    Thank you very much for the demonstration. Honestly, Honda should not require strictly authorized dealers to do this task. Any average person like me can do this, safely so.😊

    Thank you, great video!
    It looks a simple enough set of tasks, but if done without care (or love!), there are lots of things that can go wrong - fairing bits pulled out roughly breaking fasteners, overtightened bolts, wrong oil, etc.
    Now think about who is more likely to do this with care, love and diligence - the person for whom the bike is their pride and joy, or some random person at a dealership or mechanics.
    I've learned the hard way that no one is going to care about doing a good job on your bike more than you do.
    While there are plenty of jobs that I couldn't/wouldn't do myself, for everything else I DIY it. With excellent content creators like Nick, all the information you need is out there.

    Just a little suggestion when using the sump plug washer again, hit the washer with some sandpaper. This way you remove the old “sealing” marks on the washer and you get a clean smooth washer again. Don’t forget to clean the washer afterwards.

    This will fit but it's not the correct one.

    • @nicksepisode

      Honda don't make oil filters, they buy them from oil filter companies and stamp Honda on them and charge you more money. Its only wise in todays economic crisis to think smart and save money

    Just subscribed, nice clear video and good info. I prefer to use a torque wrench where values are given. I have a Honda oil filter removal tool which is used for removing and replacing the filter without causing any damage. It also allows a torque wrench to be used to tighten the filter up to it 26 lb ft figure. Ex mechanic so I have a lot of the tools to hand.

    This is the best, most clear, and in-depth video I've seen for changing oil on this bike. I have a couple questions though:
    I know you said you can re-use the crush washer if you flip it around, but what do I buy to replace it if I think a previous owner might've flipped it or reused it in the past and I want to be safe with a new one? Is it a part I can find in my local automotive parts shops, or do I need to order through Honda?
    Also, I thought the draining procedure is best done on the side stand, rather than the center stand? Is that true? The center stand is used when checking the oil level.

    • @nicksepisode
      @nicksepisode  2 роки тому

      You can use a car drain washer too. Centre stand is best for drainage. Thanks for watching

    Nice vid pal. May I ask, does the oil level have to be done on the stand or off? My biffer has to be on the ground held up. Didnt know if it made a difference for the NC. I ask as I'm looking at buying a 21k 2016 model soon. Ride safe

  • @1over137
    @1over137 3 роки тому

    First try and undo the oil filter by hand. Then increase your tools until it comes loose. You don't need the fancy wrench if you can't afford one. The cheaper ones, like chain straps, don't work. When doing it up, a bare hand grip only. If you get stuck a local bike shop may lend you a pro-tool for an afternoon FoC if you are polite. As long as you have a second mode of transport, have at it.

    • @1over137
      @1over137 3 роки тому

      In an emergency you can "hack it off" with a screwdriver rammed through it and used for leverage. When that fails you have pretty much opened it like a can anyway, so strip it back and grab the actual core with vice grips to crack it open. If someone else serviced your bike last time... don't go back.
      Oh... and expect a LOT of mess to clean up.

    • @nicksepisode
      @nicksepisode  3 роки тому

      The tool linked is 6.99, does the same job as my snap on one, I'm yet to find an nc750x filter hand loose after a year of use, but you never know 😅

    *HEY GUYS, I NEED SOME HELP!*
    I changed my oil and oil filter yesterday on my 2011 kawasaki ninja 250 and when I went to tight the filter cover and oil filter mounting bolt, I broke the filter cover.. It's in pieces and I've been searching all over to get a replacement but where's a good place to order one? Or could I use another oil filter cover at maybe a local hardware or bike shop??
