#2 could probably cover most of it- "Don't move somewhere and then try to make it like the crap-hole you just moved from." Everyone is looking at you, Californians. 😐
Word!
Or maybe people are politely trying to educate you, so your actions don't inadvertently kill someone. From an independent someone who lived next to one of the top hospitals in the world and the top hospital in the U.S.
I was born in South West, Missouri.
And I personally think that the Ozarks is one the if not best place in the country to live and raise a family.
Very conservative, believe in individuals' rights, and not judgmental unless you try to take away those rights.
Most have a strong belief in God and country and community.
Red conservative area is my kind of place. Have you seen the Blue states? They are falling apart.
No comment... 😉
Think you need to do some serious research on that statement.
Arkansas has the fifth highest crime rate in the country.all red states are very high crime.
@@larrywright2677 red states have blue cities, blue cities is why the crime rates are high ,gangs drugs, lack of education, and Government dependency ,and Arkansas has Little rock, at one time had the most crime rate in America ,back in the 80's ,they even made a movie about the little Rock call Bangin in Little Rock

Moved to N. central in 2019 after a wildfire took our town and all we had. Yes, pollen is a problem in the spring but the feeling of freedom can't be beat. The fishing & hunting is far and above Calif. The homeless problem is next to none. Even though there is a meth problem, it's small. It's much safer here, the theft problem is next to none. Just lock up what you want to keep. Remember this, almost everyone carries a gun of some type so the low life's tend to keep that in mind and leave you alone.
Awesomeness!
You didn't happen to live in Paradise, California did you? Just curious.

KEEP Arkansas RED, it almost sounds like you’re saying it’s a bad thing …. It’s not! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Being a red state is exactly why my wife and I have come to love it
The Reds are bring child labor back yay!
To someone from a blue western state it might be. To some of us its part of why we’re looking at moving to AR.
Red means crap schools, high poverty, severe restrictions on abortion rights, high crime, ignorance and stupidity.
Problem is people want to talk about politics too much instead of just living life like we used to.
Welcome to Arkansas! Keep it red leave the blue where you left it! 😀
My daughter has a penis. Is it OK if I move my family there?
Last time I checked, people are free to make their own decisions.
@@bayoulafourchenobody said you couldn’t. Arkansas is a great state and we don’t want it destroyed by blue policies like New York, California & Illinois.

My favorite aunt lived in Arkansas and we loved coming to visit. Precious memories ❤ miss that amazing lady so much!
Moved here from California in 2021…. Never looked back. California is over regulated and regimented and too expensive. I’m finally feeling like I’m free. No road rage, everyone is so nice. The youngsters are so polite and mannered.
Where in Arkansas did you move to?
I second this. In California and tired of this. Where in AK?
Between Greers Ferry and Heber springs. 3 minutes from the lake. Finally getting used to real rain. All of the birds are coming out and they are so beautiful and colorful… deer everywhere even in my yard.
My ears still ring from all the California noise I became accustomed to. It’s so quiet and peaceful here. I haven’t been pissed off in months. Money goes way farther

Katelyn what part of the state. I am in Pea Ridge Arkansas.
Our ancestors where Deeded Land here NE Ark. for their service in the War of 1812. Our Area is ruined. It was wonderful growing up here. Im past 70 and dont like it any longer. Its changed for the worse.
@@thecollectoronthecorner7061 Maybe try moving to the Southwest part of Arkansas. I have land there, and my ancestors settled there in the mid-1800's. It is still nice there and no different than it was back in the '60's, still the same.
Well besides the drug running,I wouldnt be proud of that. And how corrupt the police are
You should rename this AVOID moving to North WEST Arkansas. Cause where I live in NE Arkansas I challenge you to find 1, yes ONE bicycle on the roads.. We are longtime residents of NE Arkansas. And I will give you some advice no Lying Realtor will. If you decide to move here or anyplace else. Dont buy a place. You buy something and then you got your money tied up. Rent and stay for a year. That way if you decide you dont like it you can easily pack your bags and leave. If you stay a year and like it them you can purchase a place.
We offer that advise all the time, we also encourage an explore trip to shop, dine, walk, & play in the areas they are interested in
Thanks for bundling all realtors as liars
@@LivinginArkansas I got lucky as my realtor was honest and nice and if I sell my home i will look her up.

Rents are cheap in North Central and North East Ark. I'm talking 500 to 600 a month for a 3 bedroom house. You can't beat the costs.
@@stephenchota6396 We must be looking at different newspapers.
Those are ten good reasons move there. Thanks I really am impressed with Arkansas.
He didn't mention the heat. Actually, northwest Arkansas has the coolest summers in the state, given that it's in the northern part of the state and has some altitude. High temperature today was 102, though, and it's expected to be 103 tomorrow and 100+ the rest of the week. That's a heat wave, but not an especially unusual one as 100 degree temperatures happen pretty much every year with 90's being common all summer long. The winters are usually mild, but can get cold and only about half the year is reliably frost free. As a gardener I find the local weather frustrating for growing cool season crops, as I can only count on a few weeks of frost-free moderate temperatures each spring and fall--there's just not much time between ice and fire like there would be in a coastal area.
Learn to breathe water in Arkansas, the humidity here is terrible.
I am moving from a Democratic state and just as poor. Illinois. I hate this state. Arkansas will be awesome. Go Conservatives! Guns, freedom, and the American dream!
Isn't ar a blue state ? Unfortunately
If you absolutely are convinced to move rather than fix the corruption of your home state please don't corrupt Arkansas.

Most of the things you mentioned are exactly why I am moving to Arkansas!
Born and raised in nwa (fayetteville) and have moved away twice only to miss the Boston Mountains of the Ozarks. Its something about the hills that make nwa special. I understand the appeal and that with walmart and the u of a, growth is inevitable. But the gentrification of Southern Fayetteville breaks my heart bc thats where i grew up. Alot of my childhood memories of certain homes or locations have been demolished and rebuilt with modern, outrageously priced flats. It historically, was the blue collar folks that lived down there. There used to be bars and spots where the community gathered that are just a memory now to only those that were around then. There is one man that everyone with historical ties to fayetteville know. Sherman Morgan...he owned a watering hole with an old jukebox in the holler (south of the old courthouse). But Sherman was fayetteville. If the developers of the area would dig deeper into the areas they are developing and somehow honor the past. Instead slapping a trendy name on a building disrespects the souls that built the town and made fayetteville, what it is today! #keepfayettvillefunky
This nearly made me cry cos it's probably so true.... the past is rarely honoured - it's all about $$$$$
I appreciate your sentiments about NWA. I feel that way too, sometimes. I live in another state now, but after living in Prairie Grove for 25 years, my heart yearns for small-town life, quiet neighborhoods, easy access to streams and lakes, etc. Progress is inevitable and sometimes comes so quickly that it is unsettling. On the other hand, it also has its upside; remember when that area you called "the holler" was called something else?
What about the bugs from hell
And the humidity in the summer
Those are in other videos
I'm from Canada and my wife is from Arkansas. We live in Heber Springs now, you have NO idea how incredibly great things are here compared to other places. Incredible, friendly people who are the best humanity has to offer, hell, wish they were further to the right. This area feels more like home than where I'm actually from.
That says more about you than them and you should really branch out more if Arkansas, the place that finishes last in every category, is your idea of awesome...lol
@@itsmyownfreakshow oh no, it's a poor state, how terrible. The people here must be truly awful... Says more about you really.

Don’t forget Alice Walton killed someone
In 1989, Alice was speeding in Fayetteville, Arkansas and hit a pedestrian. Oleta Harden, a 50 year old cannery worker died from her injuries. Alice was not cited or charged for the incident. In 1998, Alice totaled her SUV in Springdale, Arkansas when she hit a gas meter and a phone booth. She was charged with driving while intoxicated. Despite a blood alcohol level 6 points over the legal limit and her lawyers argued Alice was fatigued, Alice Walton was fined $925. Most recently, in October 2011, Alice Walton was pulled over by police and failed a sobriety test. When police discovered her expired registration, Alice told them she had someone who does that for her.

Hey Amanda, lived in Northern California for 52+ years… question: where in California is there a $450,000 house? My old 1,100 sq ft house in Daly City is now $1.3 million?
@@steveh7108 hey Steve! There are Republican deer / waterfowl hunters and anglers, (catch and EAT!), like me, from California. No, the post of the 12 year old with his first deer certainly shouldn’t be taken down. But, don’t judge every Californian by this person that suggested there was something wrong with killing and eating a deer. Stick to your ways, and eventually, these people will understand that they don’t belong, and move back. I just retired, and moving very soon to “Red” Arizona. But, I am watching this video, because Arkansas intrigues me… it rains there, and the lure of the outdoors life is calling. The drought in the west has really made fishing and duck hunting hit and miss…don’t worry, I’ll fit right in.

Granted, Arkansas is one of the less repulsive, and friendlier Southern States. My Grandparents lived in Arkansas. I spent a lot of summers there. Live there as an adult? I'll pass.
Born and raised here. Sixty years. We have an 83 percent Republicam supermajority in our legislature, all our representative and senators are Republican. Our governir is a Trump Republican. All of our state constitutional offices are held by Republicans. Desegregation here didnt happen here until the 1980s under Clinton. We have the fourth highest incarceration rate in the WORLD, and are solving it under our new governor by building a $500 million prison facility, eliminating parole release in some cases, and extending the time served before release in others. We dont do the abortion thing here. We are among the poorest states in the nation. One of the worst medical systems in the nation. Infant mirtality rate is very high. One of the highest crime rates in the nation. Near the bottom on education. Some of the lowest wages in the nation. And you dont even have to take my word for it. A few minutes research will show it, but i have lived it. It takes a fool or an idiot to move here, and bith to stay here, but yall come on down and see fer yerself. Wed be glad to have ye.

My childhood bestest friend in the world moved there. He loves it so much, I'm planning on joining him!
Oh yeah!
You can keep NWA. I am from SWA, and the only thing i would change would be the economy. There is more to Arkansas than the NW.
Amen! I too am from SWA and love it. Yes, the economy could be better, for sure. And the allergies thing is a real problem for some. And, there may be other problems for "city dwellers". But for those countri folks like me and my wife, life was good.We did our hunting in the bottomlands and our camping/exploring in the mountains (and fished in both). We usually camped in the Ouachita Mts. because they were far less commercialized. And it was always near water. The Cossatot, Little Missouri, Saline, and Ouachita Rivers mostly (the Cossatot was our favorite). Also, even though there are some nice State Parks, 90% of the time we went camping/fishing/hunting off the beaten trail. We have driven to a spot on the Cossatot and stayed for a week without seeing another person. As far as cities go, we basically avoided them (we do like Hot Springs area though). We never got into the biking thing (except on a motorcycle) but canoeing was a different story. There are many great canoeing rivers. But to each their own. I am just a small town country boy that grew up in a town of less than 800 and I would not trade my time in Arkansas for anything. (I do wish the Razorbacks would get it together and come up with better teams...both football and basketball. But we can't have everything, can we?)

Excellent video....it is key to remember that massive growth has never proven to be a good thing. Colorado, Arizona, Tenessee, Idaho, are but a few examples of the outrageous cost of living and increases and crime rates that follow growth. More people are murdered each year in Nashville than in Chicago....yet people continue to pour into Tennessee eliminating southern culture turning most of the state into Detroit. It would be very sad for that to happen to Arakansas.
Wow I didn't know Nashville passed Chicago in murders that's insane!
I had no idea that more people are murdered in Nashville than Chicago, then again, I here gunshots throughout the night almost every night and I'm a couple of miles outside of Nashville 😳
I’m concerned that that is happening to NW Arkansas right now- Bentonville in particular basically just needs a rolling population sign, it’s growing so quickly.
I am from Benton (not Bentonville!), pop approx 40,000, in Saline County (with a population of around 100,000 total)- less than 20 minutes SW of Little Rock, in central Arkansas. The Benton/Bryant area-basically the I-30 corridor through Saline County-is also a really great area with a lot of growth, and both the Benton and Bryant school systems are fantastic (I know Benton typically places in the top 7% of public schools nationally, and I would expect the same from Bryant.)
I am particularly pleased with the revival happening in old downtown Benton, my own neighborhood. (I grew up and still live in the same 1928 house my mother’s family moved into in 1944, about three blocks from the Saline County Courthouse. The houses in my neighborhood-you could pick them up and put them in the Heights/Hillcrest neighborhood in Little Rock-where they would fit in perfectly-and charge at least three times as much.) The downtown business district looks great, and is busy and booming-we’ve got several great restaurants, boutiques, etc. just in the little downtown area, and the surrounding residential area where I live has well-kept, beautiful older homes.
And it was Benton-not Bentonville- that made money.com’s list last year of 50 best places to live (in the US.) It was the only town in Arkansas on the list, as well as the most affordable on the entire list.
When did 101 murders (Nashville 2021) become more than 800 (Chicago 2021)?
That statement has been proven false your not the daddy

I'm from Hawaii but cost of living, while I'm doing pretty well for myself, has become borderline unbearable. I met a couple while on a cruise and during our conversation, I had mentioned how I expressed to my wife that as crazy as it sounds, we should move to the mainland. I have been to a bunch of states but I can't get past how rude people are (not all states I've been to). I told them that I wanted to move to a state that had something close to the Hawaii feel. A community feel. They smiled and with the most inviting tone suggested I come to Arkansas and that they'd love to have us there. It really got me thinking about it because the invitation seemed so genuine and the more I do research, the more I feel like my family would love it there.
We would love to have yall come here, before you call us up and we can give you our take on NW AR
@LIVING IN ARKANSAS We're definitely looking so if we do decide to make a trip to check it out, I'll definitely contact you.
Escaped from Houston, Texas to move here. Yes the people here are very nice and friendly. Come on down and sit a spell. Aloha to howdy.!!!
Yes great place, lots of nature and fun events....I'm in Benton and it's great with young kids
You'll definitely get a good bang for your buck as far as housing and property - even in Northwest Arkansas where property value is higher, it's still lower comparatively, especially from Hawaii. To me it has everything that I could want at an affordable price except the ocean. Have to make due with Rivers, Lakes and creeks - where there are plenty. I'm originally from Western New York and first moved here in 2004 for a few years and came back in 2016.
Moved to Vermont from Hot Springs AR, never going back. High Crime, high Drug, high poverty. I couldn't walk from work without being approached by children selling crack, or thugs trying to rob me. My porch getting shot up, crack house next door. Up here, like zero crime. No more red states for me. Fayetteville AR was beautiful and I had no problems there, my Mom lives there
I know the feeling, I left Hot Spring County (below Garland county where Hot Springs is located) in January for Maine. Never going back, got sick of the political polarization and crime.
Nothing to see here... go to Texas, Tennessee, or Florida outsiders! Yes it is a Red State and it will stay that way!
Thank you I'm scared it's gonna change
John 3:16
King James Version
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Born and raised in the Arkansas , would not want to live anywhere else. I live in Northeast Arkansas. Not to crazy about Northwest Arkansas as it is more liberal, especially Fayetteville area , but each to his own. No we dont use blinkers where I live because we know where everyone is going to turn.
Good people here. Dont like folks coming in and wanting to change things.
Also not a Wal Mart fan. Before Wal Mart , Wynne had a dowtown which were mom and pop stores , however they couldnt compete and soon closed. Downtown went into disrepair. When we had the mom and pop stores, we had customer service, however Wal-Mart killed that also. Not to mention the ugly holes Walmart makes when they decide to close a store and move. So that is my WalMart rant.
And now self checkouts are taking jobs. Isn't it great? 😒
I’m moving to Arkansas. Can’t wait.
It's a red state? Would you prefer Baltimore, Saint Louis, San Francisco, or Detroit?
Those are cities. Most cities are blue, like Little Rock and NWA is purple.
Almost entire state of Idaho moving there. Add in California. Texas. Nevada.
Nw Arkansas will be population over 500k in 5 years.
Will be ugly soon. Home prices beyond affordable.
Don't believe me? Ck bentonville. Already close to 100k and homes not available
Great! So I can still sell in 2 years and get out of this sh*hole without losing money !
Hello, you just mentioned the reasons why I will like to move to Arkansas
I immigrated from Zimbabwe to NWA. I love it but…..in the last 10 years the place has just exploded - houses and people - and with them has come crime 😔. It’s still cheaper than else where
NWA is becoming like California. The traffic is awful as they kept building homes but few new roads. At least they put a third lane on the I-49 bypass and you can now bypass Bella Vista if going into Missouri.
Grew up in Arkansas and it is a wonderful place to live and raise a family!! All my family still live there to this day. How can you know anything about Arkansas if you aren't from there??
Been here 13+ years and Wife is from AR... does that count?
This lady trying to Segway a #11 on the list. Lol
I have lived n Arkansas since I was 5 yrs old with a brief move to El Paso Texas when I was 12 during my parents divorce. We promptly moved back within 6 months. I wouldn't want to live ANYWHERE else n the world. And I've done a good deal of traveling.
I am surprised you didn't mention the bugs. That is one of the biggest memories I have from visiting Arkansas as a kid, lots and lots of bugs, mosquitoes, etc. I've only been during the summer, visiting with my father who was from Arkansas. Do the bugs come out during summer time only or is it an all year round thing?
Well, there are other videos that talk on that in particular
The bugs, mainly mosquitoes are a problem, but mostly in the real warm months. They aren't as big of a problem in the northern part of the state, but in the delta, where im from, they'll carry off small children lol.
the really bad thing is that you left out are # 1 Tornadoes then the ticks, chiggers, poisonous snakes, high humidity and yes it does get below freezing and sometimes to zero or below depending where you live, i lived in the Marshall area for a few year when i was in high school and the ticks and chiggers and snakes are everywhere tuff to really go hiking in the summer on small trails
All that is in some other videos too, can't hit every topic in one video
And golf ball size hail.
Oh geez! Guess you have never lived beyond AR
"No damn snow, thank God." I'm from Oregon, but moved here, so I get it.
People are not friendly in Arkansas. You say good morning or Hello and they ignore you or turn their head other way or look at you like a roach. At work I do say hello but the other person has to say good morning or hello first.
We have experienced different versions of AR
A few years back they made panhandling ok. So the law doesn't have to mess with the ones with the hands out. Hard to tell who really needs help. But something that really gripes me is all the 'foreigners' moving here that seem to want to make our great state just like the places they moved to get away from. They move in next door knowing there are chickens and horses right next to them. And then they start complaining and causing friction with the people who were already there. Resulting in ordinances roosters and hens. Before long we will be like California!
Panhandling is when someone in public walks up to someone and verbally asks for money, that is illegal. However, holding a sign on the side of the road on public property is legal, it has been since forever. It's freedom of speech. Although walking around in public like parking lots etc may be freedom of speech but they are doing it on private property and that is what panhandling is.
@@ROOSTERNEWTONJOHN in our state panhandling was illegal for a while. Standing on side of road with a sign was also. Then some judge made that ruling about violation of rights. Regardless of what it is called, they are many places where there is someone asking for a hand out on every corner of busy intersections.
That would be dreadful! Anyone doing that clearly didn't think the plan through. The idea of a rooster wake up call absolutely appeals - I hanker after country living
I hear ya, I live in the north, there has been a campground just outside of city limits for 6+ DECADES owned by the same family. People purchased the land beside the campground, built a huge home right next to the camping area and then complained because they claim they are allergic to smoke! Why on earth build a new home next door to a campground and then complain about smoke? Maddening, absolutely maddening!
Live on acreage on outskirts of Spokane because we got priced out in northern Idaho. My husband loves all the lakes and mountains for summer fun and snowboarding. Wondering since you lived in northern Idaho how was the adjustment? And why you left? Please share?!
traffic was fine before so many people moved in from outside. 30 years ago you could predict what a person was going to do in traffic. A lot of people have moved in from larger cities and bring metro driving mentality. A lot of "me first" attitude on the roads in NWA. I almost exclusively drive back roads just to avoid this.
otherwise, pretty good review. The emphasis on bikes seemed a little heavy. It's not quite that bad.
Californians move here and think they own the place. They leave cali because it is a completely out-of-control nanny state. Literally.
Then when they get here, they run for mayor and try to turn Arkansas into the same schidthole they just left!
They think they know better, and immediately assume the role of becoming our _'Betters.'_ 😬
Fugg that! 😶
Our new _'Cittee Slicker'_ mayor has put up thousands of stop lights, killing travel altogether. Not only are they not needed, they're ALL RED !!!
Now, instead of reaching your destination in 10 minutes, you're stuck at traffic lights on each block going nowhere for 30 extra minutes. And don't tell me it's a safety issue. That extra 30 minutes on the road makes you more vulnerable to accident, when i could be safely at home 30 minutes ealier, safely seated in my recliner drinking moonshine! (My recliner has never been rear-ended or T-Boned by drunk mexicans. Can't say that about my truck!)
And tell me our _'Cittee Slicker'_ mayor doesn't have a son-in-law in the traffic light business! 😶
Go back to the cement ponds you crawled out of. Sonsabitches! 😠
_NOTE : I didn't mean to sugarcoat this, but you don't wanna hear how I REALLY FEEL ABOUT IT._ 😠
Agreed on the bike segment, we arent the netherlands. Yes we host 2 international cycling events (joe martin stage race & world championship mtn biking) during those weeks there are cyclists everywhere. I would have mentioned bikes blues & bbq. Newbies should be aware that for a week 400,000 motorcyclists descend on this area and the rumblings are non stop for solid 4 to 5 days.
@@lildlo ugh I hated BBBBQ while I was going to the U of A... thankfully I lived and still do live in the river valley and just avoid NWA most of the time but especially during that week.
Cost for living around Bentonville Fayetteville ain't that cheap anymore like it used to be and it's going to keep going up too many Metro yuppies descending on the area Rogers Bentonville you got to stop every 10 ft always clogged medium size town with City traffic a lot of crappy dangerous roads if you don't work at a Walmart corporate office you probably shouldn't live in Bentonville it's very high
I live in Dallas and I hate the way people drive here. No matter how fast you are going over the speed limit, there's somebody always on your tail. Very aggressive and selfish drivers here.
14:05 You left out the bugs. Also extremely hot and humid summer days! There's more, but I will stop here.
Can't say everything in one video... Those are rough ones though... the bugs get me terribly
Over here in Northeast Arkansas in the Mississippi River Delta is like another state. In comparison with NW Arkansas... #wps
Yes it is, very different
I live in California currently, a haven for liberals, so Arkansas sounds like paradise. 😅 My brother in law lives in Arkansas, so we are considering a move to Little Rock. I work for Southwest Airlines, so I’d be able to transfer there. The small town vibe is exactly what I’m looking for, and I’m sure the traffic isn’t nearly as bad as California. I’ve driven in LA, San Francisco, and Sacramento (my current city). Hoping to make our move within the next few years.
I always use the Fort Smith airport. Small, nice and not crowded.
@@KG-kl9gc Agreed it is VERY nice.
I’m born a raised here in Arkansas. But I’m in the west central Arkansas in the northern edge of the the Ouachita Mountains.
Great area. I've had many good times in the Ouachita Mts. Much less commercialized and crowded than the NW areas.
Wow!, it sounds like a dream to me! I live in central TX, around the Waco area, and Lord Jesus the traffic is getting so bad, better say, HORRIBLE!!! We have all these Californians invading everywhere!!! And everything went to the roof (expensive) with these people! It is time for a move to quieter, peaceful areas.
Same, get me outta here lately with the Californians trying to make it blue.
@serenityholistichomestead also in this area, looking to move to the mountains. My entire thing is holistic homestead, so perhaps we'll both get the move & community we long for there. My grandparents, who passed a few years back, had property near Hot Springs. I'd love to get my whole family to transplant there.
Traffic is a nightmare here, now!
🔹Not as Red as Tennessee.
Im Blue and I love the state, Politics is Controlled by News Media.
🔹What others think is not my business.
🔹 Pollen time, go further West.
🔹Little Rock Airport is easy ...
🔹Walmart ... 😶
🔹Entertainment: Hirses, Dogs, and Festivals, Music.
🔹 There's more than NW Arkansas, way more.
🔹Bikes
🔹Winding Roads
🔹 Little Rock great roadways
🔹 Abundant in Natural
If it's negative don't move here. We don't appreciate those who move here and try to change us and our views. If you are not a conservative, don't move here as you won't like it over time. We are friendly and nice until you cross us.
that river and mountain at the beginning are definitely not is arkansas.
that mountain looks to be at least 3 times higher than mt. magazine
yeah, about 74 others have caught that
missed it in the edit, my bad
Lived here almost all my life, i have moved to different states but always came back.. NWA has exploded, no thank you, i can remember when all cities were small even Bentonville. Prairie Grove, Farmington was just a glimpse (you blink you miss them) lol
I left that area seven years ago as it was becoming too big city for me. Now south of Fort Smith in the sticks but 12 miles from all that I need in Greenwood.
@@muffs55mercury61 west fork is not too bad still. But I am currently in north central ark. Stay safe and warm in this crazy weather..
My mom was dying actually on this day in 2017, i could not make it there in time thanks to the flights , she was in Fort Smith area , best is to fly into OKLAHOMA and drive in depending where in AR your going , i have lots of family there but we all are originally from Hawaii , i hate guns and hunting , if you hunt eat it!!!!!!! any other hunting is just wrong , people don't spay and neuter their animals and so many suffer ,funny they can afford a carton of cigs but too cheap to fix their pets , its also way too humid for my taste , and the chewing of tobacco is gross , but better than smelling cigs ,there are no good restaurants they all suck , if you want to go to Whole foods or Sprouts you have to go to LIttle Cock, i haven't been to AR in years so maybe its changed who knows , id say the only thing i like about it is the nature
I’m moving to NWA next month from Salt Lake City, and I’m super excited! Definitely did not know a few of these things… But I think it’s going to be a great area for me.
Well hit us up and lets connect so we can help point you in the right direction of areas for what you like
I have been in arkansas for over half of my childhood and it sucks
Move then
Only problem I heard was the bikers 😂 Or tree pollen is kind of bad too. The places I’ve lived have had those, so no biggie. I’ve been more worried about the snakes and bears 😅
Absolute worst state in the entire nation. Bottom of the barrel in dozens and dozens of statistics. And it doesn't get better. How is that?
Then I recommend not moving here...
Good information. But moving up from Little Rock to here was an improvement. People here are much kinder, area is clean and there is no constant stinky skunk stench of weed (which is everywhere throughout Little Rock). And Rogers has the best Indian food 🥘
That putrid smell makes me want to throw up. I can't stand it.
Wouldn’t live anywhere else! I live in the country outside of Fayetteville and I love it.
Moving back after 18 years So Cal, I recommend Conway. NW Arkansas is great for weather, mosquito avoidance and other nuisance. Also Tornado alley is just west, but the high terrain vs flat plains make this ideal.
Little Rock connection needs more major fwy connection, but if I were up there I’d instead use 40 to Oklahoma City & connect Kansas City if needed for major flights given the drive to capital. Conway however is the great alternative, the stores, restaurants and shopping is on par with All secondary So cal cites I lived with half the population 3 times less traffic.
Yep. Conway is good. ❤
me and my wife live in San Diego and want to move here, we’re still going to school rn. any insight on the job market ?
I have properties available in Arkansas, could use some help selling them. Anyone interested just let me know we have lots starting at 1 thousand dollars. It's a beautiful place and let's try to keep it that way!!!!
What parts of the state are the properties?
Let me guess. Hot Springs Village lots.
An Arkansas Perspective:
I'm a Democrat, not a fanatic on it, but still left of center. I'm the only person in my town of 700 to vote Blue. Yet I love my neighbors like family, and I know I can depend on them like family, no matter my views. We aren't defined by politics. And as a Native American, I havent been in a church since bubble gum came along. Nobody really cares. We all choose our own path, in the end.
As a senior citizen, I get treated with respect everywhere. I've had 8 year olds hold the door of a business, before running to catch up with friends. And you'll notice folks smile a lot. Not those pasted on empty glamor smiles of the unhappy rich, but smiles that include the eyes, that are real.
So if a couple of your neighbors are blocking both directions of traffic on a backroad while they talk, stop back far enough so they know you're not crowding them, and refresh your coffee from the thermos. They won't be long, and they'll know "you get it".
And most importantly, don't judge a book by its cover. I know a fellow that could buy Mar-a-Lago, and he drives a 97 Ford Ranger, wears bib overalls, and drinks Busch Beer. We tend to just be ourselves, without all the window dressing of lies that passes for high society.
Real Country & Real People!
I'm straight on leftist and proud progressive though not like the extreme's the right always make talking points on. I find a moderate or progressive every so often even now living in the River Valley which is probably more conservative than NWA. But hell my BFFs from New York (Western) are far right conservatives. Friends I met here, when they start the religious right and conservative talk, I just say it's time for me to leave. And I do.
Being conservative is a GOOD THING vs. the craziness in the USA. I would say if you have very liberal views, go to NW Arkansas or Little Rock. Most of us don't want people to bring their liberal views (or votes) in our state.
Love the greenery and the flowering trees but there are people who will party right outside your door if you live in Fayetteville AR in the College town.. especially if your living in an apartment...As for me this is what happened to me also they'd be out there 1-4 am talking on their phones as well as drinking 🍻 then I'd you ask them kindly to chill and respect your trying to go to sleep they try and pick a fight with you also the humidity is horrible... when I first moved there I had my life threatened with a gun...
Arkansas wasn’t always a red state. Bill Clinton was governor here for years before he ran for president. And guns were never taken away from the state. And I live here in Arkansas and I know in Covid we did wear mask. And I did see the long lines for people were getting their shots. Two things that I don’t like about Arkansas, but I still love the place is, the pollen and the humidity.
I use to live in Coeur D Alene Idaho… and you are right. I’m not a Republican or Democrat, but It seems they all get along in Arkansas. Live and Let live… that’s what I see in Arkansas. Love this state!
I'm from Moscow Idaho area and now in Mena, AR area. Politics was very tiring around the Moscow area with the two universities close by to all the rural farmers. Spiritually heavy too, if that makes any sense. I really enjoy Arkansas that reminds me of the beauty of Idaho but feels better for my family.
bullshit if you're not a republican you're screwed. I moved from Arkansas to Maine in January and I don't miss Arkansas.
So 1 and 2 are pros. Airport can be fixed once demand for flights go up. 5 is great, no woke education that usually ranks higher. 6 is not a problem. 7 is a pro, tourism brings money to the economy. 8 could be the one big negative, but if you have trails is not that invasive. 9 is a pro not a con, farm living rules!!!!! 10. Traffic is bad everywhere….
The only thing I found different in Arkansas was how unfriendly people are in Fayetteville. Say "good morning" and they just stare. Also the so-called healthcare professionals aren't so much about providing healthcare, more about the billing and even more so than other places that I've lived in the recent past.
Fayetteville has a lot of transplants. Natives aren't usually that way for the most part. I left that area seven years ago as it was turning into California and a lot of attitudes like that ("we want your business but don't need it") had been cropping up. Still in Arkansas but over 100 miles away from that mess.
@@muffs55mercury61 Another common problem it seems!! Transplants bringing social arrogance with them.... California was more friendly when I was a kid- now, there are people moving in that just seem to hate, and be snobby...
Healthcare is not good in Arkansas. They have a shortage of medical staff and doctors. Fayetteville does have excellent oncologists though.
On my little one block street off E Zion, there are only 7 houses. Only one family on this street is from Fayetteville. The rest - northern California, one from Germany, one Chicago. Me, New Orleans. I don't feel like I'm in arkansas. My sister moved here years ago and married a local. She's a fancy schmancy real estate agent. I don't think she sleeps, always on her phone selling houses to people moving here. I miss New Orleans
That's healthcare across the board I think. Fast food style now days.
Roast in the summer.. freeze in the winter I've been here since 2019.. I've been putting up with it for years now.. LoL I'd rather be here than in NY state a friend said that they have snow up to the roof..
Didn't live in northwest ar, we lived in Hot Springs, it's basically the same. We loved it down there
The masks did literally nothing for disease transmission anyway.
NOPE! Amazing how many I still see wearing them SMH
Nothing on your list was a turn off for me
a RED state ❤️
All that is Why I LOVE ❤️ Arkansas 🙂
You general too much, NWA schools are not the same as the rest of Arkansas. I grew up in Michigan and moved here in 1988. I would never go back to Michigan, it is so much better here.
Consume local honey. That will help with allergies.🍯
Love the airport but yes wish there were more direct flights.
Traffic suuuuucks! Especially in Bentonville.
There are a lot of transplants from other cities so the ideas are becoming more diverse.
Will do thanks
ARKANSAS may be red, but NW Arkansas is BLUE. It’s the college area and full of snobby democrats
