I just bumped into this channel in the last few days and I wanted to say 'Thank you'. I love the passion and the knowledge. I am grateful for the glimpse into your routine, before and after the run. Thank you and gz on the year. Having to mentally push to get the run done, whilst going past big red STOP signs. Ouch.
The Tempus isn't my favourite daily (a touch firm/thin feeling in the forefoot and the upper isn't particularly comfortable) but boy can it rip off some faster paces.
I have the Triumph 20, love midsole but I agree with you that I don’t like wobbly heel feeling. Could you test the Mount to Coast S1? By the way, absolutely love your quest to find 5 best replacements for Triumph 20. Thank you.
Saucony Tempus has been one of my favorites for over a year. Was the first shoe that I trusted enough to run without orthotics (because of my flat feet). A year later my feet are getting stronger and I am running more smoothly because of these shoes. They also work for my 10+ min/mile pace. Ps: I bought the Vomero 17s a month ago because of your videos. It has quickly become one of my favorite daily trainers. Thanks! (also my first pair of Nike shoes ever!)
@@AnilDewan That’s great info, ty. I also have flat-ish feet, I tried stability/Kayano once but tons of hot spots, so I never went back. Maybe I’ll give Tempus a try, can’t go wrong at
How do you just go out and run without any pre run stretching or you just cut that out of the video just wondering because I always need to stretch out otherwise Krampus haunts me on my runs At least no crow battles today...
Congrats on one year straight of daily videos! I could honestly say I have watched/listened to every video over the last year. With the amount of work you're putting in, and length of videos, you are definitely unrivaled!
Thank you so much Jason! And saw your other comment about Asheville. You'll need to check out that other shoe store some time but I'm glad you got to try the skyward x. Such a different experience from anything else out there
Whoa, what a milestone, congrats! I’m sure I’m not alone when I say this channel is a daily go-to for me and many like-minded runners. Instead of the news at 9, this is what I tune into. :) Keep up the amazing work! Obligatory shout-outs to the members of your family that are supporting you in what you do. 💪💪💪
Came here for the TYR Valkyrie review, still watching for the attitude and positive content. Love what you're doing. That being said, the Tempus is my favorite right now. Waiting for that new (upper update) drop to be my raceday Chatty shoe in September.
@@aggressiveturtle77 Lots of great owner feedback on Tempus. Hope Saucony doesn’t nerf v2 like they seem to be doing with so many of their shoes lately.
I loved the T20 and am surprised I like the PM2 even more. Just wish there was a version with a lighter, more breathable, upper for the summer - not that they're heavy but this would make them lighter too.
Love this shoe. I've bought 4 pairs, with 450 miles on the first pair and the sole is sill in good condition. The weight difference is 5-10g between the shoes, so 20g isn't normal.
I have just replaced my Triumph 20 by the Novablast 4. Glycerin 21 seems to be a nice option too. Triumph 21 can still be bought also (exactly same as the Triumph 20 for me)
@@hugoq6186 Seems like Novablast 4 is pretty much the single best all-around running shoe available, combining value, light weight, cushion, quality/durability, all in one.
I briefly tried the more v4 a while back (when it first came out 2 years ago) and didn't love it. I'll probably wait for the v5 since it's coming out this summer
Training for my first marathon. I’m a very slow runner. I use the tempus as my daily trainer and the Kinvara pro as my long run shoe. The tempus felt like it wasn’t protective enough after 6 miles or so and my feet and knees were hurting. But it’s awesome for me on daily 4-5 mile runs. I average a 10:30 to 11 min mile on my long runs and the Kinvara pro feels incredible for me. Super protective for my feet and legs. Maybe not best for everyone but works for me. I’m 5’8 185lbs and normal max cushion shoes (ASICS gel nimbus/ nova blast) gave me horrible shin problems. Hopefully that helps someone.
Thanks for the insight! Super helpful. I was debating yesterday morning between the Kinvara pro and the Tempus for the long run so I'll have the give the Kinvara pro a shot soon
Hi. I have just done my second long run in Tempus and feel the same. After about 6-7 miles my feet’s do start hurting. Very stable shoe but man I need more recovery after zone 2 long 13 miles run that after HM race in Adios Pro 3. Really hope this would be my long run stability shoe but just not enough protection for me.
@@Mattjv85 hi. I am quite heavy as well. Around 200lbs at the moment. As for the update around temp us - I gave them another go. Much better now after about 35-40 miles. Feel that shoe is quite roomy TTs and would maybe size down in future but had problems with long runs and tight fits in the past. I have played a bit with shoelaces and tie the shoe quite a bit tighter specially down the shoe at beginning and that helped with movement in front a bit.
Trying to find a racing shoes for a 5k. Maybe stretch to half marathon at the absolute most. For someone running less than 40 miles/week. Around 19min 5k runner. Narrow feet, but not so narrow that I need narrow sizes. High-ish arches. Current racing shoes is the Hyperion Max 1. Suggestions for a faster shoe for race day?
Saucony endorphin pro 4! It's my favorite all around racing shoe. Can handle any distance and should be durable for training based on how the previous generation wore for me. Ride is soft and bouncy with a nice snap at faster paces
@supwell how does the Endorphin Elite 4 compare to something with a little "faster" like the Takumi Sen 10? I know the Sen is a bit more niche and might fall to a different demographic than the EE4 buuuuut... what's your take on how those two compare?
i also loved the shift! the tempus is softer and bouncier but just as supportive. the rocker isn't as aggressive on the tempus, so it doesn't have as much roll - but the bounce makes up for it. if you really like that firmer feel of the shift you also might like the kinvara pro (it is very firm though)
This is going to be an odd question but I'm going to purchase feeture socks and I was wondering which one of the two would be great for the summer heat without causing blisters. My current Saucony socks keeps giving me blisters around my medial right foot after 4 miles which is quite annoying. (.Feeture Elite max cushion) Or (.Feeture Elite light cushion)
Both are great - 860 for everyday miles and long runs. Tempus has a little more bounce so I'd take that for speed. I'd go 860 as it's more versatile for me
Terrible shoe. Narrow toebox. Hard midsole. To hard for slow runs to heavy for fast runs. Very stable so you pay the price for stability. Rocker unnoticed.
I think you bought knock-offs. You've described the opposite characteristics to the Tempus. Toebox is pretty roomy, and it's the lightest stability shoe on the market; you can't have had genuine Saucony shoes.
Most underrated running/shoe review channel. Big fan here. Keep up the good work!
The Tempus is a hellovah shoe 🔥🔥 I'm getting me some pairs of version 1 at bargain price now that version 2 is coming out.
One year, dropping 20-90 minute videos every day is definitely commitment.

How would you compare the 860 to the Tempus? For walking and running?
The difference between the winners and the rest is the dedication to your goals..the winner keeps going when it gets tough..have a great vacation..😊
💯 thank you!
The Tempus isn't my favourite daily (a touch firm/thin feeling in the forefoot and the upper isn't particularly comfortable) but boy can it rip off some faster paces.
This is actually a great gravel shoe. Lots of protection from sharp rocks when bombing down hill. Lighter and peppier than trail shoes for sure
