    Thanks for this demo. It's extremely useful as I will be installing rod holders in the same kayak.

    That was great now I know how to do that. Nice 1!!!
    Was wandering could you do a video on how you would strap your kayak to a car roof rack for long car journeys like 5 hours plus. That would be really helpful to see how you do it?

      Thanks! I’m sure I can get round to doing a video on this at some point 👍🏻

    Always feels a bit brutal drilling holes in a new kayak. Helpful tips there.

      I love drilling holes in kayaks 🤣 always counterintuitive though but as long as you work above the waterline of the kayak with proper fixings and decent sealant you can’t go too far wrong.

      Drink a few beers before drilling, release your inhibitions

    Nice videos, are these style of mounts good for trolling while paddling? or just ideal to store your rods? great instructions!

      Thanks Pat 😊 the flush mount rod holders are fine for trolling a lure behind the kayak, it’s just a bit awkward to see the rod tips though as they would be behind you - just set the clutch of the reel and wait for the line to peel off on a take! 🎣

    Nice video Liam. What annoys me is that for a job like this, where you only use a small amount of Sikaflex, what is the best way to prevent the remainder from drying up and hardening, before you need to use it again?

    • @CornishKayakAngler
      @CornishKayakAngler  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! I know what you mean with the sealant, it’s a shame they don’t sell smaller squeeze tubes. I tend to stick a large screw in the end of the nozzle - the nozzle section will cure but you can use some pliers to pull out the screw with dry sealant attached when you need to use again. Sikaflex EBT only has a shelf life of around 12 months anyway so unless you have lots of sealing to do chances are most of it won’t be used.

    What is the brand of rod holder you installed?

      They are the Feelfree Universal Flush Mount Rod Holders. Loads of similar ones out there though but the Feelfree ones are decent 👍🏻

    What is the purpose of the cord with the clip?

    • @CornishKayakAngler
      @CornishKayakAngler  3 роки тому

      It’s a basic leash to clip around the reel handle if needed. To be honest I never use them!

    @10:27 - Now you have two round plastic pieces sliding around inside the sealed kayak!

      Only until I tip the kayak forwards and grab them out the from hatch!
