What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It's a non-scientific word that an everyday person came up with to describe the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps but much more pleasant and without the uncomfortable chills.
ASMR videos are meant to intentionally induce this sensation in the viewer, often referred to as "tingles", but the videos also serve to provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer. Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.

I was screaming that he went over every vowel with B in front of it and didn't think of Y

That was the thing that got me too. I was holding myself back from screaming at the screen a 2 letter word that starts with "B" can also end in "Y"! He'd have solved it so much faster if he handn't steered himself so far off track by making that mistake. Other then that, his voice and the sounds of his pencil and eraser were relaxing enough.

I think “struggling to solve a cryptogram but gives up and looks up answer” would’ve been better.

You can tell hes a little new at this. He could have finished in 5 minutes if he noticed the four letter word OAVO. Almost 99% of the time a four letter word with the first letter being the same as the last will be “that”.

I've been doing these for years and the first thing I noticed was the first word on the third line. When you have a four letter word that starts and ends with the same letter, more often than not the word is "that" and once you get that, it will open up other common words like "the" "they" & "to" etc.

You need to get a palomino blackwing pencil. I bet it would sound amazing. Also a video about the different sounds from various pencil hardnesses and graphite blends would be cool. A pencil salesmen

I remember learning about Cryptograms at an early age because I used to play a DOS game called Sid Meier's Covert Action. I remember getting these weird messages that had nothing on them but gibberish. Had to take out the manual (Yeah that's what we did back then kids. No tutorials to help you in game.) and figure out what I had to do with them. That's how I found out about Cryptograms and man did I suck at those for a while. Later on are started to notice certain patterns with 2 and 3 letter words and that they were usually "the, us, you, we" and that would narrow down the words I had deciphered and would start to take up letters in other words which became easier to solve that were longer. Fun times.

As a member of an active puzzle-solving team, this has been a great thing to listen to while solving practice puzzles! I'm afraid to try cryptograms while listening to this, though, because I'd almost certain fudge some of the letters with what you're saying!

I had to pause the video and solve the cryptogram myself before I could finish watching because I was so invested and needed to know what the answer was! I ended up solving it and then could finish watching. It was the 'be' is the only two letter word starting with b that made me stop!

I do the daily cryptogram in the newspaper at work. I find it helps me turn off my brain a little and stop fussing over what's waiting for me back at my desk.

You should do an in-world infomercial, the kind that would play in the break room at the ASMR. Or a medical supply dealer convincing the doctors at the ASMR on what tools or devices to use (part salesman, part medical roleplay).

Instantly knew that "D" could not be "E" because the letter E appears way more often than just 2 times (there are only two D's in the encrypted text!) in such a long sentence (really in any sentence).
English and most other languages simply use letters like E or A almost always in a high frequency, so they are never gonna be that rare.
Don't know but even before i concluded that, i saw at first sight that "V" must be "A" and "D" needed to be something rare (like Y, so "B" was only logical at this point which lead to "By"-therefore got "Y" before "B"). Funny game, still gj and nice try 😁👍

A man who is able to solve cryptograms, might have a chance to beat the cryptogram puzzles in Back To The Future part 2 and 3 on the nes. He might even be able to solve the cryptogram password to skip to part 3.

I would very much love to see that!!! You should be in a bunker with ragged clothes and talking about how corrupt the government is and why another revolution needs to happen. I’ve done a few cryptogram books. They’re difficult but rewarding when you finish them. Makes you feel smart. I wasted so much of my free time doing these though. But they’re great for long plane rides, gives you something to do and they take a while. I enjoy them anyways, what do the rest of you think?
