We are baaack with our Affordable Liveaboard Yacht Series, or in this case SuperYacht 😝 We are very excited to have found this 1983 Cheoy Lee Cockpit Motor Yacht as she has A LOT to offer to her future owner. She was refitted in the mid-2000s and they did an amazing job. Some of my fav features on this SuperYacht are: the super comfy saloon, the very well-appointed Galley with all stainless steel upgraded appliances, the “Media room” which I would most definitely convert into a Great Home Office, The guest Cabin,s and the Master with plenty of room for everyone, the proper Crew Quarters and the very Tall headroom Engine Room.
Just add a little TLC and she would make an amazing Liveaboard Contender! She is currently listed for sale for $399,000.
Enjoy the Tour!

Hey guys, we are back with a great Affordable Liveaboard Option 👌🏻 enjoy!!!
These really are my favorite videos.
I second that...these are a good entry into the life of yachting for many people ...more please
With the price of new boats going through the roof it helps when you show affordable live aboard boats.
i loved this video! thanks for bringing this to us! few years back i really liked the idea of liveaboard and yachts. idk why but i think of yachts like spaceships haha :D some of them actually do, like the Azimut S10 Grande!
Hi Naughty Styles - I just can not get enough of your kinky Micky Mouse voice - cheers from Miami Beach 🙂
This is the first older boat that you guys have showcased that I could see as a true live-aboard. Beautifully maintained/renewed.
An old man likes an old boat. That makes sense.
The 1984 Broward was 100% live aboard maybe u missed it.
That boat is older than me and I really like it. It’s tastefully kept.
I think they have shown many affordable liveaboards. They recently showed a 98' Broward that would be perfect. It's even better than this one. I think it was $599,000.
@@pokerace420 I agree the Broward was perfect to liveaboard.
The Foruno is a fish finder and shallow water depth finder, the Wesmar Omnicolor Video Sounder is a deep water sonar that uses color changes to indicate different types of objects and seafloor changes telling you if you are over a rocky formation, a soft muddy ground, underwater objects like trees, boulders, etc and gives indication of fish 🐟 schools and their sizes so you know what is going on under the boat as you are doing deep sea fishing 🎣.
BTW, "Poor Richard" (the name of the boat passing by) was Benjamin Franklin and the name he used for his "Poor Richard's Almanac" that he printed.
Thanks for the detail Kevin! I used to be a tech at Wesmar in the mid-70's just off Lake Union in Seattle, WA. That video sounder--very high tech compared with the mono-green sonar of back then. I worked in "Level Monitor". The division building rigs for close tolerance, distance measuring equipment. Regards to Ben.
Cool!
So the Wesmar depth sounder is something of a classic then!?
@@Davidcallard Most made around end of 70's (78 I think) to the 80's, so 40 - 50 years old should make it a classic for sure! On another note, it cost around $2,500 back then!
@@kevinfleming9919 I thank you for that information. I'm a bit of a dinosaur I guess because I'm a firm believer that if a manufactured product still performs its intended purpose well and you have a need for the service then keep it! I'm against upgrading equipment purely for the reason of having the latest version of everything. I figure that we already have an enormous e-waste problem so why should we add to it unnecessarily? Besides, we live on a planet of limited resources so why should we assume that said resources will never be scarce? I know, I'm the consumer economy's worst nightmare! 🤣😂
The cost is never the boat… it is the doc fees, fuel, insurance, etc…
U got that right
It’s like horses they don’t cost a lot it’s keeping them alive and healthy that costs a lot
@@Jedwbpmi used to be a horse…
Wow! So, the boat is "free?" Whay a deal. 😮
@@JDO424, You still are one!
I absolutely love these older yachts over the newer modern ones. Would love to see you be able to show some even older 40s 50s or 60-year-olds yachts. Thank you for putting on such wonderful tours.
New ones ain’t that bad but old boats are quite nice
one of the best classic yachts you ever toured and insanely good value for money !! what a peach of a live aboard ! more boats like these please .
I prefer the older styling versus the boat looking like a big sea-doo. I'm a sucker for wood grain 🙂
I think the newer boats look like running shoes.
I just wanted to say I just started watching you guys about 2 weeks ago and it’s hard not to binge watch. You guys are awesome and have peeked my interest in boats again. Thank you
piqued*
I have a penchant for older things. To me, this boat has what many modern boats, RV’s are lacking…character. Analogous to today’s cars vs. those from the 60’s & 70’s which had their own “personality”.
Stumbled onto your channel and you guys have great chemistry, fun and it shows that you love what you’re doing.
She's too old for me and none too bright.
This yacht is full time located in FTL. I saw the owners scooting her around through the river walk. It doesn't look as dated in person and it's a much more beautiful yacht in person
Yes. Things are different in person, than they are out person.
Yo is it still for sale?
I spent years yachting on an 83' Cheoy Lee. Well built, well designed vessel.
Keep in mind a full fuel fill up is $16,000 +. Maintenance, slip fees, utilities, add another $19K/year.
How far could you go on a fill up?
@@steffenfrost In the specs it indicates 2000nm
Really bad investment its to old if you really want one buy new .
@@steffenfrost just out of the bay lol 😆
@@lowellprebble474 It seems like a lot of boat for $400k. I don't think you could get a condo in its neighborhood for that price.
I appreciate that when you don't know something, you just say so instead of trying to wing it. I'm learning about motor sailing, even though I can't afford to own a boat. I like to watch this video.
Thank you for describing things and adding “boating/yachting terminology for those of us who are new to this world you both live in. You create a great learning platform for those who might eventually wander in your direction .
🙏🏻💙
Rico: needs to do a boat handling channel of various docking and maneuvering situations. I would watch for sure. Thanks for what you're doing guys!
🤔💡 noted! ✅
That's a good idea!!
I second that
Yeah, that'd be cool. I'd also like to see something along the lines of boating/yachting for beginners etc.
Something along the lines of general & essential maintenance, levels of difficulty associated with that, & whether it should really be done by a qualified professional etc.
Lots of possibilities here, and I'm sure even those that think they might know it, would still watch in case they may not be 100% sure on things.
Would also be cool to see owner/operator videos & interviews, and get their opinions & impressions of daily boat life & ownership.
@@Chalto That would be cool, but I think Rico and Victoria should keeps those two things apart - the boat presentations and the boating stuff - maybe do another channel with the boating stuff, and then update each channel every other weeks...
That boat looks like it was maintained very well and has a good mix of traditional and updated features and a really good value
The display you’re looking at is for a fish finder. So it fits with the live well and bait prep. She is set up for serious fishing. Love the channel and energy guys. 👍😎
My first guess was a Furuno doppler weather radar but I looked it up and yeah, 16 color fish finder basically but probably pretty useful for not running into a coral reef/sand bar too.
My yachting career started on a Cheoy Lee 90 exactly as this one on your video. What great memories you guys brought me back. By the way the instrument right fwd of the helm on the bridge is am inclinometer, indicating degrees of roll and the other instrument in question the Furuno is more than likely a radar repeater.
timeless classy design. when all these spaceship looking yachts become out of vogue , this one will still stand tall
I prefer older boats, so much nicer.
A brand known primarily for building trawlers.
This boat is a steal...just incredible value for a well built boat kept in excellent shape!
The fucking maintenance costs would be outrageous, let alone , the fuel, insurance dock fees, harbor fees in certain area…plus the fact it’s old so good luck width oem parts.
Guesstimate on yearly upkeep $?
@@coalcreeker583 you could probably figure $50k a year if you're handy and don't pay people to do everything such as waxing the boat, etc
@@greenidguy9292 ya, but that's going to be the case of any boat that size. I mean one could spend twice as much for a newer boat and have the same annual costs. But, I do sort of get your point. If you can't afford a million dollar boat, then you probably can't afford this boat. I still like the boat, but I like a lot of boats.
@@greenidguy9292 maintenance on my 14’ aluminum boat is less than $100….. lol
One of the best, "older", yachts. Very nice condition, very well made. Could almost see owning a boat like that.
Thank you guys for doing more of the affordable yachts. I really do appreciate it.
Never ceases to amaze how much room is actually available on these boats. You can never tell looking at it from the outside.
They're ships, mate 😎
This boat is great, I actually really like the fixtures in the bathrooms and some of the classic styled items throughout.
Have to add...classic lines, classic interior... I have watched this 4 times now. I recall reading about these boats back in 80s😊😊😊 incredible boat. Thanks yiu guys are fantastic 😊
What an amazing boat. I would absolutely live aboard that. It is nice to see a well maintained and loved older yacht.
Cheoy Lee is a Hong Kong based boat builder with a long history.
Honestly, I'd rather have this beautiful Yacht over the "stamped out" new Motor Yachts of today, yeah, I could TOTALLY live on this one, really stylish! Thanks for the tour.
Chevy Lee are amazing boat builders
The craftsmanship on there boats is second to none
Great thank you for the video! It is amazing how perfectly well the space in these vessels is used. Every tiny volume of it... Grateful you took us on tour! :)
love your guys videos , inspiring and these yachts are amazing! I'm doing the math on whether to build a new cabin or be able to park a yacht at our waterfront.
Loving the hull styling. And a crow's nest! With boat controls?!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most awesome!!! Well apportioned interior, and I agree, that den would make a great personal office area for working from home. A private WiFi and a good laptop means you could probably work anywhere on the boat, like the rear exterior salon area, but I prefer a good office and a tower computer system.
I would totally live on this if I had it.
Not to mention that if you had enough supplies you could base yourself in international waters and not have to pay taxes!
In the crew area you can see the Cheoy Lee joinerwork that us old timers know and love. I would be turning the radar OFF when up in that crows nest.
I CANNOT get away from this boat !! So Beautiful. Living on the California Delta (1,000 miles of waterways) this boat would be Perfect !! Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed this video immensely AND great job Vickie and Rico - you guys are perfect together!
Amazing yacht.
For an older boat this yacht is in great shape. The refit respected the spirit of the original. Thank you for another wonderful tour.
Cheers
I loved this boat! This will always be a classic lovely vessel. Great job owners for delightful refits that are classic yet always timely! Beautiful…
I love how you two have a great sense of humor. Love watching you guys
You guys work really well together and explain everything very well thank you and goodluck in the future
Furuno FCV582L was a state of the art depth sounder and multiple display fish finder. They don’t make that particular model anymore but it still is a solid unit
Very similar I'm using on my offshore vessel built in 2014 120m long. This is a very useful piece of equipment for a more advanced users
@@ukaszc7194 120 meters long?!😳
Yep, 120m. It is not a yacht. It is a vessel made to serve in oil@gas industry or windfarms
@@ukaszc7194 gotcha! Safe travels!
I liked this tour a lot! The refit looks really well done. It has full size dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. It would work as a home, for shure. Great fun!
I just found your channel. Wonderful tour of a classic boat! I love the engine room and main bridge. The crow's nest is great, but that radar is a bit too low for me, I'd move it up about 2 feet higher...all that RF energy so close to my head brings up memories from my submarine days: "Attention, there are men working in the sail, do not rotate or radiate from any mast or antenna, there are men working in the sail!".
Love this one! More older yachts please!
You two are so adorable together. What you have is really special ! God Bless you both with your family and all your hard work !
Gag.
@@rogersmith7396 She's definitely unqualified, but I guess they know their target audience.
@@Heypistola Schills gotta schill. Probably waiting for that big game show gig. I have a hard on for this boat at that price. Always wanted something you need tug boats to get off the dock. Fixing a broken air conditioner would probably run $50,000. Maybe if I won the lottery. Dockage a couple of thousand a month.
Absolutely the nicest boat of its age. Very well laid out.
I absolutely love this yacht. After watching no telling how many of your videos, this one is still my favorite.
A beautiful yacht. Very organized and flows nice. My fav so far.
I came to look at a boat but got excited when she said she gets confused with left and right!!! 😭 ❤️I thought I was slow because I too get confused and have to stop to think about it... 🤷🏾♀️ Feels good to know I'm not alone! 🥰
Love the older yachts!! Such beautiful wood work, very well maintained.
These are videos are great! This is absolutely an amazing boat! I assume you WOULD need a captain and crew to run such a massive ship. Is this still available, and for that matter with theses older videos it would be nice to know when your feature boats are no longer available.
This is a nice boat. Old, but a really nice live aboard boat. I would add more refrigerator storage including freezers, but for the money this is an excellent buy and has a lot of potential.
Really really love the layout and the in law suite.Price is reasonable as well. Hopefully you guys keep doing videos such as this that can accommodate large families!!!
@@believeinjesus6972 you ok?
My boat came with a mother in law suite as well. It’s a rubber raft at the end of a 200’ rope towed behind the yacht lol
Love your videos!! Believe it or not, even though this is a 1983 yacht, it's one of my favorites you have ever shown. A total classic!!!
Absolutely gorgeous. Stunning, beautiful. Lovely aft.
The boat is nice too
Everything old from the 1940s to 1960s was Class
Movies cars Commercials yachts airlines and most importantly the People
Happy days 👍🏴
I like the design of the yacht. She is very pretty.I love seeing the yachts being towed as if their owner didn't feed the meter where it was parked. The coffee table in the salon is gorgeous! The pilot house is beautiful. I love the kitchen!! It's light and bright with awesome appliances!! Thanks for the terrific tour! Love from Vermont
With only a few feet of clearance I would want something like that towed to Port Everglades. The intercoastal is nortoriously poorly maintained. Several bridges. Lots of traffic.
This is the first of your videos that I have watched. Living and growing up in the Midwest a motor yacht life style is like living on the moon. This might be a 40 year old boat for those in the know but for me this is a totally amazing yacht, beautiful from stem to stern and I wish it were mine, even to spend a weekend would be like going to Disney World, but alas it will never be
And love the Engine room tours...most boat tour channels don't go into the engine rooms in the details that you do, Thank You!
Really classy older model yacht. Well maintained…great size and price.
I am like SOLD on this boat. My hope is that in 3-5 years when I’m ready to buy something I’ll find one very close to this one. I love the proportion of guest to crew space. I want MORE crew, and LESS guests. 3 owner/guest cabins and 3 crew is perfect!
Why would you want 3 strangers living with you in what amounts, square footage wise, to a smallish house? You end up being the de facto guest, and you have to manage what is essentially a small business. I would never own a boat I couldn't handle single handed. The joy, and the peace, of boating come from independence, solitude, and self-reliance. If you want a crew: charter.
Love how you two interact with each other! Definitely a fun couple who makes these videos also fun to watch and not just dried commentary of stats and dimension only. And yes, sorry Rico, but Vickie is def. easy on the eyes! Lolol… good stuff!
Great showing always have a Good Time w The both of you on tours
This is my favorite One I Hope someone has bought her and is enjoying it as much as we All are what a Jem a True beautiful boat- Yacht a classic
Please do an update on This one Please
Beautiful craft, only wish I had the moola I would be over there and sail it back to New Zealand and base it up at the beautiful Bay of Islands. Great presentation. Kia Ora, best wishes.
Love the classic designs! Being older, I love Burgers, Browards, Hatteras, Cheoy Lee's, Feedships, etc. Great tour.
What about Huckins!? ;-) Biased.. we have one! lol
I think this is my favorite boat so far, I thank you two and Aquaholic and Producer Michael for the great mind bending tours

I love that fly bridge. The whole boat looks brand new, they did an amazing job refitting it.
I’ve become addicted to dreaming about yachting and I just love both of your happy fun vibe! Your videos always make me smile 😊 thank you 🛥 ♥️
I recently watched some of your older videos and noticed how well you’ve dialed things in! They are now more comprehensive, very easy to follow, and more Rico! Still the most enjoyable boating channel!
Love watching your videos, you guys have inspired us to consider purchasing about when we retire.
This is a very good boat for the money. Well maintained and some nice updates. Thanks for sharing
Port and Left both have four letters (works if facing the bow). On airplanes, RED on the left and GREEN on the right. Left has less letters than Right and Red has less letters than Green. Again, works if facing the front (nose) of the plane. Cheers. :-)
Thats exactly how I learned port from starboard back in the day. Port and left...both 4 letters. Lol
Choy Lee has long been one of my favorite builders. This would be my dream live aboard boat. Great tour, guys. Loved Rico's impromptu commentary. Enjoyed the Glamorous Gams of our Yacht Presenter Super Model..

That was truly a beautifully appointed boat. Such a wonderful flow to it. Much appreciate how well it's cared for. Well beyond my reach - but it's nice to dream:) Thank you for the wonderful tour.
Great tour guys, thanks. My wife and I were always thinking about purchasing a motorhome when she retires to go on the road with but after looking at this boat we might have to rethink that. Love your positive opinions towards every thing. Thanks for sharing
This is, by far, my favorite of all the videos you’ve put out so far. Absolutely gorgeous vessel loaded with class and character, and just an overall quality machine.
I’d be very curious to understand the maintenance cost of a vessel like this. To buy it is one thing, but to maintain it… well, I suspect that’s what might turn some prospective buyers away. For those of us who are new to the nautical life, it would be extraordinary if you guys could discuss maintenance costs on some of the vessels featured in your “affordable liveaboard” videos.
Cheers and best wishes.
Minimum maintenance will be about $150k/yr. parking is going to hurt.
Don't forget crew costs if you plan on taking the ship anywhere. It looks far too big to be handled by a recreational amateur captain.
@@eddievest4096 I don’t think maintenance would be that bad if you don’t run it much. But yes, parking is the big one with a boat like this.
@yo yo if you park out in the water, how much do you think it would cost to run off the generators?
@yo yo you could probably find room for a lot of solar panels on a boat that size!
I really like what they've done with this. Even as a live aboard, think I'd want a crew just to maintain all that. Thanks for bringing it to us.
lol, it need a maintenance crew even if nobody live in so...

This is a beautiful 1983 yacht it looks like they looked after it Real good it’s like new and the engine room is a nice size
In the "bonus den", that couch is a futon, so it can be used as an extra guest cabin. Great tour... love the older yachts.
Wow. This is a fantastic layout!! Honestly, if someone wanted to upgrade in any way to bring this pretty close to a more modern spec, there is not a whole lot needed to get to a level quite close to perfect. What a beautiful vessel to use as a live aboard!! Love the crows nest controls!! How cool is THAT!!?? This is literally a ready built home that would feel comfortable right on move in, right?? The only things to seriously consider would be the cost of operating this monster. But if you want to live on an actual yacht and not just a cramped boat you could easily save a…..”boat load” of money, lol that would easily cut deeply into the cost of actual purchase of what would be a multi million dollar vessel to get similar accommodation in a newer version. Really nice.
Cost to operate usually is 10 to 15% of cost per year. However that's a new boat estimate. With an over 4k gallon fuel tank you can estimate cost to fuel easy.
Maintenance can be a crap shoot.
Considering it's got over 2k NM range it's not too bad. Efficiency isn't built in for an old boat. Fuel back then was way cheaper.
Did a quick rounded calculation. It's over 20k to fill the tank. 😲
This yacht is magnificent ! I think this is the most boat for the money. It's not all glamor and glitz, however if is very nice. The amount of living space is incredible. I'm also impressed with crew quarters. If you are using this boat to travel, and why wouldn't you, you will need a crew. A happy, comfortable crew will make life easier for everyone. If you travel, this area xwill be their home too. This yacht has class. I would love to live aboard this yacht. I could go on and on, after 40 yrs,my wife will testify to that. Love your channel. A truly beautiful older boat. I love the layout and the woodwork. Once again, wonderful job showcasing this. Oh yeah, stunning view from the crow’s nest but I have a fear of heights so I’m not sure I could ever go up there if I bought this boat!!!
I believe the gauge with green red and yellow lights on it is for docking in shallow waters. If it gets into the red range take extreme caution as the bottom is getting close to the boat
