I watched several videos on how to use Shoe Goo
watched and yours with the best one yet oh, I know I watched at least 10 before I found yours. Thank you for getting right to the point!

From my understanding both surfaces should be allowed to dry before pressing together . From the instructions "Allow to partially cure, approximately 2 minutes before mating surfaces" If you follow the instructions you might need a thinner coat of glue than is shown in the video .

wow, this was the best video, and I watched all of the videos about shoe goo. Those clamps just work unbelievably good. Better than trying to stack books or cinderblocks, L O L.

A popsicle stick or wooden coffee stirrer paddle spreads ShoeGoo to BOTH surfaces well.
I use masking tape to keep the 2 parts joined for 24 hours before use.

I got the 4 mini tubes off amazon. Took 2/3 of 1 to fix the sole of my Fila tennis shoe. Holding up nicely after a week. I got the 4 mini tubes with fear of the big tube drying up on me between uses. Before, I would use epoxy to fix soles. But after a few uses of that stuff, that would dry out on me. I think with the 4 mini tubes, I can squeeze out 8 repairs. I think the 1/3 I have left in the first tube is good for a repair (unless it dries out).

use a paintbrush to make sure it's evenly applied to the entire surface.

Shoe Goo is too thick to paint, you should use Infinity Cement.

    A 10 mile walk...
    In boots...
My feet would be harder with so much callus that I could walk on molted steel and thinks it's too cold.

Have to be careful clamping the boots because the clamp might displace other parts of the sole causing it to lift from the base of the boot and not glue properly. Cable ties can also be tricky because they can tighten around the sides of the shoe but not put pressure on the centre areas of the sole which might not be forced together.

Yes you are right, it depends on the shoe, the ones in the video and quite rugged but some will not withstand that treatment - I had little to lose from trying the repair as without a sole the shoe was useless anyway. Thanks.

You're not using gloves, which I think is important plus a mask and goggles. I've almost flicked a blob in my eyes before so now I put the goggles on too

I think I can fix one sole that is starting to loosen up on a pair of casual ladies shoes. But the other sole came completely off. It is heavy: at 1/4"at the toe to 1/2" at the heel. So I will probably need to take that to a cobbler. The shoes are leather, and the soles are not worn out. So I want to save them. They are nice shoes. Has anyone tried to resole a heavy sole to a shoe and it be a success?

I'm pretty sure that this shoe goo is the same stuff, from the smell, that my Mother had her high heels fixed up with at the cobblers in the 80's. This shoe goo is very sturdy when carefully bonding two surfaces held-to with elastic bands or a clamp together for 72 hours. Not so good on the exterior or on constant flex points like a toe crease. But bonding is it's strength ;)

In my country, this paste costs $20. Who gives me a % that the sole will not come unstuck if it touches rainwater?

It's waterproof. Like the stuff you put around your shower and tub's seams so water doesn't leak into them. You see how water does nothing to it but roll off?
