Hi, I have a laptop connected to another monitor via HDMI. I connected a single male-to-male jack from the back of the monitor to the audio jack of my JBL GO speaker (it is a single speaker only, not 2 like yours so I did not need the splitter).

Yes. Monitors have an AUX OUT. Speakers have an AUX IN.
So it is OUT from the monitor and IN to the speakers.

@@blackart7044 sorry i tried that out and that didn't work i.e the bluetooth - but what worked was connecting the speakers to the dell laptop and then selecting from there
Though i will make a video for you tommorow, here are the steps
1.) instead of connecting the jbl speakers to the monito connect them to the laptop
Now , from the audio options select option headphones ( this will direct to the JBL speakers ) and you will have the monitor output and the audio from the jbl speaker
2. In case you don't have any speakers , you can still take audio from the laptop speakers
once you have achieved the hdmi connection, go to audio settings and select from the list of speakers ...one will show the monitor p2419h ( which you will not select) and one will show laptop speakers which in my case was speaker realtek (R )audio ...selecting that will make laptop speakers work
If your laptiopo speakers aren't great like mine , i will sugest buyiong some good speakers and then connecting to those after achieving hdmi connecting from the audio settings , anyways will make a video tommorow, if i forget you can remind me on [e-mail]
