I Grew up going to this in zoo since childhood I still go here till this day.
How much has the zoo changed from when you we're a kid?
In 1990, we voted on a permanent 1/8th cent sales tax to fund the zoo. I don't know many zoos out there that can say that. It was so worth it. They are constantly building new exhibits. I always love going back because there is always something new to see. I love our zoo.
A community that helps to fund it's zoo will have a great zoo. It's nice to see the Oklahoma City Zoo has a community that cares.
I love the zoo! So thankful and a big part of my life! I will continue to visit as long as my Lord says so. It's my happy place! I love all animals ❤️. Keep up the good work at the Oklahoma City Zoo!
We go to the Oklahoma zoo every time we go we live only 3 hours away so we go alot love it there
You have a great zoo nearby, I really enjoyed my visit.
Good job. We went a couple of days ago, It's a good zoo. Tram is open....water area splash pad is open.
It's good to hear things are starting to open up further. Thanks for the updates and glad you enjoyed the tour.
Thanks for the field trip. My students enjoyed it.
That's Great, I'm glad to hear you all enjoyed my tour.
Great video Tom. Thanks for sharing. Zoo looks amazing & fun!
Thank You Sean, I appreciate that. I'm glad you enjoyed my tour, it was a great zoo.
Such a great Zoo underated I think. Really happy you toured it
I really enjoyed the OKC zoo. Natural looking habitats and a nice selection of animals.
I don't know it was Parents Magazine top 5 best zoo in the US in 2005 or 2006.
i live in Yukon its the only zoo i have been to i haven't seen any other zoo except i almost got the chance to go to joe exotics zoo 😂
its not underrated ITS HUDGE I SEE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE and the parking spots are always full its the most popular zoo in Oklahoma City and the only zoo for yukon citizens to go to sadly
@@ladyegg8441 it's the only zoo in OKC.
I went to the OKC zoo a couple days ago and fed the giraffe's ☺️
Very nice, the feeding wasn't available the day I went.
@@TomsRoadTrippin it was fun! ☺️
I HAVE BEEN TO THAT ZOO FOR YEARS AND NEVER SEEN A GIRAFFE IN MY LIFE Im going tomorrow though
I did too
Was the reptile house petting zoo and the two indoor exhibits that have the ostriches but is called pachyderms that’s the one with all the birds too and the cranes that have the indoor and outdoor exhibit and was the Oklahoma nightlife exhibits in the Oklahoma trails open also was the train and carousel open
All indoor buildings, petting/ touch areas were closed. Also no train ride either.
One of our red pandas at the okc zoo only has 3 legs but she still climbs and walks good shes absolutely adorable
Animals are remarkably resilient and adapt well missing a limb. Glad to hear the red panda is doing well 😊
come back to Oklahoma City Zoo for their brand new EXPEDITION AFRICA Exhibit
Perhaps next year, I'd like to see the new area.
I live in Moore so it’s just about a 25 minute drive I’ve been here sooo many times I can navigate through with my eyes closed
That's a fine zoo to frequent 😊
@@TomsRoadTrippin oh yes, many great memories there, and hopefully more to come! Once corona goes away 🤞
Hopefully it starts to get better soon.
Did you see the African painted dog
Yes, they were in the vid
Hope you come back through late this summer. Covid precautions have been relaxed and the newest exhibit will be open
I'll look into it, Thanks for the update.
I can’t wait for the pachyderms to be reopened
Good video vist the Bronx zoo its 266 acres of more than 8,000 animals of 680 speicies and has the largest collection of rodents in the world and have the largest collection of gorillas in the world and the nicest habitat for them
Your definitely a fan of the Bronx Zoo 😊
Yep
I have autism and love planning things out and knowing what's going to happen beforehand, and this does just the job!! thanks so much :) Do they have handheld maps?
Most zoo's weren't handing out maps at this time. If they still aren't handing out paper maps the zoo has map stations all around. The zoo's website has a map you can use to plan your day, I'm glad my tour helped you out too. I hope you enjoy my other zoo tours.
@@TomsRoadTrippin ohhh alright!! thank you! :)

Looks like a fantastic zoo especially Sanctuary Asia. Btw the big monkeys you saw are Spider Monkeys.
You should visit Arizona to see the Phoenix Zoo and Out of Africa Wildlife Park.
I wasn't sure if they were spider monkey, thanks. I'll add those zoo's to my list.
@@TomsRoadTrippin Can't wait. It looks like a very nice zoo!
My favorite zoo.
Lots of fun here, I really enjoyed it
Great zoo
Yes it was 😀
You need To go to Minnesota and go to the como and Minnesota zoos
I'll add it to my list, thanks
I used to go to that zoo when I was little, I went to the pachyderm building to see elephants, rhinos, and the pygmy hippopotamus, and went to the Noble Aquatic center aquarium to lots of sea life. But now the aquarium isn't there anymore 😢 because the animals there went to other AZA zoos across the USA.
Thanks Duncan, I hope my tour brought back some good memories.
So happy to see you again
Thank You, I'm sorry I couldn't go places for awhile. Glad to be back 😊
You may think the Okapi is related to a zebra due to it’s zebra stripes on it’s backside and back legs but the Okapi is the only relative to the giraffe because of their blackish purple tongue.
Fun fact… the male and females lions were in nearly the exact same position yesterday as they were in your video (2years + later) 😂😂😂
WoW, I knew Big Cats slept a lot but I had no idea they slept for 2 years 😀
I went to it last year and I loved it
I had a fantastic time 😃
Did you see Ringtail?
I honestly don't recall, been too long since I was there.
Souvenir hat = check !
Refill cup = check !
Yup, that's a Tom's video XD
Impressive visit ..
The zoo look pretty big and the price are nice. all the animals look great and they have super nice habitats.
Great zoo :D thanks for the visit ! awesome !
The white Tanuki !! :O that's crazy ! soo cute !
Interresting fact : did you knew the flamingo feed their childs with milk ?
Obviously its not a milk like cow or else, but its crop milk that they produce and feed their small with using their beak :D (same goes for penguin too)
You really know my vids Frank 😁 Thanks for those interesting facts too.
Was there a lot of bugs there? I have a huge fear of bugs especially spiders and wasps. And I am going tomorrow for my cousins birthday.
i sub to you
Thank You
You should also visit the Mesker park zoo in Evansville Indiana
I'll add it to my list, thanks for the suggestion.
Yeah the mesker

You can go now
@@arlenepulido4325 Thanks for the update
Which Oklahoma Zoo Do You Like Better Oklahoma City or Tulsa?
They both have a great variety if animals. The OKC zoo was better with their layout.
Will you be posting videos every Thursday?
For the most part, Yes. Thursday is the day I add new vids to the channel. I'll be on the road for 10 days next week, so there won't be a vid that week.
When is the oaklahoma aquarium video coming out what the the Tulsa zoo video what the aboundon zoo video and the Little Rock zoo video
The Oklahoma Aquarium is out Now 😁
Wait... U went 2 the Little Rock Zoo Tom
@@treys1607 no he hasn’t gone to the Little Rock zoo yet
@@peytonedwards9387 oh
Also did you know they just opened a new Africa Exhibit/Predator Pass
I really love it when zoos build new areas, especially when they add new animals. When a community supports their local zoo, good things happen.
u should've went to that restaurant near the elephants it is soo good and close to THE RED PANDA (i named him tiny tim)
I honestly don't recall where I ate that day
Atlanta Oklahoma zoo
What does that mean? 😕
Thank you was the reason why I asked is because the signage for the giraffe didn’t say that subspecies
I know, some of the signs on the habitats weren't clear about the type of the animals.
Do you have a Facebook or a Twitter account
Not right now
What subspecies was the giraffe
The were reticulated giraffe
im going tomorrow im exited i want to see the red panda i really wanted to see snakes and the big boi turtles though i hope when i go it will be open (other room and other types of snacks) the sting rays and baby sharks are soft though (don't say the sting ray bay doesn't have sharks they do but i think they got rid of them they are not big sharks they are small like SMALL)
I hope you have a great time. I also hope the other exhibits will be open.
Hi
Hello 😃
I’m a fan I live in Oklahoma
They have a other park a Lego area a sea lion show and a sea lion shop
they were fixing alot of the animals enclosures so the last time i went i barely saw any
It's always a good thing when a zoo updates animals habitats. It means they care about their well-being.
Please let me know when you’re going to the Sacramento zoo, San Francisco zoo, Oakland zoo, happy hollow park and zoo, Safari west, six flags discovery kingdom, Monterey bay aquarium, morro bay aquarium sea quest Folsom and the Folsom city zoo sanctuary
That's quite a list there. Not sure when I'll be back on the west coast but I'll add em to my list.
The reason why I asked isn’t because I live close to the Sacramento zoo Folsom city zoo sanctuary, sea quest and my cousins live close to the happy hollow park and zoo,
I forgot to add 6 zoos to that list they are the 7 Bryan’s wildlife preserve the sequoia park zoo San Diego wild animal park the Los Angeles zoo , the Orange County zoo the Santa Ana zoo and the Santa Barbara zoo
There’s also the Santa Fe college teaching zoo and the morepark college teaching zoo
You should visit the Cincinnati zoo or literally any zoo in Ohio!
As a matter of fact, I'm going to Ohio next week to visit all the zoo's.
this time i will because it's been a year
I saw lots of animals, be sure to go back if you don't see them the 1st time.
Did you know that they are planning to add Penguins in 2027
That'll be a nice addition, do you know which type?
@@TomsRoadTrippin African I think
@@treys1607 those are far easier to house as they don't require snow machines
@@TomsRoadTrippin you are right about that
What zoo are you going to next
The Oklahoma Aquarium is next vid
Tom's Road Trippin and when is that video going to be posted
Do you have a website of all the zoos that you are going to this year or do a list that tells the people that are watching your videos so that they know all the zoos that you are going to this year
Plz check my community tab on my channel, I post all updates there.
U SAW A REDDD PANDDAAAA TINY TIMMMMMMM YAYAAYAYAYAY MAH BB YAAAAS

Did you know their last Hippopotamus got euthanized and they turned the Pachyderm House into and Aquarium
That's interesting, an aquarium is always a nice addition to a zoo.
