Great Review Chris. I’ve never tried this shoe it seems like a good 5k shoe. Congratulations on your 5k time of 18:25 you were rocking it. Thanks for sharing!!
You're right - never heard of that shoe. I am not a big shoe geek but still surprised. I am just recovering from my last race, and about to start a 5km PB training block - I am very happy with the endorphin pro - hope I can PB without needing a new shoe...
Over the 5k you just need a shoe that’s light and you can get the power down. I remember trying to run a mile time trail in my Nike tempo next%, spent most of my time in the air. Best of luck with your training
Congrats on your new PB, that's an awesome time and 1st place to boot! 👍😊 A little gobsmacked that your PB has come in these shoes 😮 I have had a pair of the 361 Flame since the first few days that they were released in the UK, it was my first carbon plated shoe (must be a good 18 months ago now). Like you say, they do feel lighter on the foot than they are and they are a quick shoe. I have never used mine for an all out parkrun (possibly due to my peroneal injury and my most local parkrun not having the most even of surfaces). Never tried them in a race either. Do use them for interval seasions (actually wore them for a good session yesterday and got down to about 5:40 mi/mi pace on one of the splits). I have 276 miles on mine and they are still wearing well - great outsole. I have clocked some decent 16 mile training runs in them too but don't think that I would ever want to take them further than that as they are a little firm. Great shoes though!!
Well done Chris, great PB! I’d recommend sticking the INOV-8 boomerang footbed insoles in them if you have some (I think they are in most recent inov-8 shoes) but you can buy some direct from their website for about £25 I think!
Thanks Chris👍 Funny enough I’m hopefully getting soon insoles in to review soon. I don’t know why companies put the thinnest insoles in their shoes…weight saving over comfort I suppose
I’d be intrigued to see if this shoe would make a difference to my 5k PB when I’m not at all fast or a short distance runner. Congrats on the win! Back next week to defend the title. When are you running Guildford park run?
Well done. Great run. It seems the 361 Flame only goto a UK 11 so am well out there. They do look similar to a Vaporfly NEXT% v1 but presume must “run” differently as recall you did not get on with them.
That’s a shame Tim. Much firmer than the next% and great heal support seeing as the insoles sit lower than the foam on the sides. I knew it was going to be a fast shoe but wasn’t expecting that. And way can’t brands get laces and insoles right
@@ThatRunningGuy and sizes! I sometimes cut my laces and seal the ends with a match. Having narrow feet they nearly always long for me but those did look very long.
@@ThatRunningGuy yeah ASICS especially can be a mystery. Metaspeed Sky was so small in a 12 I could barely get my foot in and that was biggest. Novablast on other hand feels a bit long.
Just a quick bit of advice if possible im looking for a light carbon plated shoe for 5k and 10k distance can see you have tried a couple including the sauconey.. What would u say is the best option to go for? Got some Alphaflys but sending back due to the bad wear on the rear foam sole of shoe. Thanks Ben
I also sent my VAPORFLY’s back due to quick wear on the rear. Sounds like you’re a heel striker. If that’s the case, I’d go with the endorphin pro 2. Also from feedback from others they’ve been impressed with the speed 2
@@ThatRunningGuy 1st I had the tempos next% loved them done 150 miles in them perfect... I then bought the Alphafly. Done a half marathon in them up to only 40 miles in them now the wear on the soft foam part really bad dont think they will last.. Nike will refund so just thinking what to replace them with basically... Love the shoe Find them lighter than the Tempos and fly when u put the gas on just not durable for my running style sadly so goin back.. Have considered the vapor fly but think might get same issue with them... I remember your video a while back.. You had similar sort of issue as myself.
@@benrosser893 love the tempo next%, have 2 pairs. Just retired one pair at 350 miles. Because I heel strike when I get fatigued I find zoom x in the vaporflys to be to soft, plus I took a chunk out of the rear after only 25 miles. Also sent back and got a refund. Had previously been racing in the tempo next% and zoom fly 3’s as needed the extra support of the react foam. Plus only used Nike shoes. The pro 2’s are made of a similar material as zoom x but way more supportive. Love the rocker feel in them and feel effortless. I’m a uk11 in Nike and also In the pro 2’s
@@ThatRunningGuy What about the training you've been doing prior to the previous 5k? Maybe it's just kicking in :) Also the previous race helps with fitness :) They say it takes 7-10 days to benefit from a hard short workout.

Thanks. I knew it was quick but wasn’t expecting that👍
Awesome 5k PB Chris! You are really getting fit! I love seeing new brands and models for moving quickly! Interesting shoe here! Keep pushing!
Thanks Paul👍 This shoe really surprised me.

BRAVO Chris!!! How fun for you!!!! 🥇🥇🥇
Thank you 😊 I knew that shoe felt quick but wasn’t expecting that 👍
Congats on your PB, Chris! Interesting shoe.
Cheers 👍
Pleased for you Chris, well done. Shoes look amazing
Thanks Michael, definitely worth checking out
Oooooo tempting!! 👍🏻
Amazing 5k effort by the way
Since I’ve change the inner sole and laces it’s 👌
Good review Chris, I have seen of the brand before and good to see some positive reviews on them, Great work on your 5k!!
👍 it’s so easy to right of a shoe when sometimes all it needs is an insole change. Transformed the shoe

Thanks for your feedback Mark, good to now about the wear (mileage). Once I changed the insoles they were much more comfortable.
Congrats on the win 🏅 that’s awesome 👏

Wow. Amazing results!! Congratulations to you but also, this shoe looks amazing. I have to check if they ship in the US
Thanks Suzie, there’s a store finder on their website. Link in the description
Amazing run Chris… wow 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 glad you like the new daps 😎.
Cheers David👊 The shoes are 😚👌
Congrats on the W!
👊
Cracking run Chris👍 Thanks for sharing the shoes, interesting
Thanks Henry👍 i know it was fast but not by that much!
Sir, would u please tell me that which model u will give the first priority for half marathon speed run, Saucony endorphin pro-2 or 361 Flame?
Endorphin pro 2
hello, cool review are they soft?
I’d say medium/firm. Also great if you have any slight stability issues. New version is the flame RS (also reviewed)
1st place too, great work! Did anyone ask about the shoes?
Thanks Steven👊 know one asked about them

Thanks Dan👍 I’m sure they would. Only got a month before I move🤔
Planning to buy this as my first carbon running shoe, is this also good for marathon or half marathon races?
For me I’d only use it for 5-10k’s. On the longer distances I prefer more cushioning
Try the vapourfly next week and see if you go even faster?
Would of I own a pair! Sent them back after only 25 miles as didn’t get on with them. Caused an injury

Does it wore down fat due to the thin outsole?

Hard to say if it's only the shoes or if your body is now assimilating the races/training you've been doing. Great race, though!
Thanks 👍 Only 1 week later run 22 seconds quicker, it’s got to be the shoes
