I read this as "Oh, baby bizly fans are eating good tonight (it's mud)" and I fully thought we were just babies shoveling mud into out mouths for a hot second.
some people say stealth is boring cause it's usually a lot of waiting and it's very slow at times, but that's personally what i love about it. as someone with ADHD, i like that stealth games basically FORCE ME to balance aggressive with patience. you need to make a move at the correct time, but once you do initiate a move you have to commit and be fast that said, i love Dishonored with all my heart and the entire point of that game is to bypass the waiting in stealth. the enemy won't go away? teleport past him, pause time, possess him to walk in front of all his friends and the throw a grenade at the entire group
The fact that you don’t mention Styx: Master of Shadows or Styx: Shards of Darkness makes me think you haven’t played those games and all the stuff you do mention makes me think you’d like them, like, a lot. Basically they’re as close to new thief games as we’re ever likely to get, but with an added layer of verticality that really complicates the level design (in a good way).
Yo, I thought I recognised you! Your animations are so good!!! And I agree, I've been getting extremely into JRWI and all the creators in general (Bizly, Charlie, etc.) And Bizly's videos are awesome
I think in terms of stealth game vs. stealth section I think a really obvious and easy way to add good optional stealth to games is to have the base mechanics available for stealth, and then give the player the option to either like, brute force through a smaller barracks to set up and be more powerful for confronting villain HQ or spend the resources they already have on stealth gadgets instead of weapons so they can skip straight to the main event and sneak past all the danger
I’ve been loving the turn your channel has taken, and your writing for these videos is very effective and engaging. I don’t even play video games that take much more RAM than four chrome tabs would, but I still enjoy seeing your perspectives on them

I’m happy he did too! Playing it right now as I’m watching this video and it caught me off guard when he mentioned it. The series is heavily underplayed
You didn't mention 1998 game Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, which laid the foundation of it's own genre of Commandos-like RTS stealth games (Commandos and Desperados series, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun game). It had 2 level vision cones, one for standing position and one for crouching position. It had decoys. It had hiding the bodies mechanic. It had elememts of social stealth with the spy character. On the missions with snow or sand enemies could notice your tracks and follow them.
Banger vid Bizly. 10/10 would subscribe (again) if I could. Your video essay style stuff is freaking fantastic and addictive, and the editing is getting cleaner and more dynamic each time. You rock.

The editing style you chose works perfectly with my constant need for visual stimuli, I appreciate it. (Also why was Tidalwave in the gallery explain yourself)
theif is probably one of my favorite games because it was such a large part of my childhood and i used to play it with my dad. we just finished all of the games recently and seeing you talk about it made me so incredibly happy because i have never seen anyone else who’s played it (to be fair i don’t have many gamer friends). thief is such a genuinely good game series with an entrancing plot and great gameplay. EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY IT!!!
I absolutely loved the way the arkham games handle stealth. While I'm very biased I think they got a lot of things right, like the option for a quick but loud takedown, isolated strikes so that enemies won't get jumpy or just the terror factor changing enemy behaviour. I'm a sucker for stealth so I might try dishonored if it's as good as bibo says.
The Arkham games have really good enemy ai for stealth where it feels you’re going against thugs who know how Batman operates and not just complete goobers who can’t see 2 feet in front of them and deaf
New viewer here since the Star Wars tier list, your editing is fantastic! Really enjoy the presentation of the videos, really look forward to more! One of my new favorites my dude😈
One of my favorite stealth games of all time will always be MGSV. While story wise it was one of the worst, it's gameplay is just straight up incredible. The amount of tools at your disposal is just mindblowing. Their reactions and behaviour so realistic, the way they cordinate, regroup ect. Not to mention their late game counters and own progression. It feels like they are trying to one up you. It also succeeds in doing something Dishonored fails, convincing me to take the non-lethal approach. Lets be real, the most fun gadgets/powers in stealth games are the lethal ones. So it saddened me that the ending in dishonored is depending on your play style. It feels like a punishment and i don't like that. MGSV however, rewarded you for being a good boy, instead of punishing for being a bad boy. The reason why you don't kill everything in sight in MGSV is because of the motherbase system. You need to "recruit" enemy soldiers in order to progress your motherbase. Which meant you yourself had an actual interest in utilizing a non-lethal takedown method, because if you don't then how are you gonna ged that new cool gadget. While there was also a honor sytem it was not as damning as in Dishonored and was even in late game pretty changable.
While I understand where you’re coming from, the whole idea behind the dishonored morality system is the sacrifice of power in service of the greater good. It fully intends for you to play the game lethal because that is a common tendency of people. Where gameplay is concerned, the high chaos runs are far more enjoyable and that seems to me on purpose. It’s their way of saying “doing wrong is always more fun and easy. Doing the right thing is often much harder and less fun but ultimately leads to a more satisfying end”. MGSV goes hard btw lmao
@basedlander7836ehh not really MGSV doesn't really punish you for killing people outside of getting lower heroism (the honor system of mgsv) however you can avoid it by just headshoting people and the only real thing that low heroism does is giving you demon snake which just makes snake's horn big and makes him covered in blood 24/7 but it isn't really that big of a deal since demon snake really gives you nothing outside of just soldier reactions and that's it
@@coreycasciano3255 Nah. Even without Konami the plot was pretty lame. The whole thing about psychological clone of Big Boss or parasites feels like Kojima didn't know what to tell and just started to milking the franchise. Skull Face is pretty bad villain too.
Styx: Shard of Darkness is a pretty great stealth game in my opinion. Little janky, but it’s worth it. Going stealth and not being caught as well as optionally not killing anyone for more points are things that stood out to me for certain
I am a really big dude, but as a kid I sneaked a lot so now as an adult I can move around silently and unseen. The only thing I use this for is scaring the shit out of my family by suddenly enormous fucker.
Best stealth game I've ever played is Aragami. You play as a shadow ninja dude who teleports through shadows and gets hurt by light, and you can do cool things like use gadgets, paint shadows on the ground, turn other people into shadows so nobody finds their corpse etc and it's just really damn good. Very similar to Dishonored with it's teleporting and stuff. Anyway I really recommend it. Idk about the sequel Aragami 2, but the first one is awesome.
Just wanted to say that this was a well put together video dude. You sure know your stuff with the stealth genre, and the way you put together this video is nothing short of amazing. I appreciate you spreading the love for the sneak em ups 🤝🏻
Man, Dishonored is so good, please make a whole video just gushing about how good that game is, and maybe talk about 2 and Death of the Outsider, I just want more Dishonored discussion and love out there!
I’m new, but I really enjoy these type of videos, and I know I’ll be rolling up to each of these in the future since I love games and game culture, and the analysis of it is both interesting and important to me. Great work, these things look very difficult to make (and I study physics lmao)
Thief The Dark Project was my first experience with stealth gaming and it is still my at the top of my list of favorite games ever. In fact, after playing a demo I soon went and bought it. I really miss that game. It's wild to think that a game from 1998 is much more open-ended and less linear than the 2014 reboot.
The one solution to semi-tall grass stealth I know is a small part of MW2's campaign, where you pretty much have to lay on the ground, perfectly still as a group of gaurds walk past, and if you move too much or one walks too close, you get lit up like a christmas tree
I love these videos sm. instead of the video game reviews telling me what I should like or complaining about how the graphics are shit, it sounds like he’s genuinely passionate about these games and wants to talk about the strengths and weaknesses. With the added bonus of comedy and amazing editing it feels like you’re talking to someone instead of being in a heated argument
I am a big fan of video essays, in particular video game themed essays. As a small time indie dev I always love conversations about games, genres, and everything in between. I will be checking your backlog, but if you keep making videos of this quality I have high expectations that your channel will grow. This video was very well done, informative, and entertaining. Well done, and I look forward to seeing more.
For the most part, I completely agree. Stealth can be so special, or it could be needlessly OP, or it could be just garbage in implementation. It's ultimately all about how it is done. I do want to throw in one more variable that I think can make a more conducive and dynamic experience: Enemy Intelligence. I love in a game when the different NPC builds make an actual difference when stealthing. Dumb Dumb enemies missing what an Brainiac would catch can make such an intriguing game play dynamic. The rock throw may distract the orc, but the elf may notice where it came from instead. Just something I've noticed, but I think it is cool (in theory).
I hope this guy has played Hitman: World of Assassination in the last year since this video. Greatest trilogy of games ever made and the biggest innovator in modern stealth

Tons of folks are pointing out the fantabulous editing but I want to specifically compliment all of the fun lighting changes on you as you place yourself in all the different environments, really puts that aspect of the editing on the next level!
I'm glad I actually watched this instead of just listening. Your editing is really good. Dishonored is basically the perfect game. Part of the reason the stealth is so good in my opinion is because blink massively boosts both the pace and freedom.
My favorite stealth game has got to be Splinter Cell Conviction, whenever you’d hide in shadows, the game goes to black and white, which I love because it adds to the fear factor to your enemies, they can’t see you.
I sat there so eagerly waiting for the Dishonored callout and was so glad to hear it when it showed up. Its got to be one of my favorite stealth games of all time. Excellent video.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was a very neat Stealth experience which i didn‘t suspect at all when beginning to play. Gotta love that freedom of immersive sims.

This dude is my favorite youtuber already and i cant believe he just started
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was a very neat Stealth experience which i didn‘t suspect at all when beginning to play. Gotta love that freedom of immersive sims.

I wasn't aware nakeyjakey and jschlatt had a kid together
(but it's a compliment)
I love this dude, He's like the Jack black and James Pumphrey of gaming videos
so glad u brought up THEIF!! those games r the GOAT of stealth games for me, from the sound design, gadgets, dont get me started on how different floor types affect ur stealthiness, and general over arching story of the setting it just so enrapturing :D
I was scrolling twitter and suddenly missed Bizly so here I am and it's great

I knew you were the dog, you just got that dog in you
Never in a million years would I have expected to encounter another video game channel that could be of my liking as much as this one!! The comedy in these videos is SWEEEEET and really helps you communicate with such ease and interest. Really good work, my friend, keep it up!
I totally agree with everything you've said. Let's hope that game developer listen to you!
I would be willing to bet that _Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath_ was the first game to feature hiding in tall grass as a hiding/stealth mechanic.
I first found you watching jrwi, and I love you content, keep up the good work your doing awesome.
Very glad I can be known for more than just the one thing, appreciate you!
You have some of the best humor out of everyone I watch
That intro was actually insane, top compliments.
this guy has the best sense of humor that ive ever seen in a yt creator!
I love this new format for your videos, I’m addicted to the Jerry Seinfeld stand up mic.
Catchphrase of the day: Stay sizzling schnitzels.
Hearing Bible thump talk about dishonored really helps us see why chip exists
i havent played many stealth games (if any) but bizly videos are convincing me to try new games and get out of my comfort zone so i might just have to look into dishonored hehehe
