The name Arkansas comes from the French pronunciation of a Quapaw (an Indian tribe) word, which means "land of people living downstream". The debate was officially established in 1881 by a decision of the federal state - based on the pronunciation of French and Italian immigrants.

I moved to arkansas from texas years ago and i could never go back. This region of arkansas truly is like waking up in a fantasy world. And im so glad you got to see the sunset over the mountains. It never fails to be amazing even in deep storms. If you ever swing through arkansas again. I suggest a few places.
    Jack creek
Petit jean waterfall (requires a little hike but it feels like mother nature holding your hand and showing you what beautify actually is)
And fishing and camping at the white/buffalo river resort. Jack creek is a beatiful massive cliff face you can climb and dive from into the deep mountain spring river. Petit jean waterfall is one of the most amazing falls in the whole state. And the white/buffalo river resort is amazing to either travel along for sightseeing, or fish for trout. Ive never caught less than 5 legal trout in a day when i went. And half the time i let them go because the experience of being there is almost enough to feed you without the fish. Even then the trout are always plump amd healthy, great seared, stewed, or smoked.

To be fair: it was not my research that took me to all these places. This guy I met at the gas station (who I unfortunately didn’t film) gave me all these suggestions - and it’s very rare that I meet someone who really exactly suggests me things that I want to see and roads that I enjoy riding. It’s as if he made the script for this episode and I just had to follow it (the only thing I found myself was the campground 😅😅😅

Danke ! Very relaxing to watch your videos, thank you for that, most travel videos in America (by Americans) I cannot watch, like much of the TV. Yours are simple, real, and unadulterated with excellent photography and a connection to the natural world. I married a Texan here in Colorado, whose hillbilly relatives named Jedaloo and Redaloo (no joke) came from Arkansas and he often says how beautiful it is there - or was, back then (most of the planet has lost its soul due to tourism and human gluttony) so who knows now has it has changed, or how much. It looks somewhat still untouched, yet I would have to feel the spirit in the land, if it's still well and truly alive. Im a gypsy soul, born in NZ, been travelling the world since I popped out of the divine oven as many downunder's do, for many years, and exactly like you was searching for Arkansaw for days and then finally said to my hubby, err "Do they call Arkansas Arkansaw" 😁 I see no answers here to our shared dilemma! Keep flying wild and free, that's all we take with us in the end! Tschuss 🌅💟🍀 Sally Jane !
