yellow Submarine and I love it but I can’t wait to get my box set so that I can listen to it loud on my CD player rather than on my phone‘s little speaker Anyways, thank you very much for doing this review Blessings to you and your family And I’am really looking forward to your unboxing videos for both the CD and vinyl versions of this box set although I will only be getting the CD version because I can’t play vinyl
Andrew so enjoyed your take on this. Don't know if you said or not but were your listening through headphones? My copies will arrive on release day, can't wait to do a comparison as well. Thank you for sharing all this excitement. Take care!
I’ve just listened to She Said She Said. It’s a weird mix in that the beginning riff is really prominent but then the rest of the song it seems like it’s in the background and the vocals are the main focus. To me it just seems like the riff should have been a main focus. I compared it to the mono version and to be fair, it’s the same. But… you know… if you’re gonna remix it…. remix it. It should sound more like And Your Bird Can Sing but sounds flat compared to that.
I will get this new set....but I'm really interested in what (if anything) Giles Martin can do to improve the stereo mixes of PLEASE PLEASE ME and (particularly) WITH THE BEATLES. They NEED new stereo mixes soon!!
From how you described the session tracks, I think I made the right decision to go for the "Revolver" 2 CD edition. Most of the best and most interesting tracks are on the bonus disc of the 2 CD set. Except for 3 or 4 of the tracks you mentioned, I think the rest would be something I'd only hear a couple times. The bonus CD from the 2 CD set will be a much better listen. The same was true for me with the "Sgt. Pepper" and "Abbey Road" 2 CD editions.
hi andrew i even believe john had the yellow submarine bit in mind as well as the verses its been shown in the new worktape because have you not heard the interview with john when hes talking about an lsd trip he had when he ended up on his own all night with sofa cushions all round him on the floor and he was tripping that he was quote "driving a blue submarine and a green submarine and it felt like it was going above the houses"? i cant see that just being a coincedance or maybe he told that story to paul and paul made it into that chorus but it does appear the whole concept came from john but maybe paul didturn it into that chorus. but thanks for all this review hope to get my vinyl box tomorrow but i have got a cd single for right now and i agree with most of your review
For "And Your Bird Can Sing," did they separate the harmony lead guitars for the 1st time or are they still married together? I was hoping for some better separation of the 2 guitars....
Just listened to the newly released Got To Get You Into My Life. They never played that song live, but I think that's the closest we'll get to hearing a live version by The Beatles.
Hey Andrew, fantastic detailed review, thank you! I will be getting the vinyl box, but I am very new to vinyl. Quick question, when listening to the mono album, do you replace your stereo cartridge to a mono cartridge on your turntable for maximum mono enjoyment? Thx a bunch!
Hi Andrew. That song Good Day Sunshine don´t coming demos about this song, strange because others songs have your demos.I like cool this box set and now can hear all songs in high fidelity.Uchino of Japan.Thank you.
Hi mate, For me, a high on the Sessions cd's is the build up of Yellow Submarine. A simplex singalong, but still a celvernieuwing melody and harmony. Considering the set: it is a very short playing time. But very very enjoyable. And the mono and stereo mixes sound better than they ever did. More punchy, tremble and bass. Looking forward to Friday to get the CD and lp sets. Up till then I must do it with an Internet flac download of the cd's and the complete book. Take care.
.....if anyone is wondering ....er...while watching from South America...?.....WHERE the music clips are - well , here in the UK we aren't allowed to upload even the tiniest clips of Beatles music without it getting immediately 'blocked worldwide' ....and sometimes even a warning not to be a naughty boy and deprive the copyright holders of cd sales - when in fact we're PROMOTING the material on our channels !
@@AndrewDixonMusic ....a video I did at the 1997 Convention featured Howey Casey doing the Sax solo from 'My Love' ....and even THAT got me a warning - yet fans in other countries ....in particular South America , can seemingly upload anything...even full Beatles cd's and dvd's !
Also Andrew how do you think the vinyl mono in the new box set compares to an original 66 UK mono? Because I don't have the 2014 vinyl box (only the white album separately which is obviously fantastic) but I do have a really really nice 66 UK mono and I can't wait to get my box set to compare and just wanted to know what you think if you have one of the 66 UK mono originals?
Hi Andrew. I had the super deluxe cd set in my watch list on Amazon but it’s been saying since Friday morning - no longer available, we don’t know if this will be back in stock 😳. Anyway, I found it about a tenner more on HMV with free shipping, so I’ve ordered from there, Enjoyed your review and looking forward to the box set Cheers!
Serious question, why is anyone paying good money for minor, almost imperceptible changes? I just don't get how many Beatles fans will pay over and over for the same music re-packaged and re-mastered. The Anthology series was worth buying because they were different versions. I've got Revolver on cd and I'm perfectly happy with it.
I honestly don't feel I have much of a need again for the original stereo mix as used in 2009. The mono 2009 CD/2014 vinyl are still probably the best I'd say, but the new remix is the best for headphones for sure.
I enjoyed your review, Andrew. But not as much as the box set itself. I've been listening all weekend! I think I like the White Album box slightly better, but this is a firm 2nd place for me. It seems the perfect selection in terms of sessions outtakes.
Thanks, dude! Yet to hear the new box set. Tried to torrent it, but I guess that´s not the point! Not the right way to do it. Known Revolver forever. Loved it forever.
I'm sure I've given enough spoiler warnings but here's another just in case!

Great comment, I also enjoy flicking between the different versions, especially Sgt Pepper!
Nice overview. On the "I'm Only Sleeping" Rehearsal Fragment (discussed at 29:00), that sounds more like marimba than glockenspiel.
Very clean!
@@AndrewDixonMusic As clean as a certain fire engine, which we all know, was a clean machine.
I'll get back and listen to the video when I've got my copy. I want to listen to it the first time without knowing nothing. It will be a long week of waiting for the 5 vinyls that that's been ordered.
Excellent. The best Beatles reviewer on UA-cam. 🙂
Wow thank you Larry, that means a lot 👍
Not had chance to watch yours today but I'll be doing that tomorrow
Excellent review Andrew. And head and shoulders above some of your American peers and competitors in this space. Looking forward to your unboxing video.
Thank you 🙂👍
I’m a bit tense for She said and I’m only sleeping now. They are two of my favourites on the album
I did the album today on headphones and was a lot happier with I'm Only Sleeping. Even She Said She Said was improved through headphones.
@@AndrewDixonMusic that’s alright then
"He's got the rock, but he's not quite got the roll yet." GREAT line. Now really wanting to hear this version. So, thank you for this. I'll hold off on the purchase for a while but WILL get it. I've already heard the Yellow Submarine John verse, which I was VERY curious about.
Honestly it sounds like the new remix is brilliant!!! ❤ can’t wait to listen to it . Thanks for the review 👌
How did you get to listen to these early. I cant wait to sit and listen to the albums
28th
Who did write Submarine? Paul? Or was it a Lennon/McCartney composition?
Just very interesting to hear this new snippet with John.
Megasting.
There was an interview with John and Paul at the Ivor Novello Awards in early 1967 where they say it was two separate songs combined . John's verse melody and Paul's chorus. I think this confirms this.
@@scottandrewbrass Oh now that is interesting! Thank you x
@@MegaSting1981 Not a problem.
Finally you can hear Paul's bass in Tomorrow never knows.
Thanks, hope you enjoy it when it arrives!
Thanks!
Love the bends behind you, what a fantastic record that is!
Andrew like everything about the Beatles I learn so much when your explaining them your a master
Great work as always Andrew 👏
I don’t know if you noticed that “I’m only sleeping” apparently was also a song they recorded faster and then it was slowed down. You can hear it on the mono mix 1 countdown at the start
One of the early versions in the sessions disc is a much quicker version
@@AndrewDixonMusic that’s what I mean…
Cheers Jeffrey, very kind words 🙂👍
Is the new mix based on the mono version? Just like the remix of Sgt. Pepper was? For example, is the extra backward guitar present on I'm Only Sleeping? Or does Love You Too have the longer fade-out of the mono mix? You mentioned Yellow Submarine is true to the original mono mix with the intro guitar. Is this the case with all the tracks?
There are some new extra guitars on She Said She Said, but not on I'm Only Sleeping, Love You Too is 8 seconds shorter than the mono version
no
Just listened to mine, it's ok seems an understatement 😂 Highlights for me on the main album are And Your Bird, Tomorrow & Eleanor Rigby.
I expect all the songs will be posted to UA-cam next weekend. Can't wait to listen to the songs in the phones.
Curious to hear your comparison of the 2009 mono release and the mono on disc 4 of the new set. Ah! I see you already did it! Quick response lol.
Excellent run through Sir, thanks
Excellent review Andrew! The best on the 'Tube!
Ordered the CD set from Amazon over a month ago and it still hasn’t been dispatched - notification advises delivery on Wednesday which is unusual for them as they normally dispatch day of release. Looking at their site now and they are saying new orders have a delivery of 1 to 3 weeks. Bizarre.
Thank you for the video. I'm looking forward to it even more now.
Hi Andrew, love your analysis and reports. Thank you very much.
Comment regarding your summary about best albums Beatles and solo:
To me is Abby Road the best Beatles' album and more considering that the Beatles were at their very end.
To me is Ram not the best McCartney album, but that of course is a question of taste.
Keep up the good work.
Best regards,
Fred Nijsten

Wow, it IS Paul on bass on SSSS after all.
Only now I have noticed the beautiful LEGO Yellow Submarine. Always asked myself if I hear some Dutch marine language during that song "Duiken, duiken" and some words before that and even a German word. Somewhere between the 1:30 and 1:45.
Great review Mr. Dixon
Since I don’t stream I am going to have to wait until my box set arrives
But that’s fine because we are only six days away from its release and when it comes I know that I am going to enjoy it
Since I am subscribed to The Beatles UA-cam channel, I was able to listen to Tax Man and also to John when he is starting to write Yellow Submarine and I love it but I can’t wait to get my box set so that I can listen to it loud on my CD player rather than on my phone‘s little speaker
Anyways, thank you very much for doing this review
Blessings to you and your family And I’am really looking forward to your unboxing videos for both the CD and vinyl versions of this box set although I will only be getting the CD version because I can’t play vinyl
Andrew so enjoyed your take on this. Don't know if you said or not but were your listening through headphones? My copies will arrive on release day, can't wait to do a comparison as well. Thank you for sharing all this excitement. Take care!
I don't think I did say but no, I wasn't listening through headphones.
I feel that Rubber Soul is next. So, perhaps that those will come out in 2023 and 2024?
I think Giles Martin widened the Clavichord track on For No One by sending it back out into speakers in the Abbey Road studio room and re-micing it.
It appears the "Revolver" remix is in US stores, but Amazon hasn't yet shipped, and it states the "Arrival" as November 11.
Same here Nov.11 from Amazon, only because our local FYE stores are shut do to Hurricane Ian in my area
True
Thankyou Andrew I enjoyed the review
hi andrew i even believe john had the yellow submarine bit in mind as well as the verses its been shown in the new worktape because have you not heard the interview with john when hes talking about an lsd trip he had when he ended up on his own all night with sofa cushions all round him on the floor and he was tripping that he was quote "driving a blue submarine and a green submarine and it felt like it was going above the houses"? i cant see that just being a coincedance or maybe he told that story to paul and paul made it into that chorus but it does appear the whole concept came from john but maybe paul didturn it into that chorus. but thanks for all this review hope to get my vinyl box tomorrow but i have got a cd single for right now and i agree with most of your review
Excellent review Andrew. Thanks. I'll grt the vinyl box I think.
For "And Your Bird Can Sing," did they separate the harmony lead guitars for the 1st time or are they still married together? I was hoping for some better separation of the 2 guitars....
7:00 Andrew, how did you know the pitch you had to start on singing? You don't have absolute hearing, do you?
I'd practiced it a couple of times before hand so I knew roughly where to go, but I admit I got a little lucky!
Just listened to the newly released Got To Get You Into My Life. They never played that song live, but I think that's the closest we'll get to hearing a live version by The Beatles.
What an excellent comment! You really captured the feeling we get when listening to that track. The Imagination runs wild!
I heard a clavichord on for no one on the original stereo mix of revolver
Hey Andrew, fantastic detailed review, thank you! I will be getting the vinyl box, but I am very new to vinyl. Quick question, when listening to the mono album, do you replace your stereo cartridge to a mono cartridge on your turntable for maximum mono enjoyment? Thx a bunch!
Thanks Vito. I don't have a separate mono cartridge, I just use the same one for all records. Maybe that's something I'll progress to in future!
Hi Andrew. That song Good Day Sunshine don´t coming demos about this song, strange because others songs have your demos.I like cool this box set and now can hear all songs in high fidelity.Uchino of Japan.Thank you.
Hi mate,
For me, a high on the Sessions cd's is the build up of Yellow Submarine.
Take care.
Cheers Pe, enjoy the box!
Thank you very much for your detailed presentation !
Thanks for watching! 🙂👍
Maybe you could tell the keys of the two rain versions
.....if anyone is wondering ....er...while watching from South America...?.....WHERE the music clips are - well , here in the UK we aren't allowed to upload even the tiniest clips of Beatles music without it getting immediately 'blocked worldwide' ....and sometimes even a warning not to be a naughty boy and deprive the copyright holders of cd sales - when in fact we're PROMOTING the material on our channels !
I regularly get abuse from people who are complaining that I didn't do something they wanted, even when doing that would likely get me shut down...
@@AndrewDixonMusic ....a video I did at the 1997 Convention featured Howey Casey doing the Sax solo from 'My Love' ....and even THAT got me a warning - yet fans in other countries ....in particular South America , can seemingly upload anything...even full Beatles cd's and dvd's !
...yes, just block the barmpots !
never mind the spoiler... I think the 2 CD version contains what's interesting for me.
Hi Andrew. When are you expecting to receive your Revolver box sets. I know you stated that it would be sometime this week.
I hope Tuesday, but it's dependant on the post!
@@AndrewDixonMusic looking forward to the unboxing. I have gone for the 2 disc version.
I'd like to get the vinyl box set but it's too much money for me. I've bought the vinyl album and 2cd so far. Thanks for video
Hi Andrew. I had the super deluxe cd set in my watch list on Amazon but it’s been saying since Friday morning - no longer available, we don’t know if this will be back in stock 😳. Anyway, I found it about a tenner more on HMV with free shipping, so I’ve ordered from there,
Enjoyed your review and looking forward to the box set
Cheers!
Where does this rate with the 2009 mix? I thought that was great. What about the mono
Version in the The Beatles Mono Boxset from same year?
I honestly don't feel I have much of a need again for the original stereo mix as used in 2009.
The mono 2009 CD/2014 vinyl are still probably the best I'd say, but the new remix is the best for headphones for sure.
Thanks Andrew!
