You've helped inspire me to get back into mountain biking! Never done anything too serious but stuff like this makes me want to add it back into my Hobby list!
You were the first MTB youtuber I discovered, and I feel a certain loyalty now 6 months later I still watch your videos before others! Keep it up Ryan, ride hard👌
One of the coolest things I’ve done in my life. I had the chance to ride it in 2017 and it was beyond amazing. I would like to get out there again and ride it once more.
The rebound felt good, but that trail has so many boulder fields that it was hard to keep those feet on at high speed! Gotta remember to keep my heels down more.
Curious which pedal and shoe combination you were riding here. I recently rented a high end carbon bike in California and was surprised to find worn out Wellgo BMX flats missing half their pins. Unfortunately the shuttle guy had picked the bike up at closing time the night before and we had to be on the hill before the shop opened again. Luckily this was in bone-dry conditions, so slippage wasn't really an issue. If it was wet I would have been furious.
Amazing looking place ! If you can you wanna get yourself over to the French Alps next year and race the Mega Avalanche ......properly serious High mountain trails !!!
Rode this last Friday, actually the only clear day during the week at Whistler because of the smoke. The ride consisted of TOW/Khyber/MON/Kashmir/Kush/Lower Half BC Trail/Earth Circus...awesome!
That's a sick lap! We did TOTW/a bit of Ride Don't Slide/a bit of Southpark/all of BC's Trail/Earth Circus. The best kind of choose your own adventure haha.
The Loam Ranger ; Yup, that’s why Whistler is epic. Something for everyone. BTW, I spoke to the Pole Rep while meandering in the Village. I’m 5’10”, but dog gone that bike is long enough to damn near put a 40 on that thing. The new rear linkage looks a lot more robust than the earlier model. How did you feel about the bike honestly, while plowing through the gnarl?
Both incredible trails. LOTS is no joke of a climb. Be ready for a bit of a post ride nap haha. I also needed a coffee break just doing a top to bottom from TOTW. My son is finally gonna do that trail this weekend. Change up from Aline sessions all the young boosters do in hard rotation. Great content man.
I... Where to begin? ... I can't believe this exists. I didn't know what lift access bike park was until last year and now I'm thousands into it, and moving my family to Bellingham WA just to be closer to this... Excellent job capturing what can only be a life changing experience!
Sweet vid Ryan! I've been riding clipless for more years than I care to admit. Sometimes it's good, other times it gets me in trouble hahah, but I feel naked without them!
As I will be riding that awesome trail real soon I was wondering what top of the world was gonna look like after ews went through it all day🤔 Well now I know. 15 more days to go🤗 I'm like a l'il kid waiting for Christmas day to arrive because he knows his new bike will be under the tree when he wakes up🙃
I've seen other vids of Top of the World, and there's usually a fantastic view in the background. Is that smoke obscuring the view or just your filter on your camera? Love your vids by the way. Definitely need to get up to BC and do this trail. Living in my little loamy and rooty bubble here in the redwoods in California..
Great video! I'm ordering my own Machine in a few days time and I'm more than excited about it! Could you, please, do an extensive review on the one you rode?
Have your been to panarama British Columbia It’s a big ski hill in the winter but the turn it in to a pretty cool mountain bike trail in the summer I’m header up there soon
i_06_reid X thanks! You can pedal up from the Garbo zone I guess, but it wouldn’t be very fun! Plus when the chair isn’t operating, it usually means the trail isn’t rideable anyways.
Do you never eat shit? (expression used for falling, don't take it literally lol) I'm just watching this and thinking if I fell off I'm definitely breaking some bones at the speeds you go.
Ok good, you're still human and not some bike rocket riding robot! Be safe out there and keep the awesome sexy videos coming, it's always a highlight to watch these, really amazing to see what nature is like in the mountains as well as what people are capable of doing. Cheers!
Oh boy, I haven't ridden a Pole bike in years at this point! I've also never ridden the new models or in Moab whatsoever, so unfortunately, I'm of little help here. Sorry.
If you're into the raw metal look the good news is that you don't need much skill to apply paint stripper and clear coat. The obvious drawback is you likely void the warranty.
yeah, i know, i've stripped an old cannondale to raw finish but it take a lot of effort to get rid of the paint(worth it). I'll stick to the current paint job !
He said "elbow pad territory" and now its impossible for me to stop imagining landing on one of those sharp rocks on your arm....with all your weight and speed....
Next time do yourself a favour and peel off TOTW to Khyber, Middle of No Where, Kashmir and Kush or Ride Don’t Slide. Way more fun the the bottom of TOTW
Just because the bike is fast doesn't mean it will be ridden fast. Ryan is a decent rider but more importantly that trail is an extremely challenging physical test. EWS riders will use caution on that trail.
Yeah I rode it on the probably the same day (after EWS) and it was brutal! The video doesn’t show just how gnarly those rocks are. I can tell you he was waaaaay faster than me, haha!
I could but on a trail like that and at those speeds, you kinda need the fast rebound to keep the wheel moving properly and connecting with the ground between hits. It’s always a tricky balance!
Now check out *this* bike park: ua-cam.com/video/oYxDwzHpHXY/v-deo.html
The Loam Ranger wow that's insane. Thx dude. Really enjoyed ur vids. On my must do list.
I’ve road this trail and I’m only 12 it’s not that hard
Roman Jennings haha gotcha dude.
I love the way you interact with the other bikers!👍🏻
You've helped inspire me to get back into mountain biking! Never done anything too serious but stuff like this makes me want to add it back into my Hobby list!
You were the first MTB youtuber I discovered, and I feel a certain loyalty now 6 months later I still watch your videos before others! Keep it up Ryan, ride hard👌
That’s awesome! Thanks for following along the last six months 🤘🏼🤘🏼
wow man what an awesome jenky trail. B.C. is a mountain bikers wet dream. so superb, thanks for the adventure.
It definitely is! Cheers man 🤘🏼
I just love watching your videos, it's very calming in a way.
Legitimate rock gardens. Super fun descent!
They were bouncing me around like crazy haha. Good times.
One of the coolest things I’ve done in my life. I had the chance to ride it in 2017 and it was beyond amazing. I would like to get out there again and ride it once more.
maybe your rebound is a little to fast? if your feet keep bouncing of the pedals slow it down a bit
Luckily this was in bone-dry conditions, so slippage wasn't really an issue. If it was wet I would have been furious.
It could even be too slow rebound if your suspension can't recover after a hit the next hit won't be absorbed and will kick your rear wheel harder.
I rode this trail for the first time last weekend! It was so good!
Nice! Ya I love it.
6:35
"Nows a good time to rest your arms and legs"
*Instant near death experience
Yup. Good times.
Just getting to the top of TOTW is epic. Great trail for every mountainbiker's bucket list. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Machine.
Totally. The chair on the way up is even a sketchy ride 😂.
Sick Bike. Sick Video. Sick Trail. Just Awesome.
Cheers Paul!
I just rode it yesterday one of the best runs of my week
Nice!
Not many people show that top section of the trail. Cool to see it. Thanks for posting!
You bet! That’s the spicy part 😀
I don’t know anything about biking. But I know your good! I would only be down that trail in a couple of days. Keep up the good work.
Amazing looking place ! If you can you wanna get yourself over to the French Alps next year and race the Mega Avalanche ......properly serious High mountain trails !!!

Twentykixx _ the loam ranger ya where is the machine review video?!?
That trail looks awesome! Good riding Loam Ranger!
Thanks Eddie!
That trail looks fun
Underrated channel. You deserve way more subscribers
Thanks for that!
Kind of hard trail and a pretty good ride!
Awesome video!!! This and Lord of the Squirrels are my 2 bucket list trails!!!
I still haven’t done Lord Of The Squirrels! That’ll have to wait for the next Whistler trip.
Rode that for the first time the week before Crankworx and it was super dusty...looked to be in much better shape for your run down it
It was still dusty! Didnt show on camera much, but it was good and blown out haha. Good times.
I... Where to begin? ...
I can't believe this exists.
I didn't know what lift access bike park was until last year and now I'm thousands into it, and moving my family to Bellingham WA just to be closer to this...
Excellent job capturing what can only be a life changing experience!
Definitely on the bucket list! Awesome video, as always!
Cheers! Yup, it’s a must-do Trail, for sure
Super cool ride Ryan, those boulders were blowing your feet off the pedals! Good thing they didn't knock you off, great looking bike you have!
Agreed, those rocks were big! The bike was just a test rig, unfortunately.
Sweet vid Ryan! I've been riding clipless for more years than I care to admit. Sometimes it's good, other times it gets me in trouble hahah, but I feel naked without them!
Agreed! I’ve been back and forth over the years. On this trail clips would have been handy!
As I will be riding that awesome trail real soon I was wondering what top of the world was gonna look like after ews went through it all day🤔 Well now I know. 15 more days to go🤗 I'm like a l'il kid waiting for Christmas day to arrive because he knows his new bike will be under the tree when he wakes up🙃
Haha sweet! Enjoy it. 🤘🏼
You were flying down that! Looked epic
Thanks!
That bike is sooooooo NICE!
Ya the smoke has been brutal right across western Canada. Something like 550 forest fires in BC right now.
Going to whistler is my DREAMM
Make a plan and make it happen!
Great video!
I'm ordering my own Machine in a few days time and I'm more than excited about it! Could you, please, do an extensive review on the one you rode?
Have your been to panarama British Columbia
It’s a big ski hill in the winter but the turn it in to a pretty cool mountain bike trail in the summer
I’m header up there soon
You might want to check out this vid :) ua-cam.com/video/oYxDwzHpHXY/v-deo.html aaand the other vids I’ve done from Pano. Love that place!
When are you gonna drop the Machine review?
Stoked to get your take on that fine ride.
Keep on keep‘ non.
Defiantly on the list!
I practice Parkour, but omg I love your kind of videos, IDK it's so fun :D Keep Up
I love watching other interesting sports too! Gives a fun new perspective on things. Thanks for watching man!
Yes more whistler
Nice Machine you got there
I wish it was mine! Just a tester.
I want to do this trail, it looks epic
It definitely is!
Sweet ride my friend! Cheers!
Thanks!
Yes, ride clips. Flats just do not give enough control.
the image quality is supreme
Thanks!
Looks amazing!! Way beyond my current skill set to ride a place like this!! haha
Is Josh (DailyMTB) riding his hardtail through this???
You’d be surprised! No, Josh was riding his Trek Remedy for this.
Wow, thats craxy.. i would never ride on gravel like that - not at those speed atleast, guess you have good breaks though.. /fellow bike enthusiast
I'm planning to go to whistler next summer and I'm so excited! Also you should ride idaho
I hear Idaho is awesome!
It is
My hands died just watching this 😃 you were givin er hell!
Haha somehow my hands were fine, but my legs were another story! Thanks man 🤘🏼
Its when your headset starts creaking is when you know you're shredding HARD
All I heard at 6:43 was Boostmaster haha
i want to go ride there soon
Make it happen!
cool video, set that cattle grid vibrato [at the end] as your cellphone ring tone ha ha :p
😂
Love ure vids
Thanks!
What kind of bike are you using? A full spring or hardtail?
Hi, great video, I've tried searching but can't find out, is it possible to ride to the top of the world if you can't get the peak pass?
i_06_reid X thanks! You can pedal up from the Garbo zone I guess, but it wouldn’t be very fun! Plus when the chair isn’t operating, it usually means the trail isn’t rideable anyways.
Nice !
Thanks!
Which one do you like more Evolink or the Machine ?
Do you never eat shit? (expression used for falling, don't take it literally lol) I'm just watching this and thinking if I fell off I'm definitely breaking some bones at the speeds you go.
Haha yup. I’ve crashed hard a number of times over the years. Broken a few things, but nothing life threatening.
Ok good, you're still human and not some bike rocket riding robot! Be safe out there and keep the awesome sexy videos coming, it's always a highlight to watch these, really amazing to see what nature is like in the mountains as well as what people are capable of doing. Cheers!
Do you where a backprotection suit - I guess you do at those speed - but you mention you don't wear any elbowpads..? Mother said you should.
Unreal looking place man. It is on the list of must do’s. Clipless pedals all the way. Come to the dark side Luke
Haha I’ve gone back and forth over the years and I like both! For that trail, clips all the way.
Dang, it's even smoky down there. Gotta try to find an EWS guy to chase down, play a game of "Can I Keep Up?"
I actually did that haha. But yes it’s incredibly smoky across all of BC *and* Alberta.
The Loam Ranger and where is that video?!
with all the time you have spent on Pole bikes, I just bought a Vikkela, and was wondering how you think it would be on a Moab Whole Enchilada trail?
Oh boy, I haven't ridden a Pole bike in years at this point! I've also never ridden the new models or in Moab whatsoever, so unfortunately, I'm of little help here. Sorry.
I'm gonna die riding this lol
But it’ll be a lot of fun! 😂
You know what ? Your videos decided me to buy an Evolink. I love it but it's too bad it doesn't come with this shiny aluminium finish.
You’re going to *love* that Evolink! The machined finish is quite beautiful in person though 😍
If you're into the raw metal look the good news is that you don't need much skill to apply paint stripper and clear coat. The obvious drawback is you likely void the warranty.
I take it in black and i feel like i'm riding batman's bike. Big and long and black and not like anybody else in the surrounding.
yeah, i know, i've stripped an old cannondale to raw finish but it take a lot of effort to get rid of the paint(worth it). I'll stick to the current paint job !
How do you get your videos so smooth with the Camera?
watch his other video.. he uses a gimble to keep the video angle and none-bouncy.
Andreas Bengter
I saw that, but thanks anyways
Clip ins
Hi, why did your headset creaking? And how did you fix it ? I have the same problem. Thx
It was just dusty and dry, so it’s pretty common to have a creaky headset in those conditions. You gotta lube that headset!
Hey dude, are you riding flats or clipped-in?
Flats lately.
Honestly I’d love to do this but I’d bust my ass the second I went over 2 miles per hour
Haha it’s too fun not to try 😀
Wow. Those brakes must be nuclear reactor hot by the time you make the lift line.
Did you get a new bike?! Sweet trail btw!
It’s just a demo!
The Loam Ranger sweet demo!
That's why I ride clipped in only to keep my feet from flying around and banging up my shins
He said "elbow pad territory" and now its impossible for me to stop imagining landing on one of those sharp rocks on your arm....with all your weight and speed....
Yup. I had that thought a couple of times in the moment as well haha
new bike? new forks? omfg!
Just a test unit. Still got my blue Evolink!
Wowowowo
Thanks!
What a thumbnail!
Haha thanks!
Hahhaha your foot just blew right off your leg? BOOM! ahh.. yeah.. my sense of humour..
That’s what it seemed like at the time! Haha
To bad about the view, so much better a few weeks earlier, Before the bushfires.
Yeah it seems to be a yearly thing now 😞
If I try this, this would be the last thing i’ve ever Done.
Cuz I would die here
But at least you’d have a nice view 😂
The Loam Ranger
True! Haha
I went to there and I am 13
Why is there people that have just randomly stopped
That’s a great question haha. They were all stopped in pretty silly spots.
Haha the Machine looks like a pain in the neck to put on the chairlifts.
Haha that’s the worst lift at the park for it, for sure.
Next time do yourself a favour and peel off TOTW to Khyber, Middle of No Where, Kashmir and Kush or Ride Don’t Slide. Way more fun the the bottom of TOTW
We ended up hitting some of Ride Don’t Slide and BC’s trail on the way down. I’ll have to hit those upper trails next time!
i expected a little more speed, given these are the fastest bike out? IDK
Haha more speed? There were some speedy parts if you ask me 😂 I’m also not exactly an EWS racer, so there’s that...
concluded, shred on.
Just slow your rear rebound
I could but on a trail like that and at those speeds, you kinda need the fast rebound to keep the wheel moving properly and connecting with the ground between hits. It’s always a tricky balance!
Feet blowing off peddles..........turn down the rebound.
“nice and chunky”
Title should be "Ride This If You Want To Die"
Why’s your bike look really long?😂
I’ve road that trail it’s not that hard I’m only 12 y/o
Roman Jennings I see that you’ve typed this up and posted it three times on this video 😂 Good job riding the trail!
Firsot
ride this before you die?
more like ride this and you'll die
But you’d have fun doing to 😁
yeah its fun not gonna lie
1st
