    Just ordered mine 40% off a kohl’s after i ordered the ninja deluxe 😂 i did sell my original 8 before. But hopefully this won’t be a fail Since i already have the foodi. But with three kiddos and only a charcoal grill i am not great at getting the charcoal going and then get nervous with little hands (husband works nights) more recipes!!

    Really like your videos, CJ! Have you ever had problems with the Ninja grill smoking? I just ordered one today, but am concerned about setting off the smoke alarms in my 12- unit condo building...

    • @CookingWithCJ

      Dan B hey thanks! I’ve only had one time where it smoked out of hundreds of cooks. And that was because I grilled bacon wrapped chicken at max temp.... I should have known better. Just make sure you use the right high temp oils. Avocado and canola are best.

    Steak looks excellent! I always use McCormicks Montreal Steak, too. Since these videos are about how to do things on the Ninja Foodi Grill, it would be helpful to show the buttons that you push and how to change temperature, function and time. For instance, is there a button for preheat, or exactly how is it done on the Foodi Grill?

    • @CookingWithCJ
      @CookingWithCJ  5 років тому +7

      I swear I say what setting I have it on.. The temp corresponds with the grill setting. And I talk timing and when I’m checking as I go. I will work on being a bit clearer so you can follow along though. Thanks for watching.

    Hubby and I received one of these for our anniversary, I have never grilled anything before and the Ninja Foodi grill has me grilling like a pro! I was looking for a video on how to grill ribeyes specifically and yours came up first, so glad I watched it! The way you explained it was easy to understand, and I was especially excited to see you use canola cooking spray - after reading the best oils to use I decided to try the canola spray as well, seeing someone else use it validated my choice lol. I happen to like Jack Daniel's steak seasoning but I might have to try the Montreal seasoning as well.
    This was my first video of yours and just the intro was enough to make me a subscriber! Your passion for good food and enthusiasm in showing us how to make it definitely makes me a fan...can't wait to watch more of your vids!
    Bon appetit from a foodie in Texas 😋
    Oh and for anyone on the fence about buying one of these, you will NOT regret getting one! I haven't even tried the other features (such as the air fryer) and I'm in love with it, best anniversary gift I ever got 😍 stay safe everyone!!

      @@voqzmk2 , hell yeah! I use that thing about 4 nights a week. It is a bit hard to clean the upper part of the internal grill sometimes but overall this thing has allowed me to make so many awesome meals. It’s honestly my most relied upon kitchen gadget that I own. I highly suggest the new foodie XL as it has more room to cook more epic steaks if you have friends over during game day. I also used it a lot to air fry things though I ended up getting an actual air fryer since you can’t really air fry bacon and Brussels sprouts while grilling steak 🥩 😉

    • @voqzmk2
      @voqzmk2 3 роки тому

      @@Scuba_Bro Thanks for the detailed answer.
      Have you tried doing fries and toasting bread?
      I want to buy that for my mothers birthday, because her Tefal Optigrill broke and she doesnt want to get a new one, because its expensive.

    • @Scuba_Bro
      @Scuba_Bro 3 роки тому

      @@voqzmk2 , I do Texas toast and garlic bread in there often... I also have used it for French fries before numerous times in the past and to me the fries come out restaurant quality. I also use the air fryer to make potato skins and they come out great. I also enjoy doing different types of roasts in there as well. The only thing you need to remember is to not get the metallic chord portion of temperature probe chording wet when you clean. Otherwise it will short out the probe and you won’t be able to use it until the temp probe chord is fully dry. CJ is not exaggerating in that the food and meat really comes out looking just like he shows it from the foodie grille.

    I’ve never actually cooked steak, so I was hitting the Googles and came along this. I have this grill and love it. It’s an air fryer as well, so we use ours a lot. About to try cooking my first steak in this bad boy.

    Few questions: 1. Did you spray the grill with canola oil first? 2. It says virtually smokeless is this true? 3. When flipping steak did a lot of smoke come out? I hate cooking meat because I'm afraid the smoke alarm will go off

    • @CookingWithCJ

      I think I sprayed the grill fist. It’s true. No smoke. Thanks

    That don't look too bad but there's no way that steak is as good as a properly smoked and reverse seared steak. I get a much better sear and color outside on my grill. Wish that thing had closer together grates and would hit 600°F.

      Bman 1620 yeah I agree, nothing beats my outdoor grill. But... for those that can’t have an outdoor grill, this is a solid option for sure.

    Looks fantastic! Though when it gets cut up like that, all the juices and flavour in the meat just drip out, don’t cut it until you eat it.
