It is exploit. sad that devs are not too determined to fix all of them. starting from fixing mechanic of corners of building ending with this.
@@gfan83 The reason they're not determined to fix this is.. it's not hurting anybody. Don't have to use it, and no one is typically finding out about it on accident. Just no reason to fix it when there's other areas to be devoting time into

One potential weakness: Without the singularity or a similar setup, your colonists are all clustered up in a single tile. That means if you get really unlucky and they manage to get a decent grenade throw or rocket launched, most of them are probably dead.
Get in the zone !
I remember when you discovered this because you had too many pawns for the singularity box. It makes me wonder if this will an enable an even more busted setup than the singularity - but I'm sure if such a thing exists, you will find it soon!

This is a bit OP for my story plays, but I could see it in an end game: "Let me see what I can do to kill my colonists" when I'm in bored mode. Have fun and thanks for the guide.

Wild, I've fit mutliple people into a tile many a time but infinite is a spicy thing
Does this work with mechs and powering them down in the same spot? I.E. create a custom work group set to dormant recharge, only zone them to that single area, and drafting them to “wake” them up whenever a raid arrives?
Also, can this be used for a melee corner attack or will pawns balloon out even when not drafted?
It can but you have to temporarily wall them in like in my Cheese run.

Regarding the grid region thing, is it better to be in the center of a region, or the edge?
In general yes, but with this technique specifically you basically want lots of tiny regions (which the fences help create).

Very clever stuff, wouldn't personally use it as it feels like an exploit that takes me out the immersion of the game/scenario overall (as it's not 'realistic' to have twenty pawns on one spot if you get me.)
But yeah fascinating how mechanics can be worked in this way.

Tried this one. The colonists would balloon out in 1.5.
That was mostly an example of what not to do hence all the centipedes shooting at them without them reacting - do you know how many tiles away the enemies were when the balloon out happened? I am guessing under 12 tiles as mentioned or did that change again?
@@AdamVsEverything As soom as the colonists went aggressive, they would ballooned out. However, putting fences stops that.

Yep, super cheesy/exploity .. just like the Singularity box. But it is a single player game. Whoever wants or likes to use it can. Those that don't can just skip it.
Hope this will be fixed very soon. Dozens of pawns in a single spot seems like heavy bug exploiting.
Why? Is this impacting you negatively if you do not use it anyway? - I don't use it in my runs, but don't care if someone does or does not.
