I have a couple ideas for improvements but THANK YOU!! 🙏. There aren’t many of these videos on the internet showing you how to do this.
Y not just buy a hole saw
If you don’t have the rubber gaskets just put a dab of silicone on the screw before threading it in.

Im surprised the lack of epoxy or silicone
The flap should open away from the kayak 😅
